A Final FarewellFollow

Well, I have been gone since the end of November but never came on here to say good-bye. Not many people are around that remember or know me with as many new faces as there are, but farewell to all of you. I was there day one when FFXI went live in the US and have been a hardcore player until the last year or so. I was excited about the new expansion and decided to come back for it only to find out I had been hacked. I lost many of the end-game/high-end items I worked hard for (Noble's, Osode, Hagun, etc).

Bad thing is that SE prompted me to change passwords in October, because it was too short, and it wasn't until after that that I got hacked. Looks like the real player security breach got me. I cancelled my account the day I found out I was hacked after receiving the cold shoulder from every GM and SE customer service rep I talked to. I loved this game while I played it and enjoyed the people but, with this final security issue, SE has ensured that I will never buy another SE product again, PC or console.

It was a pleasure knowing all of you. I have another name to add to my sig. Farewell from your local Crazy White Mage Galka.

Damn man. I'm sorry. We saw you come back into LS for a short while. You didn't say anything and then you disappeared.

That's pretty rough, and it is sad that your time on FFXI and indeed Bismarck had to end like this.

Farewell adventurer ;-;

Kahan you got hacked after changing your password also?

I got hacked this passed weekend and the LAZY SE help department SUCKS. "We can't do anything cause we don't know if you sold the account and are trying to get it back or you actually got hacked." Is what they told me, all a hacker needs to do is get into your acount change your CC number and address then SE can't do anything. They told me to call the local authorities and they told me to go the IC3.gov and file a complaint but so far they haven't done crap either, I was suppose to be contacted within 24-48 hours of filing.

How were you able to close your account? They don't believe the account belongs to me which would probably mean I can't cancel mine :(

Get hacked on a Saturday, never see the account again because you can't report it right away due to SE help being closed for weekend :/

For me this is a none offical good bye also,

Torch

They never got to the changing my CC info part. I don't know if they were trying to and I just logged in and changed my info quick enough or what. Both my account and my brother's account ended up with nothing but the R/E gear we had on the accounts and no gil. I don't think they had any desire to use us. They just wanted our gear and gil which was in the 100's of millions amount between the two of us. I did the math and at the current market rate, and me vaguely remembering what I had and is now missing, it equated to almost $7000 in goods stolen. Not to mention the years of monthly fees and time invested into this stupid game. It is so sad that I am forced to quit playing in this manner and SE has no desire to do anything about it. What's even worse is that I, and many others like me, will be boycotting all future SE releases, even console side, because of the events over the last few months. And this is a rampant problem with FFXI and FFXI alone. Other players in other games have resources available to them to recover their stolen accounts and goods. SE just gives us a big ol' ********** YOU!!!"

I think my favorite part of getting the shaft from SE after my phone call with them was that the person nicely asked me to go fill out the the Customer Support Servey after they told me that can't do crap. My first thought was to go bash the crap out of their uslessness but as of now I haven't cared enough to go do anything.

I know what you mean about time you played, I have been playing for 4 years, paying the stupid monthly few and they don't do anything, I'm paying for their dang paychecks, not anymore though. On the huge plus side I didn't go out and WASTE $30 on the new expansion.

SE needs to get their F'n act together or this is going to happen much more cause they don't do anything, their hands are tied. The local authorities have much more importent things to be doing then trying to figure out if a persons account got hacked or stolen, it's SE's job to take care of their customers.

Glad to know that someone wasn't able to make off with your whole account though. I'm glad to say that my account had less then 1M gil on it though :) with selling gear might hit 10 or 15M, so they didn't get much of they were wanting a lot of gilz.

Kahan.

Sorry to see you go especially this way.
But we all have to go at some point or another.

Besides, FFXI sucks.

And you can always find entertainment with pop rocks,
baking soda, peroxide and a lithium battery :DDD
