I know that the idea has probably been thought of but the desire to implement it on a scale that transcends linkshells and is open to the server has not been established. I am posting this idea to bring more attention to a Linkshell that will be formed/launched Monday July 11th 2007 on Bismarck Server.
With the new 2007 Census out, we are all now statistically aware of how dead it is from levels 1 - 74. The SOLE purpose of this linkshell is to organize the wasted time of single job flags and waiting for a party into a more efficient system of "I am in this linkshell, flagged as 72 rdm however I would also like to level my 34 rng, my gimped 25 whm sub or my next 75 job which is 57 nin." It's impossible you say because we cant list job levels.. Thats the hard part, SE doesnt have the function to seek with multiple jobs so even though this isn't the perfect solution, it is a great alternative to LFG 6 hrs.. No luck.
---------
Common examples of how it would work:
Level 70 sam lfg, 12 other players lfg but no mages.
Level 56 pld lfg, 3 other players lfg but not enough players to make a group.
Level 42 rdm lfg, 8 other players lfg but no tanks.
/equip Linkshell: Ask players that are in LS if they got jobs in ?? range.
--
Pros and Cons to the linkshell:
(+)
If the linkshell were to exists and operate in its function, you can /equip linkshell and asks; Any tanks/refreshers lv ?? -> ?? want to party? IF 60+ players were in linkshell hoping to party up with other jobs. The chances that you can find the party members you need/want increase dramatically.
(+)
You go into the linkshell and say "73 blm, 63 thf, 47 rng, 32 mnk. Anyone want to party?" What you can do in the linkshell is broaden you flags to other jobs and levels to other people who are doing the same in hopes that if they get to level something besides what they are seeking as.
(-)
The concept is great however.. It's hard to make it function. If there are not enough players to actively participate in the linkshell, the chances that you will find the jobs and players in the level range of which you seek will yield nothing. You now have 1 slot of inventory wased on a useless pearl.

Rules and code:
Recruitment is open to everyone. No one is excluded. Everyone gets a SACK so that they can recruit and increase the size of the linkshell. The IDEA behind this is to give everyone opportunities to invite more players who are not aware of this project and wish to participate.
Participants in this Linkshell have no obligations to the linkshell. There are no LEADERS, there is no endgame objective and this is not a Mission/Quest linkshell althought the IDEA of creating one is in progress as well.
If you are asking for help, please do not spam as this is not a Help LS. This is not a quest linkshell, this is not a missions linkshell.
(why not put all jobs seeking in search message?)
Search messages are usually occupied so if you want to list your jobs while seeking as something else, do so. It is more efficient to do it like that but most search messages are occupied by the main job that is lfg.
---
The objective of this linkshell is nothing except to organize the now empty leveling areas with players that want to grind and are seeking with multiple jobs in level ranges from 10-75.
We all know it is hard, we all stand there lfg for hours and hours tank or melee, front line or back line.

/tell me if you are interested or have suggestions on improving this suggested function.
I am looking for everyone and anyone with the intent on making life a little easier in FFXI when it comes to leveling for themselves and their friends.
