It's no use whinging, though. Why not try to help them fix their shortcomings? Who knows, maybe you have some you don't notice, as well

In retrospect, it's not the Paladin and Dragoon jobs I hate so much as it is the vast amount of retarded people that play them.

Do you just spout random things out and take whatever stance on an issue that your mood at any given times dictates?

I expect at LEAST 5k exp per hour. If a party is not making that, they're very, very sub-par.

See: Reference to a pretentious ***** in your sig.

Seriously, your general statement in this thread is about as ignorant as they come.

By the way, being a Rdm doesn't make you privy to crappy parties. Being a player in FFXI makes you privy to crappy parties. Get over yourself, son.

Someone mentioned above, if you don't like certain party setups, form your own. Sounds like good advice to me.

Maybe it's just me, but when I'm refreshing five people, MBing, enfeebling, and hasting...that's the most fun I have in this game.

Yeah, it's difficult. It's a major pain, to be honest. But it's challenging, and I actually enjoy a challenge in the game. I was in a set with five refreshes (PLD, RNG, DRK, RDM, WHM, BLM), and it was the best experience (and best time) I've had getting levels in the game. I also kept refresh on everyone in the PT as much as I could (even the DRK, since he was a rare DRK that realized how to use his spells to help the PT).I hate that we had to break up because of differing schedules, but that's the way it goes.

It's odd for me to read quotes like "I only refresh the BLM when he's low on MP." Considering refresh is only 3 MP a tick, refreshing someone when they're already low isn't much of a help. It only helps them recover faster while they're resting, which they're going to have to do. If you're a RDM, your job is to keep the chain going, in my opinion. The best way to do that is to make sure no one actually gets low on MP. I also think it's odd when RDMs refuse to party with PLDs. A good RDM makes a good PLD great. A good RDM is basically ignored by the NIN (unless he's main healing). RDM and PLD is a natural combination, and if a RDM, PLD and WHM can develop a chemistry together, you can basically throw in any other jobs and have a great party.

I guess, for me, what it comes down to is this: The one trait I've noticed in all players I trust in this game is that they can react to different circumstances and change the way they play to fit whatever is going on at that moment. If you demand a certain party, a certain job, a certain whatever...you don't learn to do that.

Dear Bards of Bismarck-

Please don't party with me anymore. Your voices and songs give me headaches no mere mortal can endure. ; ;

Dear Summoners of Bismarck-

Please don't party with me anymore. The thought of Titan's thong suddenly appearing before me gives me nightmares. ; ;

Dear Monks of Bismarck-

Please don't party with me anymore. The last time one of you did Dragon Kick, you flung mud in my eye. I had to get the eye replaced. ; ;

...etc, etc

Wow....It's funny that you say that PLDs make the PT weak because the PLD is only as good as the WHM helping to keep him/her alive. With you being the WHM, whose job it is to keep the PLD, or any tank for that matter alive, it seems to me your just being lazy because you don't want to have to do a lot of work in the PT.
If you don't like playing the game how it was meant to be palyed then you should just quit now.

EDIT:

Quote:
ninety-nine percent of those bad parties were because I accepted an invite from either a Paladin or a Dragoon.

While I'm not the best at forming a PT, it seems like your saying my ability to form a PT and my ability to perform in a PT are one in the same.

That is so true. I've been tank (PLD) in a PT with no main healer. That's right no RDM, no WHM, no SMN. It's all about how the party WORKS TOGETHER. Teamwork is what makes you the good exp and not having all the DRKs or RNGs or MNKs.

I really wonder how many people just read the first few replies in the thread and replied themselves with a half-cocked answer before reading down and realizing that it was an inside joke between my LS members and myself that got out of hand because people don't know how to take a joke.

In all actuality, I don't give a flying rat's *** who I party with. The only people I'll turn down to a party are people I've been warned about, or people I've had bad experiences with before. I don't care if it's a PLD, a WAR, or DRG, a DRK, or what have you. I'll party with everybody. I'm NOT just some elitist prick that wants to have one thing set in stone no matter what he plays, though I see nothing wrong with finding a party setup that works and that you enjoy, and sticking to it.

That being said:

The irony of all of this is... in relation to my rating. I got my 3.65 rating, believe it or not, by making serious, flaming posts towards several unsavory members of the forums. In return I make a joking flaming post toward a few jobs in which I have quite a few friends that amasingly saw it as a joke, and I get rated into the basement. Nice double-standards, don't you think?

This thread is truly amazing.

I can't believe how many people are going completely balls out trying to insult alauce without reading the whole thread.

It boggles the mind, really.

Well I read the whole thread and it wasnt until VERY late in this topic that the "OMG it was a joke" came out. If it was a joke, then your delivery sucks.

There were several subjects regarding the post that were being rebutted and argued over early on the first page. Why would someone argue and insert supposed facts regarding a particular situation and time if this was just..um..lets say..a joke?

Well someones "Joke" wasnt actually a joke after all. Now it looks like damage control is being sought. Good luck with that..

Somehow I felt the need to reply, mainly because:

1) Alauce is one of the very few people who can type correctly.
2) I can spell belligerent.

Jokes aside, Alauce makes a pretty good point. Although I find the whole thread useless, some people did mention things that are worth considering.

Every job has people that suck at said job horribly. This is especially true for: Paladins, Dragoons, Red Mages, Dark Knights, Rangers, Samurais, Warriors, White Mages, Black Mages, Blue Mages, Thieves, Monks, Bards, Ninjas, Summoners, and I would mention Beastmasters, but that's their own problem if they suck.
I agree, some people just flat out suck at what they do, and they seem to cluster around certain jobs. However, it all depends on which place in the party you're on. You've played Red Mage to 75, and I've played it to 70 before realizing that I wanted to shove a shotgun in my mouth and pull a Kurt Cobain. You are now playing White Mage, both are mage jobs.

Now, if you were to play a melee job, as I did with WAR to 58, you'll begin to notice one thing. White Mages suck, Red Mages suck, Paladins suck, Ninjas suck, and every other DD that can't even come close to the damage of your Rampage sucks. Which is mainly why I decided to quit WAR at 58, I picked it back up recently because I was invited to a static with this setup: RNG/NIN, RNG/NIN, RNG/NIN, WAR/NIN, WHM/SMN, BRD/WHM. Some of you may say there's a few jobs in there that slack off, but actually every single job there plays an important role in our party. We managed to get from 58 to 62 in a couple of days, an amazing amount of time, and I don't regret joining them at all.

What's my point? I don't know. Oh yeah, pickups suck. But even if you announce it on AK, it's not going to stop them from sucking and it's not going to stop them from inviting you.

Just make a "Dragoon, Paladin No Thanks" next time in your seach comment instead come here and write all those "Personal Experience Opinions" on Dragoon/Paladin and start a "flame" yourself. If you do claim this is your solo opinions from your so call "Experienced Player", just do what i suggested above it saves alot trouble for yourself and to this community.

At the end nobody cares about your "Personal Experienced Opinions" after all, this thread is just like 100s' other "I don't like this job/player because they sucks after i joined their PT" threads. After all, it's part of your responsibility to for not making it clear in your seach comment what your "like" or what you "do not like", also you are the one responsible for clicking the "accept" bottom on the PT invite too.

i used to be against drg's until I pt'd with a few well equipped ones that easilly outdamaged our rangers. as for tanks, I prefer a good nin tank as opposed to a good pld, but thats just personal prefference.

Arkard, I haven't seen a more baselessly self-confident, arrogant, mincing little assclown on these forums since Balgarath got chased out of town.

If you're so much better than everyone else here...well, heh, let's play dollies for a minute here and pretend that's the case...if you're so much better then the rest of us, why slum?
Go hang out with your secretarial friends that alert you to posts you should read.
And while you're at it, read this: it takes more than a dictionary to make you intelligent.

You're a troll. Plain and simple. Your opinions are backward and unmotivated by fact, your perception of your own e-weiner obliterates any sense you might have made, and aside from that you're got a narcissism problem. Maybe you should go out into the real world and find out how big of a fish you are.
