I am Back! ^^ Hello!
For FreeLance and other newbies (and some noobs), here is a quick guide to the Dunes mobs and camps when you are just starting in the area:
Lizards (non-aggro): Your very first Dunes victims, usually. All I can say about them is, watch out, they link very well.
Rabbit's (non-aggro): Same as lizzies.
Sheep (non-aggro): Hit fooking hard and they link. Mid-dunes level prey.
Bats outside of the tunnels, nighttime. (non-aggro): Meh!
Goblins (aggro sight): These are one of only three Dunes mobs that aggro in the daytime (except for the occasional NM pop). The bats in the tunnels being another, and the rare bomb. As in any area, avoid aggro by going behind them. If they turn while you are still within sight and you are not near a zone, slap it, then suck it up and die like a brave adventurer. Then hope a higher level mage or pld in the area finds you and gives you a raise. Good xp for a full party. Bomb toss can be a bit of a pain, though ... literally.
The bats in the tunnels (aggro sound): If you are by yourself and get aggro'd by these, nice knowing you. Same as Gobbie aggro except they, of course, aggro sound, so going behind them is a pointless strategy.
Crabs (non-aggro): Kinda the same as the lizzies, except they don't link.
Pugils (non-aggro): Make sure you and your party are ready for these before you pull. A single pugil can wipe a whole party in under a minute. And a well placed screwdriver is never good news.
Flies (non-aggro): I didn't fight a lot of these at dunes level, but my guess is good xp at mid-dunes level with a very good party. Their AoE attacks are wicked. They do link.
Leeches (non-aggro): These are a big "NO NO!" at any point while at Dunes level. They link fast and from a fair distance and they are never alone. If you mis-target and hit one of these, do not expect any assistance from your party. Or your PL'er, for that matter. Die, let the PL'er raise you and take your medicine. Been there, Done that! lol. A good macro for avoiding mis-targeting is /attack < bt > . A note on using this macro, if a second mob is hit, accidentally or otherwise, before you hit your attack macro, < bt > will always target the second mob. So, if you are a little more savvy with your macro's, you can go with /attack < stnpc > and get the little purple arrow you can move around to get your intended target. Then hit enter or the appropriate button on your controller. Again, just to stress the point: Leeches = No No!
Ghoul's and Bogy's (aggro sound): Ahh ... the creatures of the night. A good party of mid-dune level can, or should, be able to handle the ghouls. Bogy's, however, will chew you up and leave your remains in a heap on the sand.
Gobbie Hill: For the semi-advanced Dune-ee's. Watch for the ghouls at night.
Secret Beach: For the advanced Dune-ee's. Good xp to level 20. Bogy's pop within a very close range of the camps... good luck if partying here at night.
NM's: Golden Bat (2 spawn locations), Valkurm Emperor.
Other mobs: Elementals (aggro magic), and Bomb's (aggro sight and magic).
Any improvements on this list are welcomed and encouraged. Dunes is a major lol area in the game, let's keep it humorous! ^^
