It's good your thinking outside the box.
But it won't work for a few reasons.
One is you won't be able to get hate fast enough like provoke does. So the monster would be all over.
And you won't get very many invites without the /war. Reason is above.

I've actually heard of a PLD/WHM main healing when there was no other healers around.

It's possible, but not very common. You obviously won't be tanking.

Actually this is a great parallel to my other thread!

What would be some great roles for paladins to be in as support (or even DD!) if we are thinking out of the box with jobs.

Can you imagine a, let's say, PLD/DRG? Or hell, what about PLD/DRK?! Holy cow, think of the damage and defense that one would give, let alone seeing a DD pally with a jump attack! MNK/PLD might even be a somewhat viable solo because of the vitality and strength it lends as well as the curative and protective magic.

a PLD could actually benefit from /RNG if they are using a Gsword.

RNG's get ACC(10acc) up at 10

So as a 20PLD/RNG you might be able to hit something with a Gsword
Having RNG leveled as a sub is a good idea for skillup PT's

heh you'd like to think that, i tank Hakutaku as a pld/nin with no voke and held hate off 17 other people in the alliance for 7 fights. its all how good you are and what you use. i say try it, if you dont like it then go back to pld/war.

pld/drk ---- yes please i would love to see a pl tanking and use last resort + soul eater to do a little extra dmg on a ws and get completely ***** slapped by the mob.

Monkey, did you ever get that ALL PLD party going that you posted about way back?

PLD/NIN
PLD/RNG
PLD/WHM
PLD/DRK
PLD/THF <--SATA Spinning Slash is Tasty
BLM/PLD <--Somebody has to be able to warp us all home when done!

Many other possibilities but it would be fun to try.
