I was thinking about running it again, but I was really disheartened by how many dishonest people participated last year and screwed over the people who were in it for fun. If people really want it again I'll resurrect it.

Oh....i didnt know there was alot of people whogot screwed last year.....:/ Well that sorta sucks...:(

The people who got screwed were almost as bad.

I wouldn't blame Byaina in the least if she didn't feel like going through that crap again.

I'm kinda doing a small wishlist deal for our LS. Pretty much LS members list their "wishlist" and we try to fulfill at least one item on their wishlist.

What about doing that for the rest of Bismarck? It doesn't necessarily have to be item oriented like wishing for a Nobles Tunic or O. Kote. But rather focus on missions/quests where gil is not an issue. I'm sure there are quite a few on Bismarck looking to get help on Genkei, AF, ZMs, PMs, WSNMs, Rank 3 Dragon Fight, Shadowlord fight, Carby Mitts, Ohat, Jelly Ring, etc.

Heh I know my LS will be busy with bashing good ol' Shadowlord a few times over =P

Denavee, that is an AWESOME idea. That is something I wouldn't mind organizing one bit. I'll think about how to organize that and post an update soon.

As for last year's mess, it was pretty friggin' bad. I made a mistake in that I sent out everyone's gifts as soon as I received them from their Santas. The mistake was trusting people - in two instances, after people got their gifts they quit (one of these was a VERY well-known player) without ever sending their gift. Several more people signed up to get stuff, I think, and never had any intentions of giving anything. And one very well-known and well-respected player never sent anything, acknowledged the oversight, but never apologized for it OR sent anything despite the fact that I was blanketing the boards with questions and demands from the people who'd signed up and never come through, and the fact that there were a lot of also well-known and well-respected people who were among the "got screwed" list.

So yeah. Really disheartening and frustrating. There are many things I'd do differently if I did it again, but what the hell. I'll try. :)

Just another idea on the Christmas Wish. Instead of ourselves listing our own wishlist, what about having people writing in of what they want to see their anonymous friend get. They could write what mission/quest/task/etc. they want to see their friend complete. Also add in why they think their friend deserves this gift or why they wanted to nominate the person for the wishlist. It would be similar to those radio Christmas/Holiday drives. Callers call in saying they wish so and so would receive this and that because their mom has been going through hardships or their friend is just the most giving person in the world.... err yeah you get the point heh.

Well whatever format you decide Byaina, I'm sure it will be a hit.
