It's better than the current one on this site since it's moderated and you won't have to go through multiple threads.
The only downside I can see if that people would have to register (they registered here so don't see much of a problem), not many people will use it due to not knowing about it (maybe having search comments could help out publicing it), and with the amount of people coming to your site would mean that the general chat section would fill up bringing some of the good and bad with it. About time someone thought of it.
