Is a way to get everybody that used to play (or continues to play) on the Bismarck server back on the same server when FFXIV hits.

Maybe it's just me, but I fully enjoyed the community, drama included, that Bismarck had. It's basically what kept me playing as long as I did.

I'm not saying I want everyone in Mayhem. I'm saying I want all you oldschool players on the same server as me, 'cause I had a fucking great time playing with you.. and I miss that. When I finally do pick the whole FF MMO thing back up, I'd like to be a part of the same oddly, tight-knit community that I used to be.

So get to thinking.

...and hi, by the way.

It's a good idea, but I've no idea how we could pull it off.

They did mention a way to transfer friend's list on over to FFXIV, so perhaps people will discuss about it enough that most of the server will be on the same one in FFXIV.

Spoony McGay-Bard will be there!
I just really hope XIV has different classes / a different Class System than XI.
someone mentioned XIII's License System. that would be cool :> complete Customization of a character's abilities? hell yeah

to be perfectly honest, the only way i'll come back to xi, or move to xiv, is if they put in a good pvp system, and not the half-assed ballista thing xi has right now. though i do agree arelios, it would be great getting all the old players back to do it all over again.

Yea that's all true. But frankly it's way too early for me to know if I'll get XIV...I mean...two pay-to-play/month...that's gonna hit the wallet bad...not to mention the time spent in both. Though maybe I'll drop XI if enough people go to XIV and say that it is good...

But yea I'm sure there will be a way for everyone to get on the same server...

I'll give the open beta try but if their isn't a solid pvp system I can't stay. I grew tired of non stop pve and half assed ballista @.@ Though still trying to figure out how i'll pay for XI (If I like it) Aion, and Star wars @.@

i'm definitely going to be trying aion(played the chinese version for a bit and it was fun, though i want to try the american version before i decide for sure. as far as star wars goes though, i'm going all geeky fanboy over it. definitely going to be playing that. no questions asked. sith army 4tmfw

I don't think it's that Ballista in and of itself was that terrible, but they definitely could have used a real PvP-type to go with it instead of... Brenner. My only real problem with Ballista was how badly it encouraged people to play like pussies :c

i believe we need to make sure we're on the same server then gaara. then i can show you that the dark side is truly more powerful than you can imagine.

arielos, i believe the real problem with ballista(save for nobody showing up for the lower level fights) is the way they did the timing of them. half the time nobody would be able to show up for the scheduled matches simply due to the time of day. now when you talk about ballista done from that npc in jeuno that let you reserve a time and only your buddies got to fight, now that was a LOT of fun.

what they needed to do was have certain areas of the game set aside for nation vs nation competition that tied directly in with the conquest campaign. that way the more your side won in pvp in those contested areas(with signet or equivalent buff) you advanced your side's control faster than just pveing would. maybe tie in special rewards(that were identical to the ones already available for the pve signet rewards). maybe say, the city specific body piece that you got at rank 10, could have a different color scheme and design to it to signify that you got it from pvp points instead of pve points. that way nobody would be able to say, well you get better rewards from doing such and such, or if you don't do w/e you can't remain competitive. this would allow you to get the same rewards from doing whichever you liked more and lets be honest, wouldn't that have made it a little more fun?

And also, yes.

I loved doing 10 caps in there lol... uncapped was pretty awesome too as long as everybody remembered it was just for fun.

I been out for 2 years from this game. I may get back for a lil bit just to mess around.. I am not really interested in the endgame grind anymore cuz it seems getting the items are not really worth a lot of time and effort. But willing to come online for a few just to play.

If its online, then they will have servers and they seem to stick to a theme when nameing cities and servers.

if the 14 has a bismark server, im sure the bismarkians will choose it.

I am going to get the game on the day it releases, but probably wont install it right away. I will look for friends to post what servers they went to and base my choice on them.

If everyone in a ls decided to regroup in 14, seems easy to do.

Until the name of the 14 servers is known, I dont know any way to organize the current server to transition over as a body.

Does anyone know where a list of 14 server names is located? Or anyone know how to find them out?

No such info exists yet I believe.

I can tell you for a fact they won't be named after places in FFIV. No Final Fantasy game ever has anything but tiny references to its other games. Everything has totally new characters, names and story lines.

They did specifically say that they are working on a way to transfer linkshells over to FFXIV. So one would assume (bad idea with SE) that there will be a transfer service available. Originally they wanted FFXIV and FFXI to be fully interactive with one another so that you could move between the 2 at will.

Don't you hate it when a great idea flops?

I've been following Nintendo since day 1, the way N64 was designed, it had a connection on the bottom of the machine to connect to an adapter that was supposed to grant internet access to the user.

Then Game Cube did the same exact thing.

It wasn't until Wii that they FINALLY added WiiFi and let me play games with my friends. Unfortunately there's only like 10 games that work, and the wii glitches with a whole bunch of different brands of routers.

As a kid who grew up on a farm miles away from anyone, playing games on the internet would have been a great source of entertainment.

Good story huh?

I'm probably necroposting this, but. Alauce's sexy RDM *** will probably be making a brief appearance on FFXIV, at some time, in some form or fashion. I'd be delighted to join another server with the Bismarckians, as this was always my favourite server. I'll try to keep up-to-date. Or something.
