I know there are other threads like this, and even one's that are Stickied at the top of this forum but this is just for those that need the extra help finding info.

The web has many great resources. This will just help you find them easier in regards to crafting. This site has many things to offer though it will not be the only site I link to. Just from this one site alone a person could probable find most everything they need to know to both begin, and take crafting to the advanced levels. FFXI-Somepage ~~~ A great site to look up much needed ingredients and where to get them. Just do an item search and if it can be bought from a Vendor, it will tell you precisely where that vendor is, and how much it is sold for. A big help when you want to save gil.

FFRecipe ~~~ Excellent website that helps you calculate the cost of synthing an item. Still learning how to use it.

That's about all that I ever use and it works wonderfully. One of the keys to crafting is it's not just all about going and crafting right away.
