I'm approaching lvl 60, and so soon will be needing the 3rd lvl cap quest.

Can it be done with several pots and powders, or do I need an uber alliance? I'm thinking about going as THF/RDM for flee and to save on the consumables.

Take care.

You are correct, this is in fact completely soloable, especially as a thf. Solo'd as a 60thf/whm to cut down on consumables ;)

Only tricky part is the top floor of Castle Oz~have to be sneaky, light one torch, flee/re-tonko and bolt for the door, gotta be fast..but it isn't too bad~good luck to ya^^

Everyone is going to tell you this is totally soloable. Which is somewhat true if totally soloable includes lots of dying and tons of frustration not mention you will be supporting some alchemist if you dont have sneak and invis.

There are two points where high level assistance saves your sanity. The first is in davoi going through the mystical barrier. You have to drop invis to open it and it is inevitable that one orc will turn around at the wrong time and link all three and then you are eating dirt. Bring someone with an orb so they can open it and you can walk right on in without having to drop invis.

The second point is at the top of Castle O. Bring a high level to help you get through the door at the top. And dont to forget to bring something to warp you out of there.

Good Luck :)

I have to agree with Honeydaddy.

You can solo Beauduex(sp?) no problem. Don't even worry about getting cursed. If you are a melee bring an instant warp scroll, or cudgel with you.

Davoi and Castle O still give me the cold sweats at night...that can get REALLY sketchy, even with high levels.

I agree, kind of. Beaudeaux is very easy to get to. But bring a few echo drops and holy waters just to be safe. Curse and silence are managable, but not if you get aggro. Davoi isn't bad as long as you time your invisible at the right points. (which you have probably done a few times before already)

CO is the hardest one in my opinion, but it is also soloable. Most of the time, there are high level parties farming on the floor where you need to light the torch. If you have flee, thats great, otherwise NIN af works just fine, or powder boots. Also if you get stuck and you absolutely can't do it, you can always /s for the door and most ppl if they have the key item already will open it for you.

Best thing is to not forget warp cudgel or scroll of instant warp.

I have to say this is 100% soloable without death! I started G3 as a level 57 THF/NIN - got Beadeaux Seal first - you have to sneak (silent oils) and invisible (Tonko:Ichi) and use a warp scroll to get out of the seal location.

Next is Davoi, which can be a pain in the behind coz of the sub-quest for the Gate orb- I actually used my BLM/WHM for this which was level 54 at the time. No death, not even a single aggro the whole time in Davoi. Point being, use sneak (silent oils) and invisible (Tonko:Ichi) and a warp scroll - not a difficult seal to get.

The hardest one to do is the Castle Oz - just because of the passwords needed and all the running around you have to do. The 2nd statue, as level 59 THF/NIN, has a couple of EP Yaguda that still aggro me, but they're easy to kill (they don't even attack at the same time - go figure). First time I attempted this, I started at 9:00 Vannadiel time - ran out of time, really needed about 10 RL minutes more. So I started over at 0:05 Vannadiel time. It's not hard and no deaths - just be smart about the things you do and pay attention to everything. Remember to keep sneak (silent oils) and invisible (Tonko:Ichi) up until the last possible moments in all cases. Once done, use a warp scroll to get back to Jeuno (or your HP).

Good Luck!

This is absolutely soloable, with the only tricky part being Castle Oztroja.

It requires only one thing to do:

Patience.

Beadeaux is a walk in the park. You just have to wait for the ruby quadavs to be on the other side of the room, hug the wall, and go through.

Davoi, you just have to wait for the 3 orcs near the banishing wall to turn around. It may take 5 minutes or so, but there WILL be a point when all 3 have their backs to you. Drop invis, hit the wall, and just run for the zone. Forget about re-casting invis. If you do take aggro, the zone is right there, so you'll survive taking maybe 2 or 3 hits.

Oztroja is the tricky part. With 2 people it's very easy, as one of them stands by the door on the upper level while the other hits the torch. With flee, you can solo it. It is also solo'able without flee IF AND ONLY IF there are high levels camping the yagudo up there. If there's an open path, you can hit the torch and just bolt for the door. You have enough time to make it if you don't stop to re-cast invis.

All in all, this is a simple Genkai. Just time consuming. I've run people through G3 countless times, so if you're still stuck, send me a tell and we'll get it done. Takes about an hour or so.

Edit: I forgot to add that if you don't have the crimson orb required to bring down the G3 banishing wall in Davoi, you'll need to do the mini-quest in there. You can find details about it right here on Alla.
