At the following time, we have performed a version update of FINAL FANTASY XI.

The purpose of this update is to counter the inappropriate methods that were being used on the certain quest to earn the profit continuously.

As we have mentioned before, the use of any third-party equipment or software to change or modify the game in any way is strictly prohibited. If you come across such software, we ask that you please refrain from using it, no matter how minor it may appear to be.
We thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

* This update consists of a version upgrade of the client program. When you press the play button after the time stated below, the version upgrade will begin automatically. Please follow the instructions on the screen.

[Affected Period]
Jan. 16, 2007 12:00 (PST)

[Affected Services]
FINAL FANTASY XI

[Important Update Details]
Requirements to receive the quest "An Explorer's Footsteps" have been changed to the following.
- Requires a certain amount of Fame to receive the quest.
- Players are now asked to wait for 1 earth day (past 7:00 PST) in order to receive another quest.

So I'm guessing the past update rectified this. I just think it stinks for the legit players. Now getting the Crawler's Nest map is going to take forever. (Luckily I got mine a few months ago)

Another classic example of why SE sucks so much. They could be "investigating" RMT, but ... no. They find a problem with a quest, "fix" it according to the geniuses over there, and d|ck over the majority of player base they have.

Someone's got their head up their ***...

*sighs*

Guess I'll never complete this quest now -.-;;;

How is it that you have almost two level 75 jobs and you've never completed a simple fetch quest?

I got that map when I was in my 40's... solo.
Not that hard to get Garlinge(sp) one. I just found out Roc ToD and waited for the swarm of people running through gates :P

That update might **** me off if I didn't know CN pretty much by heart.

You get lost and die in a place thirty or forty times, you start to figure out where everything is.

It's still scary though when there isn't any elemental weather...it gets really dark and you can't see anything. Real easy to get turned around. It's like SSG kinda (cept less scary). When there is weather in SSG I'm fine..I can see and I don't panic..but when there isn't weather I kinda do a quick dash through the area to get where I am going.

I've been playing the game since the PS2 release... and I think I got about halfway through the CN map quest on Arelios before deciding it was pointless, and never even bothered flagging it on Fawkes.

CN's pretty basic, SE just likes to complicate things.

Yes, I did decide it was pointless. But after I saw the update... well, I'm not gonna do it at all.

Especially since I have the atlas (which also sucks in many ways) and there's a map of it in there.

You think that since the update, the ddos attacks are coming back? because these failed to connect problems just seem similar.

Have you guys noticed the same people putting teleport, warp, mage ballad, nin scrolls at the AH? I'm not sure if these are RMTs also, but kind of suspicious selling 15 teleport-dem scrolls in a week. I'm not sure if this is new, but I've been monitoring it for couple months now.
