Just thought I'd share some {fun} and {excitement} we've been having in sky recently. Last week someone dared our two Nin tanks (Ishido and Samalis) to tank Genbu, and later Suzaku, naked. Never ones to back down to a challenge, they stripped down and easily tanked the entire fight naked.

This week, after 2xGenbu and 2xSuzaku (we use nin for both of these), we finally moved on to a Pld tanked god, Seiryu, Saturday night actually. Xaeon and I suited up and got ready, but part way through the fight Xaeon thought we should outdo the nins and tank through Seiryu's 2 hour (hundred fists) naked, and after that, why not the whole fight?? So I invincibled first(was our alst god of the night) and took off all my armor. X quickly followed and all was going pretty well. Seiryu was only hitting for about 250 a hit after invincible wore off w/ no gear.

Then came the Fang Rush. Seiryu seemed to sense that we were wearing nothing and decided to do this twice in a row, taking us both out in one hit. 1200 dmg was just too much to bare ><
In case you can't see the text, X says "Take that nins" and then 3 lines later we both die. This is followed by a lot of "LMFAO"'s. We went on to win the fight of course. This was probably one of the funniest moments I've had in sky, and was a great night in general(even tho W.feet didn't drop ; ;) Enjoy!

A little apology about last night...I'm sorry Byakko couldn't be fought because I was absent. When I said I was coming back, I was coming back. What happened was that as I was getting a chocobo to return to Tu'Lia, the power went out around here. So, even if I didn't return to Jeuno, the outcome would have been the same. v.v

Because I prefer what it gives over mage subs.

I'm alittle curious too.

I know more INT; what else besides that?

Yeah well Deedlitchan is level 71 and dark knights don't get Stun until level 37. This means that Deedlitchan is using it as a sub in exp parties. I don't know why dark knight is a viable sub, especially at his level.

There are basically 4 places to exp at 71: Kuftal (until 72 I believe), Ranperre Tomb, Romaeve, and Sky.

You have monsters that paralyze and silence which I believe is AoE. Hard to refresh the party, debuff the mob, back up cure, and so forth if you get those effects.

In tomb you have monsters that do AoE damage as well as blind. Do you really want your red mage to be focusing more on casting blindna on themselves than helping the party?

In Romaeve you have weapons which do an A0E stun that lasts for around 5 sec. Hard for him to cure the tanks, refresh the mages, and so forth while stunned. Also note that he doesn't get the stun spell until 74.

Same thing as in romaeve applies to sky only that you have statues too.

Subbing melee on a mage job? Come on!! How would you like it if you have white mages subbing melee jobs? WHM/DRG, WHM/SAM and BRD/SAM 4tw!!! Yes it's nice that some people want to be different but this game is based around parties so you have to do what benefits the parties and not what you feel like doing. Otherwise, you're just doing the bare minimum of what your job does (subpar performance) and basically leeching.

So uh...

When did this thread stop being about naked tanking, and start being about sub-job choice? Don't get me wrong, I think DRK subjob's sub-par pre-74 myself, but uh.. completely derailing the subject here.

Not to mention the fact that you seem to like stirring up trouble, when you don't even play the game. Why are you still here, and why does one's subjob choice matter so much to you?

Five if you add in Dragon's Aery, six if you also add Bibiki Bay.

The silence move used by cockatrice only hits what is standing in front of them. I don't stand directly in front of monsters except solo. As for the AE paralyze by tigers, barparalyze with capped enhancing skill stacked on top of the "Resist Paralyze" trait I gain from /drk really helps there.

First of all, how do you assume I'm not doing what I always do and use slow/paralyze/etc, refresh, and extra cures as necessary while I supposedly cast blindna on myself? Second, I can't cast blindna, you should already know that.

First off, I'm not "he". As far as I can see, stun for a few seconds is not that big a deal unless it's an infernal weapon that I haven't taken off Shell from and silenced. I don't get too close to those until that's taken care of, while in the process dispelling whatever else is left.

If they're able to do that and still do what they're there to do in the first place, what's it matter? More power to them if they can.

You never made clear as to what that bare minimum is, and you do not know what all the things I do are.

Who cares what job SHE plays. If she does her job, which i bet she does, thats all that matters. if you have negative things to say, dont waste your time. This isnt a Rdm/Drk bashing thread.

And GJ tanks =) it was fun to watch :P
