Just because I am growing to hate almost everything about the AH.. I am offering my services. I know that no one will probably ask, but I am willing to synth sole sushi at cost for anyone that brings me all the ingredients, including the crystal. I would rather they be there with me, because I don't want anyone to think it is a scam or anything.

You may want to talk to Zariko in game as well. I believe he is thinking along the same lines and going to try to farm and craft to circumvent the AH. Maybe you two can work together.

I think anyone who is willing to help in this manner totally rox. Jaden and Gamion have both helped me on many occasions whether it was an NM hunt or my ZM's. I can speak to their selflessness and how impressed I am with them.

I'll throw my hat in this ring also, I know Jaden and Gamion too, and of course we all know Derz heh. But seriously bring the goods I'll craft what you like and if it HQs good for you!! No fee for time or looking for donations. I'm also 30 in Alchemy and should be 60ish by the end of next week if all goes well, so soon you can come to me for bullets and some bolt heads, but for now I can do Silent oils

All I, and I'm sure the others feel the same, ask is that you please don't go sell what we craft for you. that just escalates the issue and makes us part of it.

While we are on this subject, because I am ungodly sick of the prices for items in game, I'll lend my Alchemy skills. I am @ level 80 and can HQ a boat load of stuff. If you want to bring me materials I will more than Gladly HQ and synth them.
Prism Powders - Light Crystal Glass FiberX2 Artifical LenseX1 ( I can also make the Artificial lense using Glass FiberX2 and Fire crystal) I usually make 8-10 powders at a time and common to make 12 at a time.
Beeswax- Fire Crytal Beehive ChipX3 and distilled WaterX1
Mercury- Lightning Crystal Cobalt JellyfishX4

I am still leveling Alchemy, so hit me up in game, and I will make your synths 100% FREE of charge.

I have to say that I am really proud of the small effect that whatever has made on sole sushi. The price of the black sole has fallen to 40k and rice holding steady at 30k. so now it costs even less to make it. It is still selling for 70k though? For the record I would like to state that every stack of sushi that I put on the AH will go for 50k. So when you buy it... check for that.

As for my previous offer, it still stands. No one has contacted me about making any for them, bur i am still willing. That goes for anything that I can synth on cooking.

I too will synth cooking stuff for people if they give me the ingredients and catch me while I'm not busy. My character is Solitaire, and I have 98+1 cooking. Drop me a tell if you're interested.

Without fishing/crafting bots and low lvl fisherman being able to catch sole (thanks SE), your sole sushi prices would be even higher. Sole sushi is a VERY nice food which SHOULD be prohibitively expensive to many players. Everyone can't have the best, but I guess that's not the attitude in the game. People want to start out with 99,999,999 gil and all items, and make sure there is no danger anywhere (MPK patch all right). Lame. Thanks for trying to lower the price of an item that should be worth alot more.

Finally! Someone who's talking about VALUE, not price. People have no understanding that 32k -> 80k for sole sushi is barely a difference at all, because anymore it's just as easy to make 80k as it used to be to make 32k... Just because 80k is a bigger than 32k, they just go 'omgwtfWRONG'.

Is Sole Sushi a bargain at 80k? That's a good question, but it's purely academic. Though I do appreciate someone alluding to value, it's largely nonsensical to say an item "should" cost more. Items are priced based on supply and demand. Obviously not enough people were willing to pay 100k per stack, a backlog of 100k sushi built up and it was taking forever to sell, so the price went down as people undercut each other to stay in business. What ought sole sushi to cost? Whatever people will consistently pay, that's what. You should not complain when things are made a bargain- if you think that 80k is a bargain price, that is POSITIVE. It means more people can do better in parties with... YOU! If everyone had the best food and gear YOU WOULD NOT SUFFER. All of your parties would be better and the game would be a lot more fun... Therefore, if party enhancing items like sole sushi go down in price, you should be cheering, not spewing your elitist bile on us.

Edit: And then I read your sig and see that you have fishing at 95. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah! That's hilarious, thank you. ^.^ And... then, scarily, your hint at how fishbots are a good thing appears in a not-so-positive light. I wonder how you'd like a GM investigation for botting...?

WHOA buddy... I have worked very hard in fishing for almost 2 years and NEVER EVER used any automated tool. Anyone who knows me ingame can tell you that (or in RL lmao). I do, however, need to apologize for some of my previous post. My beef is with SE. The fishing patch IMHO was like the MPK patch. I know my point of view is somehow invalid on Alla because I fish and play BST, but both patches ARE obviously **** poor solutions to problems that should have been dealt with by actively monitoring trouble zones and banning people. These patches have made the game less fun because they make things too easy. Maybe some people like having things handed to them, but I don't. Under the old fishing system, you could MAYBE get one or two sole if you spent hours trying at lv30. Now you can fish them fairly consistently. A lv96 cap fish. There are still bots, just like there are still RMTs who act like jerks. I don't mind the fish "fight" so much, but this system allows low level fishermen to catch high level fish way too easily. There are not really rewards JUST for high lvl fishers, except being able to flag Ebisu quest, and unless that rod lets you kick all non-veteran fishers offline at will, I don't really see how it's going to help you make more gil. I still fish because I enjoy it, but I miss the days when a Ryugu Titan was really "legendary."

I don't PT much. I prefer crafting, fishing, and soloing BST. I do enjoy PTs on occaison. However, everyone having the best items without working for them is NOT my idea of fun, and sole sushi is a very high end food, made from a very high end fish. It SHOULD be more expensive (relative to other foods, think value here), because supply should be MUCH lower. Thanks to the wonderful business saavy of Square-Enix, however, supply of black sole is usually flooded. You're dead on about inflation, but you had me pegged all wrong otherwise.

pfft the game has been out forever, the days where anyone who had highlevel fishing had to be a bot due to how long it took are long gone.

With the new system I got fishing 0-30 in 2 1/2 days, fishing is just easier now, I was fishing up Bluetails and Noble Ladies like nothing in the 20s and hell those cap in the 80s if I remember correctly.

Things are just easier w/ fishing.

Case in point.

This person got to 30 way too fast and is catching fish they don't even know the cap for. This is what FFXI is becoming.

Either fishing 0-30 in 2 days is a lie, an exaggeration, or every fishing guide I have ever read is RETARDED!

Off-topic, can I actually just go target black sole and skill up ultra fast, instead of what I've been trying to do which is catch fish of my level? Everything I've seen points to NO GODDAMN WAY. Even on fish that are somewhat above my cap, I have to fight for my life; every high fisher seems to agree that it's simply impractical to catch fish above cap 50 without a Lu Shang's. Hell, I have fishing 36 and gave up skilling on black eels until I got a Lu Shang's because they were just such a headache. Is there something I don't know here?

Rielist, I apologize for the veiled accusation about botting. You just worded your post in a way that made me wonder; precise wording does pay off since people are less likely to misunderstand you like that :P My long laughing thing is appreciating the amusing irony of a seasoned fisher believing that prices should be higher on his goods.

But it isn't just Alla that believes a fisherman arguing for higher fish prices is invalid (or less valid), it's the rules of rhetoric in general. When a fisherman argues that his fish should sell for higher because of, say, how awesome those fish are, he has what is known as a vested interest. Vested means hidden- you have a true purpose for wanting fish to raise in price, one that you are not calling attention to because that fact would weaken your overall point. The real point you're making when you, a fisherman, say that fish should cost more, is that you want more money, so your objectivity and thus your credibility are thereby seriously compromised, if not destroyed. If a man stands to benefit greatly (at my expense) if I follow his reasoning, then I should be suspcious; maybe he's not telling me the whole story, because he is definitely invested in the situation. An objective observer who will neither gain nor lose from any path I take (ie a non-fisherman in this case) can make a much more trustworthy argument about what fish prices should be; it's much more sensible to listen to him since he has no interest in the situation other than, ostensibly, separating truth from falsehood and discovering the proper course of action.

So. There you go. And please tell me about the magic 2-day skillup thing, pm me if you want ;_;

Oops, I think I just pissed off some people.
