Oh there was point to this topic ? Sorry, I really missed that part of his post. What is the original point ? Other that he thinks TPburn pts suck and he doesn’t want to do them? Did you bother to actually read what I wrote? And yes, the xp part of ff11 is boring when you have been playing for almost 3 years, I find other things in the game more fun. Also I like to xp with friends mostly, but I do all kind of parties to get xp, doesn’t matter really cause it’s all the same stuff over and over again whether it’s with MBs, skill chains or what ever. If you want a traditional party so bad, why not just ask your linkshell to make a party? Shouldn’t be too hard around 70+ really.
But yeah, all kind of xp/merit/tpburn parties have their good and bad points, but honestly I still don’t see a point in a topic ****** about it. Then soon we might get someone ****** about how slow and crappy traditional parties are? Sigh

Huh? Your post basically said that parties can be fun, what does that have to do with Zander's post?
I am not saying parties can't be fun, I just find them boring when you have played for so long, because all jobs have a certain way they should work in a parties, which makes xp pt = routine and that's what is boring. I also said it was more fun with friends / linkshell :p

Wow this thread got heated. I did a lot of thinking / observing and high level parties are pretty much aimed at one thing;
Maybe this explains why I'm seeing more and more NINs that don't know how to close a skillchain, or more people who haven't a clue as to where the Boyahda Tree is. We as players are becoming so wrapped up in just getting to 75, how well you play your job will soon become a thing of the past. A bit extreme in logic?
Sure. But face it. I haven't been in a party where any form of skillchain was intentionally used in a long time. (outside of skill up, respectfully.)

I think if OP does not get a hostile response for him saying no to TP burn is really what makes him make this thread. He chooses not to TP burn (with reasons he stated in this thread). When people start telling him being "stupid," that probably pop his nerve and post this thread.
Honestly speaking, with less NA players now (or some the big time LSs being ultra exclusive and elitist put them everyone else and make other jealous of them), a lot of NA PT leaders take it too personally when someone say no to their PT, and start shooting BS against that person who said no, like calling them "stupid for not accepting TP burn" "racist JPs" or whatever.
People should have respect his choice, and let him do what he wants. It is really his choice (even for a reason that you may not agree). He certainly entitles for his opinion, his right to say no, and his right to discuss his opinion. Calling him arrogant is trying to silence his opinion, and its a violation of freedom of speech.

I think TP burn parties, in and of themselves, aren't that bad. It's a way for some jobs to get xp. It's a problem when it becomes so dominant that people will tolerate no other way to party.
Also, TP burn can be taken to unhealthy extremes, as in the format:
Tank
Melee DD
Melee DD
Melee DD
Melee DD
RDM
I have been that lone RDM on many, many occasions and, while the xp is fast, a lone mage does get "burned" out pretty fast that way. Please, let us mages work in pairs.

replace "Tank" or one of the "Melee DD" with a brd-rdm-whm and its fine.
