I recently changed to bismark server, just wanted to try something new, considering already had a caped job on other server. I was member of Army Of Darkness linkshell. I have nothing good to say about the shell at the moment, actually more or less the leader Youngbuck; also goes by quietstorm, lacks the experience, and ppl person skill to manage a ls. Unfortunatly others in ls have to suffer for him.
Example >> I mention that i will one day need a high lv ls and a dynamiss one, when i am at that lv. For that I was kicked, even after stating that i would always be a loyal member of shell. I am not the only member to have been kicked for stupidity and childish reasons. Let all be warned, loyalty to Army of Darkness (and the leader youngbuck), may effect end game. He has made too many enemies . Any high lv will tell you that making enemies is not the best thing to do. Can effect end game like high lv linkshell invites and so on. P.S. I have also checked and he is part of the players to look out for
Meh, majority of the entire LS is more or less a complete idiot. I have dealt with several members, none of them were the brightest or friendliest people in the world.
Example 1) Was in the dunes and I had a bad pull on my way to camp and died. Somehow that makes me a noob to one of their members. I mouthed off to him a little bit, but decided no reason arguing with someone who has less intelligence then my cat.
Example 2) Was in the dunes (again, I know). Well I was starting a party and asked a WAR to party (who was fighting DC mobs right in front of me), and when he didn't answer I told him that I was standing next to him and would at least like a response. At which point his exact words were "I don't respond to noobs". I said a few mean words (mainly about him being WAR/PLD and saying he had 30 more defense then normal WAR that level -.-;;), but just blacklisted him after he ran out of excuses and had no other insults other then calling me a noob.
=/ In all, I blatantly say that they are an LS full of gimps and retards, best to just stray away in my opinion.

Bad Players List {Please Check It} my post maybe page 14 or 15 all about Youngbuck.
Most of the shell are morons who don't think about what they do or say.
I maybe a little level 15 at the time in the dunes but by the time you try out for the HNMLs I'm in you will get a big NO. They don't think about that, don't **** off too many people or your going to be camping JEJ for the rest of your FFXI days for gil. And never see a God without looking at pic here.

nuff said. Not only did they steal that from my old LS and a few others that were around long before them, but they blatantly abuse that macro and it pisses me off.

Wow, talk about generalisation. I'm a member of that LS and yeah, some of them are jerks, but every time I've pt'd with them they all seem competant and are generally a really nice bunch of people.
How about.. if you don't like them, ignore them and get on with enjoying the game.

Ignoring them only goes so far, like the AoD Gang Sign can be chat filter'ed, but when it comes to being incompetent and general disrespect for others in parties or in your own Linkshell then please explain how you ignore that?
Put it this way your in the Ls full of @ssholes/morons/disrespectful bunch your going to be flagged as such BECAUSE of the pearl you wear.
People see say 10 people they've been in a group with all act them same so it's going to be a good bet anyone else in the Ls are going to be the same.

Ya know, Ive never really paid attention to this until I saw this thread. I am a Sandy Citizen and have my HP set there to finish of my Golden Fleece.
I run to the guild daily to turn in my item of the day. Yesterday, on my normal run from MH to guild, I see "Armyofdarkness recruits a new soldier" or something like that via an emote. All I could think at the moment was, poor sucker(The new soldier).
Last evening I was out camping VE on my THF and I happen to run across this player who seemingly had no friends and was quite a lonely sole. The name was long but it started with "Ice". I came to the lonely conclusion after seeing "Icewhateverblahblah flashes the Armyofdarkness gang sign to the Goblin Gambler" Then to the Damselfly, then to the Thread leach and so on.
Now I have nothing against this LS and yea, I have read the horror stories here.
My question is..Where is the NPC to buy the ****** Detector?

lol You know that is one of the best things I think I have read lately between this thread and the players to look out for. The thing is, I never really understood the whole /em throws up the gang sign AOD blah blah blah, especially when you get a party of them and they ALL do it over and over again to each member of AOD... oh and did I mention that the majority of them actually spell the SIGN part as SING? Yeah, that's always a blast to see... I'm actually quite thankful that I spent most of my time in my other shell rather then that one.. well and throwing it out worked even better, but still, you cannot escape them. They are like cockroaches at the moment... Even a bomb wouldnt kill them

I use to be a member of the AoD but promtly left after I found out they were all morons lol. As for that 'ice' person in the dunes that was probably icenatune lol (or something like that) and yeah the whole ''throws AoD gang sign up in the air'' is a bunch of ********* they do it all around Jeuno and it is annoying.
I was leveling up my summoning skill today at the W.Ron gate. Then I see two AoD people, and they just kept spamming there gangsign emote. They are really annoying
Aye I've seen it too. lol One gave me the sign and then asked me for 20k. XD

Maybe the Signs thing is a little obnoxious, but it's also a sense of pride for those of you who think it's a noob gig. Hardly any of our ls members are kicked that this stage in the game, the ls has alot of fairly new ppl in it, that's why it's not so great, I'm only 58 with one job and50 with the next, and I'm almost the highest one in the Ls, so I'm also respected. I'm fairly sure you have Youngbuck incredibally misunderstood on several accounts. He could be an @$$ from time to time, but he's like any other @$$ in FFXI, and I don't see THEM on the bad players list. Oh, and feel free to judge me by the ls you've never been in, sure it's not the greatest ls in the world, but at least we're trying. If you bash me I just come back you know, and I'm not a very unlikable person at all. but people in FFXI, and in real life, judge people with out knowing them, I guess it's typicall human behavior. But I'll have you know, if you got a problem, work it out, it's not like we're some "untouchable" ls, and there's many, MANY awesome ppl in our ls REGARDLESS of lvl, rank, or w/e. Bashing our ls won't do you any good. Like Fear here? Oh yeah, I had a talk with her, because she said AoD was on a whole bunch of ppls bad side. I Myself (relitivley new to the ls) was shocked. AoD a bad ls? She's gotta be jokin, but after she spoke with me, she decided to give it another chance(after leaving my ptin a desperate stage, forcing it to disband) but still wouldn't make up with th ls leader. But if you got a problem, or any concerns, or info. Speak with me, Nattaku. I'm going to set this straight.

You obviously didnt read many posts in this thread. A few people who have added to this thread are former members which in turn means.....They have been on the inside..

Well go ahead and make your /blist, since you probably hate me already...
But I just wanna say that we are about helping new guys out, not the higher lvls. You WILL see, from time to time, members acting out of line.
Some of them don't mean to since they are new, but we have had a few bad apples.
The "gang sign" is cool for new guys because it gives them a sense of pride and teamwork. Sure it may be annoying, but give 'em a break,
they're having fun.
Youngbuck does get a little out of hand, he does need to understand that most people will leave because they grew out of the LS,
but the ones that stay are there to help with new guys constantly coming in. I love AoD for that one reason.
If you have beef with a member, just /blist and get over it. Don't judge the entire LS over a few bad encounters.

It's those few members who are acting out that is giving your LS a bad rep. but the rest of you from my point of view aren't being judged any the poorer. Just idiotic and annoying to see those members being complete tards not once, not twice, but very very frequently.

If you think this, I think you ought to read through this entire thread again. Our entire LS is being judged by one or two members, which is rediculous.
Personally, I became a member of AoD just after I returned from a few months' break. They were all incredibly friendly and made me remember why I liked the game so much. Thanks to them I've completed many quests and climbed a few ranks, done a few things (eg. Garrison) that I wouldn't have been able to without them. Fair enough I could do this with any other LS, but the point is, I wouldn't want to.
They're all wonderful people and don't deserve this.

I agree with Gamion that its very annoying to see the sign flashed as often as it is. The only other thing that bothers me is that there are a few rude players in the shell.
I typically don't mind being checked in game. I do mind when its the same couple of people from the same shell checking my not once, not twice but somewhere in the range of 10 times in about a minute then using a point emote to make others of your same linkshell check.
I have no clue who the 3 were nor do i care. I only know they were AoD because i've taken to the habit of checking people back when i get examined multiple times. You get some interesting lol's from them sometimes.

Aperently you are an other one that cant read. It has been adressed from former members that ********* is not the only fktard in the shell,lol
theres no reason to be arrogant ******* just cause you dont like what the LS does.
i am a member of that LS not once have i used the gang sign emote, i just dont like it my self but if you dont like it just filter it out. you should get to know some of the people that are in the LS before you talk S@*( about them. Some are jerks some are idiot but not all are that way...
