at least its interesting to me...

The way that the following items are acquired has been changed:
Archer Ring, Leaping Boots, Emperor Hairpin, Peacock Charm
In addition, players may receive an EX/Rare or EX item with the same attributes from the monsters who previously dropped each of the above items.

that means, that these items are going to drop in price if i am thinking correctly.. Because now, you can go hunt Valkurm Emperor and get a item that does the same thing as a hairpin, and the gil sellers wont be able to sell it!

So basically, those 4 items should drop in price correct?
or will they go up in price for some strange reason...

Dont worry, i am not gonna pull another astral ring incident with this, i just thought it was interesting, and wondered what other people thought about this new change coming up?

My guess is this:

Lizzy, Emp. etc will drop Rare/Ex items of Leaping Boots and Pin.

Sellable versions of these items will be available in BCNM or ENM battles.

Since everyone will want to sell you will see a temporary market saturation of these items, with everyone undercutting everyone else to try to get them sold.

The people who are truly interested in having these items will either camp or get friends to help with the BCNM/ENM.

Prices on these items will eventually go WAY up due to lack of any for sale (only people trying to get the sellable versions will either be getting them for themselves or to sell, but BS's are not as easy to come by).

Just my opinion, either way looks like I can finally get these things for myself.

I think it's good that SE is finally trying to reduce what gilsellers do for gil. And it is a change that is welcome. But (yes, I look for the lighting in the silver lining) I camped Lizzy for 6 months (off and on 1/28) before getting my boots. And as for VE, I spent 7 days straight without farming or exping until I got my hairpin. It is almost a slap in my face to all the time I spent to get those items and now they are for all instensive purposes easy cake. When you look at it, r/e is not as good as just rare b/c you can mule rare.

Some things aren't meant to be easy or obtainable by everyone. And gil sellers are changing that for us. I don't like where this is headed.

What will be interesting is to see how Sniper Rings and Winged Boots behave. They use the Archer Rings and Leaping Boots respectively as their major component. If the supply of Archer Rings and Boots dwindle then I would expect to see a big jump in the Snipers and Winged Boots.

*The effects of the following items have been altered:
Teleport ring: Mea

I used one of these items to "save" my pt in bibiki bay from some nasty links and it led to 3 dead bodies and everyone pointing and laughing at me for my valent effort when I returned.

So yeah, hopefully this will actually work as advertised!

hm... I wonder what will happen to sniper's ring prices.

They'll most likely still be using the non-rare/ex version of the archer's ring, i would guess, so depending on the difficulty of obtaining it, prices could lower... or go up through the roof! =S

It should end at 3AM tonight, on the east coast. Most updates run an hour or two late though, so you can pretty much forget about playing tonight.

This isn't going to stop the gil seller problem on any server. Gil sellers are just gonna move onto bigger and better things like the already overcamped land gods, lord of onzozo, Amemet (they already do), fishing for angel skins in Kuftal, camping Zippy and Olla (imagine trying to get Ro'Maeve Water with an alliance of gil sellers camping the same pots as you). It's bad enough that we already have one group of gil sellers that camp sky god pop items. Now imagine 3 or 4 more groups there. Imagine a group of gil sellers stealing KB, Nidhogg, or Aspi at 1%...I've watched each and every one of them go unclaimed at low HP. Think of how they could monopolize those rare abjurations...20 mil for koenig, 30 mil for adaman etc... How about stealing Kirin at 1% because claim drops for a second as you're swaping members or the kiters get out of range. These will all be new possibilities especially with SE's ******** stance "If the mob goes unclaimed it's fair game for anyone (but don't expect us to change anything to make sure claim isn't lost)."

Gil sellers aren't going to stop selling gil just because SE gimps the mobs they camp. They're just going to move up to higher things and it's just gonna **** more people off.

well in a way its good and in a way its bad

the good thing about it is people can get these items if they need/want them with out to much compition from gilfarmers.

NOW FOR THE BAD
this is not a 100% idea but with their main sorce of gil going to hell and knowing that sevral of the farmers are high lvl its a sad truth that we may have to deal with these guys in sky???
All i can really say is i know of at least 1 group of farmers that try to monopolize genbu and this may force them into doing this with all gods /sigh

Am i wrong to fear that this may happen?

Don't make accusations that you know nothing about.

Stinkybuns is not a gilseller, that's just how he makes his gil in-game. It works, too.

He's a cool guy, don't talk about stuff you know nothing about.

Maybe I misunderstood, but I thought I read that this update will eliminate the problem with mobs going unclaimed when WS or magic attks that have unclaimed them in the past are used.

I'd say my Wingers will jump in price because there will always be those with plenty of gil too lazy to camp for the Rare/Ex equivalents.

Plus thinking an item is MORE difficult to get from a BCNM, ENM or KSNM is incorrect. I'd much rather take 30 Kindred Seals and take my shot at a KSNM to get a Venemous Claw than to camp Serket for three hours against 25 gilsellers.
