A Discussion: Why we perceive JP players as NOT 1337Follow

So I get invited to a party by a JP WHM named Liondar after several hours of nothing in my MH. And by nothing I mean rigorous ***************

But I digress from my story. I am reading a book while sitting in my MH waiting for members. After a while another JP player is invited. This one is named Toppin. Lo' and behold, this person is also a WHM. Do the flags of 'oh sh*t' get raised yet. No! Not with me!

A bit later an English player is invited. Yay I have company. Can't remember if I spelled the name correctly but it was something like Gaidigaijo or something like that. Guess what job he is...

If you said WHM, then you are wrong. He's a Bard. Did I mention that is what I am? No? Well I did now. They made it clear we had a WAR at CN where we were heading. We figure, what the hell, let's give it a shot. Willing to try anything once attitude. When we got outside Crawlers Nest the 5th member an English speaking WAR named Sapulha joined us and joined us in our try anything once attitude. The other Bard whose name I can't remember exactly made a hilarious comment that it was well worth the 209 gil chocobo to find out what they knew that we didn't.

We began wondering if we were on some JP hidden game show.

I wrote a news headline to my LS stating that we were going undercover with JP gilsellers to see how the level firsthand.

I'll save you from the boring details but they include all of the following:

Deaths for no reason
Casting spells after Invis is already up
Massive aggro and deaths despite plenty of healing power from WHM's
WHM's healing each other rather than tanks
Sodomization of kittens

Trust me, they were all there.

I was going to reply to this thread last night when I first read it. I see you've changed it a bit from last night though. Anyway, I personally do not understand why you are placing this solely on JP. Maybe you should change your title to "An Opinion: Why I perceive JP players as NOT 1337". Everyone has bad parties and leaders who are dumb as a brick. You just appeared to have... multiple fucks in your party. ; ;

Come on, Gam. Instead of taking up 2 threads, why didn't you just post this in your other thread as a follow up?

That one liner we said in our party that I quoted here was merely a humor statement because of the hilarity of the situation that we were increasingly finding ourselves in.

Actually Bleam, I did not change it at all. The only thing I changed was the word 'news' (I changed it immediately after posting when I proofread it). It originally said 'new'.

I am not placing this solely on the JP. First off, this was posted purely for humor value because the occurrences and chat log from my memory were too funny to not share in my opinion. True, we went along with the party and true the 2nd mob that aggro'd was in essence my own fault because we were in an awkward camp and we got too close.

As for the title, well because I was posting it as humor...I'm surprised no one else picked up on this actually...just the night before I made a thread, as you pointed out, about the 1337ness of the JP player. The very next night I make one denouncing that. I thought it would be funny... Guess I didn't make that obvious enough though and if you question it than so do others who just aren't posting. I mean no disrespect to any player of any nationality, unless they are just plain rude...or they break rules in some way, then it's fair game to pick on them with any slur imaginable (but only in reference to them and not those who are not them).

And Aron is right. I've gotta get the 4th star someday! Plus separating the two threads next to each other...I thought it would make it easier to tell I was joking since they were polar opposites. I am upset that my time was wasted, however I did agree to be in the party and go along with it for as long as I did. Myself (almost would've had to edit for a typo....it would have read 'my elf'...pffft as if I am rich enough to afford one!) and the other two English speaking players included all agreed that it was worth experimenting. However to state the facts a little more clearly:

1. A Rank 6 WHM party leader who casts sneak >> Invis >> reraise >> invis (could be an oversight, however in afterthought I think not)
2. One of the english players died on way to camp (running from secret room to rumble crawlers)
3. After 3 minutes I realized they were both still standing there so I said {Raise} {Please}?
4. One of them went off and didn't have spells on and got killed just outside the room but had reraise on.
5. Other WHM goes over to where they died
6. 1st WHM reraises and gets the same aggro
7. Mob turns on 2nd WHM
8. We run up to help
9. Rumble Crawler aggroes me (we were in the tiny nook between the rumble crawler spawn and the main chamber we had come from...tunnel was full so we ran back there when WHM died).
10. I'm working on sleeping it so not really focusing on much else.
11. Other English player, the Warrior dies
12. Later find out from him he didn't receive a single cure from the WHM who we're healing themselves.

Forgot to mention that the other WHM was rank 5.

[edit]Added the line just above this[/edt]

It's a conspiracy! But, in spite of all the JP vs. NA threads you see out there, you almost never see anything, either way, about the EU players. It's like they're just in their own little pocket world, and nobody really notices them.

Most people probably don't really notice they're parting with EU players if they are speaking English.

I've been in a party with people speaking German maybe... twice? Three times? It's few and far between. I like trying to talk to them in german though =)

I've seen french maybe twice. Spanish maybe even less.
