Of course not. How else are you supposed to tell good from evil at a glance?

I'm not spoiler tagging because if you haven't been keeping up enough to know the most recent events, that's your own fault.

I don't know that the cleric of Loki would have the levels for a Resurrection since she was quite a while ago and Durkon's been adventuring hard core since. Someone elsewhere said that Durkon has a scroll of resurrection in his possessions. Haley can use scrolls (I think Elan can as well) so that might be an option.

Apparently this last comic ended the 9-comic streak promised in the Kickstarter and there'll be no more comics this week. Start the withdrawal pangs.

I was kind of hoping he wouldn't make it to 9, so he'd have to try again some other time.

Does that make me a terrible person? Probably, but I don't care as long as I get more awesomesauce OotS.

If Durkon is now a vampire, can he even be resurrected? Just wondering really.

His vampiric body has to be completely destroyed first, then they should be able to resurrect him (at a higher cost than what they needed to resurrect Roy of course). Of course he might chose not to be resurrected and stay in Valhalla, where later on he'll aid Odin and Thor during Ragnarok (read: The Snarl breaks free of the gates).

I haven't played D&D since it was AD&D 1st ed. But my understanding/memory is that Resurrection reconstructs the mortal body and restores the soul so you can cast it on any mortal remains (corpse, ashes, bones, etc) and get a living person. Any maladies (including vampirism) they had are removed in the "rebuilding". Durkon offered to destroy and Resurrect Malack a strip or two back (when he was winning the fight).

It's different from the lower level "Raise Dead" which simply returns the soul and hence requires a pretty fresh corpse. And a means of healing their cause of death upon being brought back to life.

In one of the strips, Roy asks Durkon during a battle if he has a Raise Dead memorized and Durkon says no because it's hard to cast during battle and the dead don't get any deader if you wait a day. Had Durkon been available immediately after Azure City he could have probably Raised Roy. But the long wait while Roy decomposed meant he needed a Resurrection.

Joph's like my own personal RSS feed.

Vampire Durkon is a fresh spin on a somewhat stagnating storyline.

New comic, old site design, surprise (but not unexpected) plot twist.

I like how in all the illusions no one even tried to raise Belkar or Mr. Scruffy. Judging by the fact that they're already walking away it had to be either Roy or V's dream that he's permanently gone.

V hasn't arrived yet (in the "real world") so it's Roy's dream we're watching. No secret that he's no fan of Belkar.

The one thing I hope happens later on in the comic is that "The Snarl" gains sentience and resurrects that over-zealous Sapphire Guard Paladin, Miko, into it's Champion.

The Snarl already has sentience and is controlling Mr. Scruffy.

The Empress of Blood as a Bride's Maid was a nice touch.

Also: Gee, I wonder what is going on.

Blah, blah dream endings... I think this book is ending soon and would rather see "real" action than dreams for every affected character.

If there's a separate strip for Mr. Scruffy, I swear to God... Smiley: mad

It'd probably be the best one of the sequences.
