I've been checking the besiged statuses everytime I log in and all 3 forces are allways at 99. People have been telling me that they happen in the am or on certain days but it appears to me that besiged is no longer as frequent as it used to be. I haven't had the pleasure of being in one since the update. Does it seem like it's broken to anyone else or is there a certain time that they generally happen nowadays?

It's not broken. More people are xp'ing/meriting in the strongholds now which keeps the enemies at bay longer. After the update, if ppl dont go there and kill enemies, according to the update info, the beastmen will grow stronger and gather enough forces to attack. At least thats how it is supposed to work.

I haven't been on all that much lately but there is the appearance of there being less beseiges happening. This could be due to the level at wich they are attacking. I have only seen 3 since the update and all have been level 2 meaning they are only building up for a short time thus making it a lot less noticeable.

If still happens. We had a level 1 Mamool Ja raid last night. Decimator Mabel Ja is an interesting NM. Took out probably 20-30 people with a couple of well-placed -aga III's. I hear Hundred-Faced Something-or-other is another interesting, if painful, Mamool Ja NM.

There were a few changes made to the enemy forces accumulating when the version update happened. Aside from the addition of various NMs for each Beastman army, the spawn rate changed.

More archaic mirrors spawn in the strongholds, and they spawn faster, and the more of these that exist, the faster the enemy forces grow.

If a particular NM has spawned in a stronghold, enemy numbers will increase faster.

If someone dies in an enemy stronghold, enemy forces will increase faster.

As soon as the enemy retreats, they start accumulating power again.

There are other factors as well, but I have not seen any of the enemy forces showing on the region map at below 99 since the changes, which makes me think this is the new minimum default, as opposed to 75 as it used to be. Due to the faster spawn rates, we're not as likely to see enemy forces in any one stronghold go "extinct" like they used to.

But yeah, Besieged does still happen. There are just other factors involved now which govern how soon they occur.

A good point, but still, it's almost impossible to anticipate attacks anymore, making it very difficult, sometimes. I can't always just drop what I'm doing and haul butt for Al Zhabi, in a matter of minutes. It was nicer knowing a half hour, or even an hour beforehand (watching them "in training") and knowing when I had to be moving.

I haven't done a single beseiged, since the update, because I keep missing them.

It looks like they tend to get pissed off when a mirror is destroyed and attack soon after, if they have 99 forces at the time. However lately, that's not happening very often. :p

Though I've been shying away from them lately. Even at Lv1 it's still way to easy to be oneshot and if you ask me, Weakened shouldn't be active during the event. But this is just coming from someone who got floored the instant he got raised about 5 times in a row because he couldn't see anything around him (not even the Raiser) when he accepted. >.<

I don't like the new changes to how often beseiged happens now. Case in point; The other day I took a look at the beseiged map and none of the forces were above 40 (undead are constantly at 0 now). I figured no way there was going to be a beseiged for a long time. About an hour later I warp to whitegate only to see that the Mamool had broken the defence line....I was thinking wtf.....how did that happen so quick. Look at beseiged map and it was a level 1 attack. It took like 10 minutes and it was over.

I don't think the time it takes for them to get to Al Zhabi after the attack has been signaled that has changed, it is just the fact they are attacking at level 1 and 2 now and rarely at lvl 3-5. So yes anticipating is getting more difficult. Unless you check your beseiged map every half hour, there is a good chance you may miss it.

I know if I see a group building up, I can still wait for it to switch to attacking, have enough time to run a zone or choco a couple zones, warp back, change jobs and still have a fair bit of time to spare.
