I agree with Dig. You have to catch me early on, or I just won't care enough to follow up. I only watched Attack on Titan because a friend made me sit down and watch the first few episodes, and I trust her taste in anime enough to know that when she recommends something, I'm most likely going to enjoy it. But man, those first few episodes were
painful. Spoonless wrote:
I enjoyed Attack on Titan, though I didn't think it was as holysh*t@#%^ingamazing as just about everyone seems to think. It was good, but some people make it out to be like this life-changing experience.
I might watch two or three anime series in a year, and I certainly thought it was worth my time.
It was Death Note 2: It was good, not amazing, and certain very vocal fandoms caught onto it and blew it up. Like most of Tumblr's anime fans.

I really wanted to watch Titan, too. But then I read a ton of reviews which stated how the show degrades after about the first half. Now I have it sitting on my computer and am not sure if I will even try it. Nothing more infuriating than having a show start off stellar and it then getting worse by the episode.
Maybe I'll just wait until season 2 is finished (is it even confirmed yet) and see what people think then.
This is why I never read reviews of something before I experience it myself. I'll read them after a movie or show or something to see how my experience compared with theirs, but reading it before can ruin the show for me.
For what it's worth, I don't think it fell off halfway at all. And Season 2 is going to happen, with as ridiculously popular the first one is, they just haven't announced specifics yet.
