This popped up on my tumblr dash and it looked interesting. Anyone watch it and willing to recommend it?

I'm 2 episodes in and I'm not convinced it won't just be average, but it seems like most animes these days don't start getting good in any way until episode 5+. I never bothered with Attack on Titan because the first episode bored me.

It's in my backlog (I've got the episodes saved just finishing up other shows from last season first). I know people were excited for it before the season started but haven't heard what people thought after.

Also, can I just say that dropping a show after 1 episode is pretty weird? I usually give a show 3-4 eps before passing judgement. Especially with SnK... you should give it another go. Really enjoyable show aside from a few minor gripes.

I have extremely limited free time, so pretty much anything that requires me to focus on it completely (like something with subtitles), is under pretty heavy scrutiny to justify itself. Watching two episodes of an anime could literally be all the free time I have on a weekday.

So giving an anime 3-5 episodes to figure out if I actually want to watch it is a really big investment, and it's pretty much guaranteed to not have a payoff large enough to justify all the times I'd be let down.

I enjoyed Attack on Titan, though I didn't think it was as ********************** as just about everyone seems to think. It was good, but some people make it out to be like this life-changing experience. Smiley: lol I might watch two or three anime series in a year, and I certainly thought it was worth my time.

I really wanted to watch Titan, too. But then I read a ton of reviews which stated how the show degrades after about the first half. Now I have it sitting on my computer and am not sure if I will even try it. Nothing more infuriating than having a show start off stellar and it then getting worse by the episode.

Maybe I'll just wait until season 2 is finished (is it even confirmed yet) and see what people think then.

I agree with Dig. You have to catch me early on, or I just won't care enough to follow up. I only watched Attack on Titan because a friend made me sit down and watch the first few episodes, and I trust her taste in anime enough to know that when she recommends something, I'm most likely going to enjoy it. But man, those first few episodes were painful.

It was Death Note 2: It was good, not amazing, and certain very vocal fandoms caught onto it and blew it up. Like most of Tumblr's anime fans.

This is why I never read reviews of something before I experience it myself. I'll read them after a movie or show or something to see how my experience compared with theirs, but reading it before can ruin the show for me.

For what it's worth, I don't think it fell off halfway at all. And Season 2 is going to happen, with as ridiculously popular the first one is, they just haven't announced specifics yet.
