Well, here we go…. I’m out..from the game…! Simply shocking isn’t it!? And it was quite a painful and lenghtly (had thoughts since the end of August at least) decision to do too. Its always funny to see so many people disappear without leaving traces, but lets not do that and make a painfully long explanation about what lead me to such a choice.
It seems such long time ago when I got this game. And many adventures came but all good things must come to a end. That’s how is pretty much time to leave Vanadiel.
Many reasons made me come up with that result. One of the main reasons is obviously the lack of time. Going in university, having a goal to succeed while enjoying the life of a student, keeping in touch with friends and having a job is certainly a busy schedule to keep up with. So, the perspective of being looking for party for few decades as a Drk or Pld (only party jobs that I really liked) isn’t quite the idea of “funâ€. And Given the low-free time, it is also hard to commit with a static. Asking several brave people to hold out when I can’t log on for few weeks (read: Mid-terms,etc) is something I don’t feel right. I won’t make any comment about the Time that can be wasted in End-game activities for some items that mainly enlarge the e-peen of some people who just can’t seem to do anything better.
Of course, the other issues are mostly related to game-balance, the odd situation of End-game and SE’s idiotic sense job balancing. And these issues played a big role into the decision. And now, time for a little rant (with some foul language!) about that (feel free to skip that):
Utsusemi… that… abomination…
I’ve never seen such a ****** and idiotic skill in my life. Seriously. About every magic in the game is affected by its corresponding Skill except this one. A skill that >will< absorb entirely any single target attack/magic/TP moves (very few exceptions exist) regardless of the level of the caster and the enemy… can you get any more lazy than that? The un-real absorbing power is untouched regardless of anything at all. A lvl12 Nin could eat a 4K AM from a lvl100 NM (or anything else really) and always survive as long Utsu is up. Of course, there are things that destroy shadows fast, and are usually avoided (thus irrevelant, since it is has in they didn’t exist). Also, the limited amount of shadows per person is irrelevant, since if you get a full party (or alliance), it is very likely to just have a gajillion /nin anyway.
Further more, the attitude toward that is quite annoying. About every ******* time something hard show up… the universal solution always seem to ***** off from /nin. Geez… learn to think by yourself for a sec and accept the limits of your jobs. Also… its always quite amusing to see some folks think themselves all good because they can get “the uber expâ€(or anything else that got TP-burned) and yet they leech on a overpowered skill all day long for the “achievementâ€. Pure Genius! The less funny part is when a big number of jobs get left out at a considerable level just for some folk to be “efficientâ€. There are 19 jobs in this game, not just 5. The hypocrysis(sp) that so many useful jobs of end-game that get royally screwed in end-game exp cause some ******** just want his merits asap is quite annoying. I’ll just hold my tongue more on that as it could be discussed for aeons.
The reason we got to such a sad state of affair could be discussed for aeons. However, the solutions to solve to actually make about every job equal would just take such a massive change from so many game-dynamics (and cause quite a bit of whining) that, I believe, SE is not likely to change anything relevant anytime soon to affect the unbalance.
And that’s it for ranting. And let’s not get started about RMT and End-game (ya know.. stuff like Ulli! and retarded NM pop conditions/drop rate).
Altought many aspect of the game are flawed and won’t be missed, but the story and environment of Vanadiel will be. And then, there is also this “community†feeling that kinda end up making up the choice even harder. But these can be founded elsewhere and without the frustration. So it’s a dilemma between a flawed balance (which does kinda make you sad) along with the frustrations and the world in itself along with the positive aspects of it.
At a certain point, it is a hard decision, leaving so many people, so many memories (even bad ones), but everything has an end eventually.
Just let me know if anyone wants to keep in contact. (if that would ever happen, haha >.>) Would be kinda nice to keep part of that “communityâ€.
Farewell & Take care
P.S. it’s likely I’ll still lurk around >.>.
