My Dear Bismarckians friends, pals, and compatriots:
Yes, I borrowed Phyree's trademarked subject! And I will do it again, so sue me! :)
The purpose of this thread is to bid you all my final farewell. Yes, this bald-headed, blue-tatooed, clothcrafting, ninja-subbing White Mage is finally retiring from Vana'Diel, after a near-perfect 3 year run.
I must admit, I suffer from severe ADD and, for a game to keep my attention for as long as this one did, it must be a pretty darned good and challenging one.
Not only it is a good game, I was incredibly lucky to end up on a server where the great majority of the population is incredibly friendly and helpful. I thank you all for that. Now, the economy... that's a whole different story! But I digress.
Unfortunately, as it seems to happen to all of us (even though we never want to admit it), everything runs its course. It seems mine has. I find myself logging on to FFXI just to stare blankly at the screen for hours and hours, with no desire to quest, kill, level up or even craft.
I have, therefore, decided to cancel my membership, effective January 30th, 2006.
I am 0.2 points away from lv100 clothcraft. Don't ask me why, but I will be working on getting those 0.2 points before I leave the game on the 30th. I just thought it would be a very funny screenshot of "Your clothcraft level reaches 100", followed by one of the main FFXI screen asking "Are you sure you want to delete this account?" ;)
But until then, I wish you all great luck, good adventuring and prosperous gil-making.
So long, fellow Bismarckians. I will miss you all. Yes, all of you, even those I've never met. It's a White Mage thing.
Yours trully,
-Apollonious.
