Exp In Capped AreasFollow

Anyone know how exp works in capped areas these days? Say we are in Promy-Dem with a party of people some in their 40s and some in their 70s. Will they each get the same amount of exp? And will that exp be applied directly to the exp of their non capped jobs? So if a lvl 70 is 25k TNL and earns 5k exp in a Promy, will they be 20K TNL when they leave the capped area?

Thanks for the help,
HD

In Promy areas everyone is lvl capped at 30 so you all get the same experience.....unless of course you have a job that is less than 30 going in.

The xp does get applied directly to your non capped job. You can actually lvl in here too. Between a few deaths, I ended up hitting lvl 51 about 4 times in the promy areas.

The one big benefit is your xp loss when getting KOed. You only lose the amount of xp you would at that lvl. So in Promys, you would only lose the amount of xp you normally would at lvl 30.

Hope this helps a bit.

A recent update made that the amount of EXP gained in CoP capped areas is based on the cap, not on the actual job level. So in Promy-Mea for example, you'll earn EXP like a Lv30 job, at max.

Ironhide's post is right about the overall total and what happens when you die in a capped area.

However, if you're level 31 or higher when you enter a Promy cap, you get less XP than you would if you entered at 30. I haven't tested thoroughly, but in my latest two runs there's been a pretty big difference.

Aye, my mistake. The update only changed the amount of EXP gained through chains, not the "base" EXP gain.

Quote:
Changes to Experience Acquisition

The next version update will bring the following changes:

-Chain Bonuses in Level-Restricted Areas
Currently, when fighting in level-restricted Chains of Promathia areas, EXP chain bonuses are determined by a player's actual level. However, after the version update, bonuses will be determined by the player's level within the area. This means adventurers will soon be able to earn extra EXP by defeating multiple enemies that are "even match" or higher, just as if the player was fighting in a regular area.

Zylle has an interesting point that I would like to see tested.

One thing I did notice is that XP royally sucked on VTough and IT mobs even with just a party of 6 people.

I found the same a Pso'Xja as well. Level 40 cap and crappy xp on the tougher mobs. <100 xp on VT and IT mobs if I remember correctly.

From my experience with spending excessive amounts of time in capped zones doing PMs, NM hunts and the like. I have found that if you are over the level cap you are allowed to chain as if you were of the level of the cap but your xp is roughly halved.

Note: Merit points don't have this half point issue. So to all you lvl 75s whining about lack of places to xp quit your whining and go get your merits in Phomiuna Aqueducts or some other capped place and let the people trying to level up have some room to level up. >.>

I think Psuedo's right about the EXP being roughly halved if you're above the cap. I think it was a little less last time I did Promy-Dem, but that was also a 10-person alliance. I figure that was what pushed it below the halfway mark.

Also, and this is a little OT, but the amount of EXP you earn in the ENM fights in Promy-Mea, Holla, and Dem decreases depending on how many folks you take into the fight. With 6 or less people, it's 3K EXP if you win. With 10, it was 1800.
