I spoke to this scammer in Jeuno and he has the grammer skillz like our friend Dante here.

So each one in this universe has a unique "grammar skill" now eh? Interesting

Yet another reason why I only use the Auction House. Seen one too many horror stories involving scam artists.

why is it that the antagonists of these events always have terrible grammar?

I don't think Dante would like it if he was compared to a Scam Artist. Would you?

First off, I'm very sorry to hear this happened to you Ecks. I'll spread the word.

As for this PLD Dante, I /blisted this ******* the first time I ever met him. I was looking for a tank to replace mine in an xp pt once, and he was lfg as a WAR/PLD. I simply asked him if he had any other subjobs and he went and called me a f'ing n00b. And yes, he had the grammar of a 7 year old on morphine.

How interesting to find out he's more of a scumbag than I thought...

I just saw this.

I'm not stating one thing is necessarily true because of another here, just very "ironic."

Dante told Sing when he first came back from WoW he threw away his Intensity pearl, so he lied about that because he did not.

A few (or a couple) weeks back I was on LS and Dante VERY BRIEFLY appeared on the LS list, just long enough to /boot Zariko from the LS. He claimed his "little brother" was messing with his character and did that accidentally. He could have been trying to send him a /tell and hit Kick accidentally...fair enough. Not 60 seconds later this Shagha shows up on our LS claiming to be the mule of one of our members, Lockhart. He said he was doing a Promy with some friends and needed to borrow my Emporer's Hairpin. At first, I was curious because only Sing and Tsetsuo's mules have pearls in our LS.

He begged for awhile, then started sending me /tells about it, and I started to notice the more I questioned him the more desperate he appeared, and his grammar started getting poor. Lockhart always has exceptional grammar, never use "u" instead of "You", stuff like that. I asked him to log onto Lock real quick to prove to me it was Lock, and he said "I didn't pay my bill, this is someone elses account." I said "I thought it was your mule, not a buddy's account?" He got quiet. I booted him from the shell. I followed Dante's cousin Jiraya around Jeuno for awhile thinking it may have been him, because well, he's pretty damn sketchy. I found this Shagha, mithra lvl 1 mule and stood next to it for awhile. They got uncomfortable and logged.

Bout a week later Dante sends me some tells asking me why I got him kicked from his LS. One, I didnt even know what LS he was in and two, I dont know who the LS leader is. He was all pissy about it, though. Dante was telling Leeluu in /tell he thought it could have been Raikku doing it, so I sent Raikku a /tell "Shagha" and he sent back "hi2u~" which made me laugh cause Raikku is such a dope, but I don't think he did this. If he did he can burn in hell, but I still suspect Dante and/or Jiraya. Too many "coincendences" for them to not at least know the person who is doing this, even if it is not them directly.

That had absolutely nothing to do with the topic of this conversation. Revenger, you just killed a kitten.

Case you didn't notice, in almost every last topic like this, the guilty party involved shows up (generally being their first post) and defends themselves very poorly in worse grammar and spelling then they actually have in-game. Then they always have a "witty" retort to every subsequent reply that addresses them, usually with swearing and many other obscenities. Makes sense for a person to come and defend themselves right? But they all have the same tone, the same patterns, and the same sentence structure (if you can call it that).

What we most likely have here are sock puppet accounts created by a member of this board for the simple reason of trolling. And they've succeeded by the looks of it. I wonder if the self proclaimed resident troll of Bismarck can come in and clear his name.

Of course I could be totally off-base and really do have this many flavorful members like this, but I don't think I am.

I'm sorry to hear of your loss Eckskalibur, I hope in some way karma pays you back.

I don't understand how one can get scammed like that. The red-letter "OK" wears off if anything is changed in the trade. Then you have to press OK again to complete it. Can it really happen that fast or a person not pay enough attention to hit OK twice? I'm sorry for your loss all the same. /comfort

what happens is right before they hit ok they change the item so their ok button never turns red in the first place and they only have to hit it once.

Yes, but whenever I trade with anything, no matter its value I always check the item both before AND after, both the seller and I hit ok.

Sorry for the loss, sad to see people are such jackasses.

Ooooh I see. I mostly trade in J-no in exchange for teleports. I know it isn't big-money when compared to Serket rings and such, but this is the process I follow to ensure that I (a poor, destitute, poverty-stricken white mage) do not get ripped off.

1. Initiate the trade (90% of the time the client does).
2. Client fronts the money (or Serket ring in this case).
3. If not done already, I ask the client to hit OK first.
4. When the trade is finished on the client's side, I hit OK.
5. I bow (from courtesy as well as to keep record in the chat log as I am FRAPSless) to the client after the trade is complete.

Even though I am just dabbling in trades between 500-2000 gil, this method works every time and I have never been ripped off. I am never too afraid to ask someone to secure their end of the trade first. It keeps honest people honest and the trade goes a lot more smoothly. If anyone did think I was being a grump, that illusion is dispelled by my teleport macro. ^_^

If none of you have been teleported by me, you are missing out.

I did meet you phyree because someone ripped you off, so I said I would pay for them. I know it was a little different. They said they didn't have any gil, and would send it later.

People get ripped off, because they trust the person to be honest. To many people like to use the it is only a game excuse for there behavior.

There was a time when somebody gave me a Teleport-Altep and warped back before I could pay him, so I sent the gil to his mog and let him know about it. I forgot the name, though...
