Dumbest change from update..Follow

#1 Dec 15 2005 at 12:26 AM Rating: Decent
Ok, this isnt a rant, but im still a bit in shock.
As most of you have now noticed, while looking for a party, you check to see who else is looking, and now..you notice everyone from every lv who is also looking..... this sux.

And for me, this is why. I have turned to lving whm, which is at lv 10, therefore, im in hell, aka the dunes. I havent had 1 bit of party xp to this point, yet i have 4 parties. None that ive been lead for...but here is how everyone of them has went down.

1st pt- 3 members, lv range 10-12, lead invites a 19 blm
2nd pt- 2 members, lv range, both lv 10, lead invites a 16 drg (ew :P)
3rd pt- 5 members, lv range 10-12, lead invites a lv 20 war
And the worst one of them all so far....
4th pt- 4 members, lv range 10-13, the asshat leader invites....a lv 65 whm...O_O w...t....h...

I hope either they fix this, or i hope thier is a way to change it, and then post all over the place, that this can be changed...cuz this is bad....atleast..i think so.

I miss when only a few months ago, that like 75% of the people in the dunes were all rank 8+, now i guess its more like 10%...

Ah well, xbox...damn you! :P

Yes I've heard a couple horror stories about this too and before I heard this example from a friend, this patch seemed inconvenient at its worst.

But yes, the true newbies in the Dunes are really going to do a number over on some parties there. It's not really their fault, but it's not pleasant.

Best case scenario, perhaps it'll teach them the importance of keeping the levels close. Worst case, the Dunes becomes an even more arduous 10 levels than it already is (and you thought it wasn't humanly possible! :p).

Hang in there everyone...

what happened to /sea all invite x-x? is that also fooked?
#4 Dec 15 2005 at 7:57 AM Rating: Decent
The /sea all 10-** still works, it's when you go to the menu and choose party > find members it pulls up all ppl close lfg. You can still filter that.

I never use the find member function so this hasn't really hit me, I just use the /sea all inv XX-XX thingy.

There is an easy way to filter the search funtion. Just hit the enter button again right after you search and you can filter by level, race, area, allegiance etc. It is actually quite robust. Of course with all the other things to learn in this game, I guess some newer players probably won't figure that out for a while. So teach them! ^^

it's not the change which is stupid, it's the people. It would seem obvious that a person 6 times your level could not xp with you.

Moreso, people don't talk in groups anymore. I mean, how hard is it, if you have no clue, to ask your fellow group members: "what kind of level range should I look for ?"

What I am wondering - did the 65 whm ACCEPT the invite? Or was the leader shut down (I am hoping, as probably everyone else is)

If a lvl 65 accepted an invite to the dunes, for an EXP party, not expecting to be a PL, then there is something seriously wrong.

Sometimes people accept blind invites without asking why they are invited, or simply the WHM didn't check who was inviting him/her. I mean, if you've been LFT for 4 hours straight, when you get a PT invite, even without a message, we can't blame someone to be too damn glad to have a group to check before accepting the invite :p

That's it. If you give someone a pistol to defend him/herself and that he/she shoots him/herself in the foot, it's his/her fault, not yours :p

<.<;; Well if someone is dead I don't think they can sue you... and if I get arrested I would say justifiable homicide!

Eh, I dont always feel like typing out /sea all members Blah-blah.

If i'm leader, with a chain heavy group...the quick look for memebers function was GRAND, not always typing something out...waiting...then looking.

I dont know WHAT the point was of changing...It really doesnt seem to have a purpose. Why do I need to see the War/whm level 16 looking for a party as a 58 rdm?

Pointless? Kinda!

Please. A bullet to the head? There's no need for unnecessary murder. Just shoot his/her reproductive organs; that'd solve the problem quite nicely. ;)
