Win Hiptaru's LewtFollow

Ok so since i am quitting the game.. I have all this Lewt to get rid of.. So, i am brainstorming some ideas here.. and figure, i would throw out my idea here, and see if anybody could come up with something constructive..

First of all, How much do you think all of my Gear, and items on all of my mules is worth, i have 5 characters total, and also, i am going to throw in the gil that i have.. So yeah, how much do gil do you think all that is worth????

I really dont know, but i could sit down and find out when i go home and stuff...

But what i am wondering... is...

How many people would participate in a Raffle to win all of it.
Thats right, win every single piece of equipment that Hiptaru owns, and every item that Hiptaru owns, and also All the Gil that Hiptaru owns.. from all of his mules..

How much would you be willing to pay for a ticket?

Now, yes yes, i hear the questions already.. why would you raffle away all your belongings for gil if you are quitting the game?

I was thinking, maybe i could just craft or something.. that sounds fun... like just 2 days a week or something... anyways..

Please any thoughts or ideas or suggestions are appreciated and welcome..

Thanks,

Hiptaru

EDIT---- oops, i forgot to mention, this is just an idea, and it may not come to pass, but i am about 90% sure i am gonna do this, i just really want to know how much to charge for the raffle tickets ----EDIT

I got a better idea for ya Hip..

How about you forget the raffle and just give everything to me^^

Honestly I have no clue as to how to do this dude. But let me know what you figure out. Maybe I'll play in it.

It's more fun to give things to people who you feel deserve it than some randomness, at least in my opinion anyways.

Edit: Apparently this wonderful rate down means that the people who don't deserve it want to win it in a raffle.
Sorry for thinking that he should give it to people who deserve it for some reason or another, which doesn't include me I might add, rather than just raffling it off.

Win's got a point, Hip.

If I were you, I would take all that stuff, liquidate what you can, and give the gil to a mule of a trusted friend. Just in case.

When I quit, I swore to myself I'd never play again: I was done, done, done.
Then, four months or so later, I changed my mind. Luckily I procrastinate with everything I do, so I'd never cancelled my account, and all of my stuff was still there.
I would just do the mule thing, and if a good six months or so goes by and you just don't want to come back at all, then think about giving it all away.

If the game is really getting in the way of your personal life (as it was for me), then moderation might be more of what you're after. The good long break helps.
I would just take the break, get an objective viewpoint on things, then if you really don't want to come back, the decision will make itself. If I were you, I would hold off on throwing everything to the goldfish until you're really sure you don't want to play anymore. (Remember all the work and time that went into that stuff!)

Good luck Hip, with whatever you decide. Like Wintaru, I'm out; even if I won something like that I'd feel like a complete *** doing anything with it. ;)

I'd say a good starting price for a raffle this giant would be 50-100K.

Just IMHO.

If you keep liquid gil in mule storage for 4 months, you'll suffer inflation bigtime. Imagine selling all your HQ staves for 8M, then coming back and finding that they're now 3M a pop and you're 16M short of buying your set back? I say keep your worth stored in assets that aren't likely to decrease in value. HQ staves happen to be a perfect example. I don't forsee that HQ market crashing or them being made obsolete by another set of items.

+1.
If you want to do this, wait a few months.
If you still don't think you'll come back someday after these months, give the gear to people you know and trust, to your old LS, or long-date friends, to the people who made your online experience unique, who gave you splendid memories.

There's maybe something you could do : You spoke about the "Hiptaru's collection" thingy months ago. Why don't you do something like this, even with low-level items ? I'd love to keep something like a Flute or a beret signed by you. I'd have at least something from you, which will make me remember what you did, who you are, and how much I miss you. It's just a thought.

<hmmm> I think you could do something kind of neat Hip. It would require you to start a new account tho so no one on your freinds list or linkshell would know it is you.

What I propose is walking around like a noob and randomly asking for help on some things - like a quest, or a mission, or to craft something, or for a tele<anywhere> in cities where you can never get a tele, or hey.. where do I start fighting? can someone show me how?. Reward people for their random acts of kindness. I remember how hard it was starting off and a little help goes a long way. I cant count the number of times I've led noobs out into the wilds of west ron to start their battles :) and point out a few npc's to trade their bat wings and flint stones in to for some starter gil. Or I'll even just give them some weapon i've crafted instead of npc'ng the thing.

...just a thought.

Or, some lewt for the idea you choose :)

I'd tend to agree with most people hippy. We all don't want to see you go and want you to have an excuse to some back, but knowing you the way I do this is your idea to give you a reason NOT to come back. In that case I say go as big and as bad as you can.

Tickets 100k each, winner gets all you stuff, including the money collected per ticket.

or if you wanna do one more in depth, split the gil and items evenly between the top 3-5 people. (considering the amount of **** i know you have.)

You know, I was wondering why I have not seen you online in a long time Hip. The crazy part is I had a long talk with my girlfriend last night and we are going to quit also. I'm not having a raffle of anything, but when I decide on what to type I will make a post about it also. Not sure what my gf will do tho. I am going to log off for the last time in 30 days from today as thats when my account will end. We had our problems hip, but I will miss you!

i was thinking about just doing nothing but crafting.. like only when its full moon, or new moon..

People keep telling me to give it a month or two..

I already did that.. That is basically what showed me that RL is alot more rewarding than FFXI life.. I mean, i love the friends and family i have made in my stint of playing this game, but i just cant devote the time i used to...

And as for selling tickets for 100k each...

i would be giving away somewhere around 50-75 million gil worth of stuff...

100k per ticket is sorta slim lol

i just might sell it all myself, and then creep into the underground seedy world..

till then..

peace.

Seeing you are thinking of doing some crafting and getting rid of your gil, make me a Scorpion Harness

PS: Please

LOL

was wondering the same thing.

but ... you're quitting. will you then hold another raffle to give away that money?

And here i thought it was finally the end of hearing you praddle on about how much money you have and how good you are for giving it away.

oh well, wonders never cease.

Don't worry about this turning into another back and forth, this is my only post on this matter. I fully expect it to get rated down just like anything else i post on this forum, though curiously not on any of the other forums i post on, but since i had to read one more "please love me and i will give away stuff" you get to read one more of my typically cheerful posts.

We'll see Hip, we'll see.

In the mean time, I'd rather earn my gil. Ask my friends, I don't take hand outs even though I'm constantly broke (really pisses them off sometimes) Smiley: grin

Good luck to whoever wins it all, use it for good, not ebil.

i guess you people really dont know how to read...

lets see here..

If you read my OP.. just go ahead and check where it says Oh and i know you are going to have the questions... Why have a raffle if you are going to be quitting..

i think i answered that question in my OP..

I will maybe just log on like 2 times a week, and do some crafting at optimal times..

ohh here it is..

---Edit---

Not like its any of your buisness in the first play Tsetsuo what i do with my gil, you are just a whiny little bi[Antiquewhite][/Antiquewhite]tch anyways, and everybody else pretty much knows that, and since you say your not going to post anymore on this thread.. i will be glad to say that you are the sole and only person who i am not going to miss while leaving this game, because you have basically been nothing but a prick to me the whole time..

here is what i have decided to do, because i dont think people will want to pay 1 million gil for a ticket for all my stuff..

It was a really good idea in the beginning, but i fail to remember that not everybody had 1 million gil to blow in a raffle, let alone 500k

i mean, if enough people want to spend 500k on a ticket then i will go thru with it. but for now, i think i am just gonna sell all of my stuff, and use all the gil i have to make signed items for people who want them, and then there will be a little bit of Hiptaru around everywhere, and kicking *** in different spots..

So i guess, no more raffle, since what i wanted to do isnt really gonna go thru very well with everybody, and will just sell all my crap lol and use the money differently..

Aight well Peace out.

And if you want me to sign you something, i will take requests at

http://www.bismarckcommunity.com

i will make a thread in teh general forum concerning it..
