Dragonice, DIAMOND, and unhonorable behaviorFollow

#77 May 10 2005 at 12:38 PM Rating: Default
Thanks Alauce, that pretty much sums it up. It's weird to see so many struggle with what is blatantly obvious. But then again maybe they just simply can’t comprehend at this time. =/

Heh, Apology? Forget it. We were going for the NM just as you were w/ no malicious intent, if you believe this or not. It didn’t matter if you were RD, AD, Santa Claus, or a flock of seagulls standing there, if you didn’t claim the NM we were going to. The fact that you saved Elfry is irrelevant, the rest of the LS didn’t even know you did it until after Zip was claimed/dead, yet entire LS is accuse of being ‘unhonorable’, ‘backstabbing’, ‘immoral’, etc.. Load of crap? Yeah. Bitter much? Yeah. Little facts not mentioned in all these ‘Don’t be like them!’ threads. These things happen all the time in sky. Posting things like this in here is what gets ppl mad, b/c then you turn this incident into something far bigger than it was, then the NM was, and the offended get even more offended. Not to mention all these knuckleheads that never have experienced this get to voice there grandiose opinions about how the world can be a better place if everyone held hands and sang songs about butterflies while giving NM’s away for fun. When I see my friends like DI, Widow and Sham, guys who day in and day out do nothing but help others and never have an ill word spoke about them, have to come here after doing nothing wrong, after being cussed out by you guys, and defend this shell .. yeah gets me annoyed .

The funny part is what happens next. =) If you stay in sky you will be seeing more of us. We will pay you no mind I promise you. What happens when we are going for the same NM again? Think you won’t struggle to claim before us? Haha, you can bet you will. As Alauce mentioned, this will happen to you w/ another LS. You will learn that you need to be proactive in claiming NM’s asap. Then one day a new LS will come along and you will claim an NM they ‘intended’ to get, then they may post how ‘unhonorable’ you are, and you will be like ‘Wth?!’. Circle complete and then we will all be part of the same happy disgruntled HNM family. =)

Anyway, I’m starting to realize I’ll never get this wasted time back. Orz. Just drop the LS bashing. If you want something in sky and we are up there, send me a /tell, we can avoid these things. This should be my last post on this topic, if you haven’t got it by now, you’re not going to. Good luck to you.

Alauce, you aren't necessarily wrong either, and I would bet that most of us that fell on RD's side have had the same thought. NM camping isn't a nice game, hell, we know that.

But speaking just for myself, if Elfry had been in danger of a death, it seems over-the-top to me to snatch the NM right after being rescued. If she was *not* in danger of a death, as most people who should know have said she wasn't, why in the world didn't she handle her own mess?

If I'm at the Mysticmaker Profblix pop (this is Fisher-Price, but bear with me) and I catch Cockatrice aggro while waiting to claim the NM, and I'm capable of killing the Cockatrice....then it's up to me to kill it. It was my carelessness that got me in trouble.

If I'm not capable and someone saves me, hell, I'm not going to say it would be EASY to give Mysticmaker up if he popped. But he'll pop again, it's not as if NMs only ever pop once.
It just strikes me as rude to play grabass right after someone went out of their way to help you. It's between Elfry and RD, not RD and Diamond.

I think RD are a bit mad at themselves for helping her, and I'm just saying that there's no reason to be; it was the right thing to do if they thought she was in trouble. It kind of sucks that she repaid them that way, even if NM camping isn't a nice game.

Sky makes my head hurt. @@'

I'm tellin' you...if there were a slushy stand up there, it would make a whole lotta people a whole lot happier.

On a serious note:
Unfortunally quite a few mishaps happen up in sky now a days. It's bound to happen as more and more people gain access to sky. Over-population of one area will lead to, of course, more people getting frustrated. @@'

We've all ran into problems in sky, and always will. xX'

My advice is to be kind to non-LS with Raise 3's when you've taken care of your own LS's business.

Have a few small points to make about this seeing as how common sense seems to have flown out the window with this. RD you guys say you are new to sky and with Zip there are different places to zone in and find him. Elfry zoned in at a different spot than you and didnt know you were there and informed us that Zip was up. At the time there was a group on SC so they killed him raised whoever was dead and escaped to head to Zip. To get there they had to go across two of the islands and when they did they waited on about 4 more of us who were on our way up. From the time we were told Zip was up to get ready to fight it took about 30 minutes or so. If you are camping an NM especially one you know someone else could show up to grab him at any time then why in gods name would you wait so long to claim him. I thought the point of camping an NM was to claim it when it popped not sit around and wait so it seems you had plenty of time to get him before we got there.

As far as haku runs go for anyone who thinks we're wrong we can refer the ppl to you. You set up an alliance that can handle haku plus any adds that the gilsellers might bring and ensure that the person wont lose cluster on a wipe. If you cant do that then it would be appreciated if you would A. mind you're own business because it has nothing to do with you and B. not post on something when you have no clue what you're talking about and have no facts on the subject.

I think its a good idea for everybody to not act like children when they have an incident with another player and feel they were wronged. Dont cuss out someone for trying to find out whats wrong talk to the player you feel wronged you and try to find a solution. If you cant o well you dont have to deal with that person but please be a little more mature in your decisions and dont try to flame an entire ls that is respected by others because you think one members actions were wrong.

Honestly KPP I hate to say it, but, nonetheless: lesson learned. If you want to claim something then do it, or someone else will be more than happy to do so for you.

Here's a little something to keep you interested:

http://archdominus.valkurm.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2301

GM's don't do anything either, if you haven't figured that one out. Of course, my LS had a little KB incident of our own back in December where we learned "stealing" mobs was a legal maneuver in the game.

I really have only one thing to say, which is everyone is out for themselves whether they believe it or not. As soon as you learn that you'll be able to make more strategic decisions both in and out of the game that will help you and yours out.

For game purposes HNMLS's will be cival to one another only because they don't want one another trying to steal their claim, or MPK them while fighting a mob. Beyond that I doubt there is one end-game LS that doesn't talk **** about another end-game LS. There may be the outward appearance of respect but within the shells it is greatly lacking.

Lol a few things:

a) I was in the middle of the room with the 2 golems. Zippy was walking my way from the north entrance. A few more steps and a very easy banish would have made the deal. I had to run back seeing we had a robot on our hands. I passed Elfry on the way back.

So yes, I lost pull because we picked up Elfry's aggro. And I wont even bother about Alauce's post, considering, he wasnt there, little point to refute his long hypothesis of how things might have been.

b) We have lost many mobs to other people in sky. I have tried to make it clear, it is not losing the claim, it is the way it has happenned. I made this clear in my first post. We dont put as much effort as others, so we fully expect to be outpulled from ls that get tod so know the exact moment of pop, that have simply more rangers then us, or more members, etc. We do not get angry when we lose.

So its all good, half the server agrees with you, and the other half doesnt. Those who agree know what to expect, those who dont have been warned. End of story.

c) Shaman, I'm sorry you werent around, this would surely have gone differently if you had, for I have know you by your good reputation for a long time. While I was pissed angry when discussing with Dragon, I was very regular with Elite, and received not event a hint that something might be worked out. Actually, after discussing the matter with him, I got blisted, in his own words, to prevent any further problems. (probably for him, but I dont see where that let me - not a single cuss with Elite btw) There simply wasnt any opening to solving a problem, because there clearly wasnt any. And still today this is the general position of most of your members posting.

Still, Id agree to end of story too, no need to drag this to next year. We seem to generally agree on what happened, but not on the meaning. 1000 posts wont change that.

lol wow you people are funny.

I have to say I can now sympathize to some degree with Hoodlum, Killu and crew... I spoke to Hoodlum for a bit one day, he started sending me /tells. I thought he was just looking to start **** with my LS but he was actually not too bad... we talked for a bit and unless he was acting and playing the niceguywhoisjustmisunderstoodandwantstobefriends.

Thing is you make out my friends seem like they're the scum of the server when odds are you've never run into them before and know nothing about them. A disagreement in the way trigger NM's are handled and "courtesy" that "should" be extended does not warrant all of this.

However I do understand the frustration you might have felt losing the claim because you chose to be nice and help someone out. It really sucks when you do anything for anyone and it backfires on you. Demanding a public apology however is just an eensy weensy bit um... weird. I mean to still be caught up in it this bad you'd think this has happened twice a night every night for the past week!

When something like that happens to us it tends to go a little like "Well gdi, we lost zippy hurry to {Insert NM name here} next" it really makes as much sense to freak out about it this much as it does to slather yourself in Mayo from head to toe in order to improve drops on Dynamis (Although it DID work that one time...)

If you want an apology that bad, I'm sorry for the trouble/anger/hissyfit/PMS/gout/herpes/cysticfibrosis this whole nefarious shennanigan has brought uppon the unwitting member/s of your LS by this misunderstanding/actofgod/dogandponyshow/Jihad/congressional hearing and hereby apologize on my behalf and those member/s of my Linkshell who are sympathetic/apathetic/uninterested or otherwise completely bored and loathing the situation in part, completely, or not at all.

We are not elitists, we are not terrorists, we're not even the guy looking at your mom's boobs when she wears something sexy to the supermarket. We have a couple of smartass cynic's (myself included) but we mostly poke fun at eachother, it's more fun when you know who you're making fun of ;) But we're not all unreasonable. You just need to understand that given the level of idiots that inevitably find their way onto this game... when you get a /random /tell of a less than polite or friendly demeanor, it's an almost instinctive reaction to just be a jerk back or completely disregard the person and whatever their problem is and get back to making the best of your $12 a month.

We're just people playing the game who through skill and some luck ("Sensei says luck is also a part of skill"-Rock Lee) have managed to achieve a certain level of success.

While not by any means a sincere or heartfelt apology or even a real apology at all, it's better to think of it as a placebo apology. Just so you won't have to stand there in your room wearing your Cookie Monster knickers refreshing the page waiting for a member of those heathen members of DIAMOND to come to their senses and beg for forgiveness havign realized the insolence of their actions and disengage the righteous jihad thus set forth.

If anything I at least hope this post has been at least remotely entertaining for part, all, or one lonely middle aged overweight sales clerck who just spit his soda all over the screen not entirely sure at why this is funny and completely unaware of what exactly a Zipcna is.

Thank you,
~Calaelen
