Hello, Bismarck!Follow

I recently bought the Vana 'Diel collection 2007 and started to play the game. So far so good. I'm a Taru Taru Black Mage named Bosley. Fighting is kind of slow, but that's probably because I've got to sit every few fights to get my MP back. Any tips for a newcomer? Or for an up and coming Black Mage? I'm only level 3 so far.

I've read several posts on this board and you all seem to be pretty friendly and helpful towards one another. It'd be nice to meet some nice people to play the game with. Is it just me or is it kind of barren in Windhurst? I might see the occasional passer by once in a while, but nothing more than that. Are the other cities more populated?

One last newbie question, what's with the question mark next to my name? How do I get rid of that bugger? It bothers me!

That question mark is a beacon of beaming godly light, guiding the rest of us to not interact with you. <3 the boon question mark^^


>.> In all seriousness, yep solo blm at low levels is hell on earth, especially sans subjob :( All I can say is, stick it out, hopefully it'll get better. Lvl 10ish is when you get the all-that-is-glory Valkurm Dunes pt'n. Don't let the Dunes discourage you, Valkurm Dunes is not what it used to be 4 years ago. Not even close.

Yep, ppl are generally nice...in general. You will meet some not-so-nice peeps from time to time, but can't get along with everyone regardless right?

Windurst...is...baren. It's always been baren for the most part. Windurst is too large for its own good, and it takes 37 minutes to run from one end of Windy Woods to the other -.- I avoid Windy at all costs^^

The question mark can be removed in Help Desk > Config > Remove New Adventurer Status. This cannot be undone. Not that you wanna undo it anyway it seems lol.

Anywho, welcome to FFXI. You'll have good times, laughs, and tons of frustration :) And don't let anyone tell you how to play YOUR game, is my advice. They don't pay your monthly fees, you do^^
