Kubo Tite method of tricking readers into reading:
>Starves you on plot >Shows you lots of bland fighting >Shows you lots of Orihime >Just as you're about to say "f*ck this this story is going nowhere," he gives you a soap opera twist >You're so starved on story progression that you go "Oh FINALLY now let's see where this is going"
Tsukishima is his cousin? Assuming this isn't some mind control ********* which it probably is, that's stupid. "Oh yeah we're totes related, you just forgot about me because your shinigami powers gave you amnesia because you've been junctioning them to the memory part of your brain ever since you joined Balamb Garden."
Oh, it's definitely mind control ********* The entire point of his powers are the ability to make him feel familiar / etc (though how they actually work is still unknown).
Oh, it's definitely mind control bullsh*t. The entire point of his powers are the ability to make him feel familiar / etc (though how they actually work is still unknown).
If his bookmark-sword "cuts" through anything, I'm going to guess he "cut" through their memories and disbelief so that they'd believe anything he said, or something lame like that. I wouldn't be surprised if when he sliced up Orihime, the excuse for what he did was "cut" through her hostility.
Huh. Didn't expect this. His ability seems slightly more complicated than I thought (at the very least, in the execution of the ability... unless he went around stabbing everyone in town in preparation).
Although I thought that while Inoue was hit by him, she still questioned it and knew she didn't actually know him... so either he hit her again (or she's just a weak willed woman who decided she was crazy for ever questioning him) or she's faking. >_>
OH GOD HIS POWER IS THAT OF A SELF INSERT AUTHOR AVATAR.
I've read lots of bad fanfics with this same plot, to be sure.
So yeah, Ichigo's friends all think he's betraying them. I think it's time for a certain gaggle of shinigami to rally to his side and help him out right about now.

Tsukishima defeats Ichigo Uryuu appears to fight Tsukishima Tsukishima defeats Uryuu in one chapter Rukia and Renji appear to fight Tsukishima Tsukishima defeats Rukia and Renji Tsukishima's plan suddenly involves going to Soul Society Tsukishima does some crazy stupid crap that culminates in Aizen being freed Aizen kills Tsukishima CUE FINAL ARC.
I'm kind of saddened that the first thing I thought of when the dude with the 777 Knuckles who's name escapes me as I type this described his power was "Huh, Domino or Black Cat. But less interesting. And less boobs."

Ginjo being evil may have been predictable, but it would have been a sensible plot twist. Him being evil only because he was double negative'd is such stupid ********* I can picture Kube pondering to himself about plot, "no, no, that'd just make too much sense."
I'm gonna be honest. I have no idea what's going on now. What does Tsukishima cutting him twice have to do with anything?
Cutting once puts a person under his spell, doing it twice seems to break that spell, or so I understand it anyway.
That much is easy to understand. But what's the point? What was the timeline for him being cut the 1st/2nd times? What did he do while under his spell vs not? Clearly it didn't affect him too much if he had the mental fortitude to have him do it again? I can guess at his overall motivation, but even that isn't certain. It just doesn't make sense to me. I guess Kubo will probably give us a few chapters of backstory to explain? We'll see.
Maybe I read it wrong, but I was under the impression that Tsukishima's power involved just inserting himself into people's memories, and the reason Bigtits McSenzu Bean Orihime, Chad, and the Freelance Shame Squad others were defending him was because he inserted himself in a way that made him important to the storylines of the past. Not actually change personalities. So now it can change personalities if hit twice? Or what?
I'm with Allegory on this: Kube is actively writing in ways to make sure things don't make sense.
