Dragonice, DIAMOND, and unhonorable behaviorFollow

#52 May 09 2005 at 5:54 PM Rating: Default
Kfcc, no offense man, but simply not true. I was leading Diamond that day have screenshots as Mathias (sp?) was very clear to me about what AD was about to do before our last pull. Both LS's have moved on past this incident so let's not bring it to these forums, send me a /tell in-game and I'd be happy to answer any questions. ^^

Hktku? Dynamis? Why must ppl comment on things they know nothing about, I'll never know. You have no idea why we did those favors, how we fund our Dynamis or what we do w/ our drops, so why act like you do? This is how these threads go; You post something that you pull out of your ***, I have to come on here and correct you b/c sadly some take these forums as scripture, then you have some off the wall reply completely missing the corrections of any facts I've made, then some lower lvl (that has never experienced said incident) says how horrible we are.. replying any further beyond what Widow has said would be chasing my tail. If you would like to know these details, send me a /tell in-game.

Back to the topic at hand.. stop being dramatic. And yes, running to KI and Alla (where else I don't know) minutes after the incident to post a long thread about how you didn't think we were nice enough is well, being dramatic. It's an NM!? What NM do you know where ppl turn around and leave if someone else is camping it? If all NM's were like Bubbly Bernie where everyone stood in a line and took turns, it would be great! The fact that you pulled aggro from Elfry is awesome thank you for lending us a hand... but while trying to claim the same NM, meh not really the best tactic. You don't camp Fafnir and aid an LS who aggros a fly.. kinda defeats your objective of being there, has nothing to do w/ being nice or not. Why the facade of being a 'Nice' LS when the language after showed how 'nice' some of you really are? Diamond is full of great ppl, just like your LS is im sure. Hunting down the same NM's gets competetive, I hope you don't run to this forums everytime you get the short end of the stick. This seems like one of those posts that's done from anger that later means nothing. =/

Those posts about naitive american legends, us being 'Vipers!', or conspiracies about Elfry in some secret CoOp mission to purposely aggro the detector, I just say lol. Just going for the NM is all, props on the imagination though.

I've known Elfry for a long time now. I meet him when he was in the low 40s. Elfry is a good guy, I consider him a friend. I also know stinna and know she is one of the nicer people in the game. Liking people on both sides I won't say much.

I will let elfry know about this so he can choose to defend himself or not.

God forbid that people interpret first come first serve in another way than "first voke first serve".

God forbid that we be civil towards each other.

Understand that this reply is not against you, but against the general atmosphere when it comes to competition in this (game? server?).

I still blame the locked encounters, niak.

You know...I just can't resist. That's incredibly kind of you to be so lenient with them, since they're new and therefore have no idea what they're doing. Maybe you could help them get their subjob items next.

...um. Doesn't deserve a response but I'll send some screenshots to you LS leader if he asks me. So you will know how things happened from our side, so you may refrain from such comments which I could spend a good hour correcting. I have no intentions to flame AD. Trying to keep the peace here. Keep in-game please. These forums breed drama.

Thanks for the post Vimes, when I find any relevance of it to the topic I'll get back to you.

No one was doing that here. There was a perfectly fair situation, an NM about to pop, and members of more than one LS camping it.
One of the LS people there picked up aggro, through carelessness or malice, and the OTHER LS went in to help her out.

She repays this kindness by taking the NM while her rescuers are occupied killing HER aggro. There isn't a lot of 'shade of grey' here, it wouldn't have killed her to let the people that potentially saved her a death take the NM. If she was not in danger of a death, she should have handled her own mess.

It's just a game, and there are real people on the other side of these characters. Look at it this way;

You and another person enter a doctor's office at about the same time and head for the ticket dispenser.
Well, the other person trips. What do you do, leave the person on the floor and grab the ticket, then take a seat?
If you help her up, how would you feel if she then snatched the ticket and went to a seat?

It's not hard to see this from Renkei's perspective. Elfry has yet to come in and say what happened, so I'll reserve judgement on her/him. But I don't see how else to interpret it, if the events were reported as they happened. It wasn't hard to understand the motivation, but the sentiment is disappointing.

I'll stay out of the HNM arguments; if people new to Sky are complete noobs, I haven't even graduated from Atari yet. ;)
I'm not saying it's cool to judge the entire LS on this, because they probably had an instant reaction to defend their LS member, and they were pleased to get the claim. Linkshells don't control their members. But this action on Elfry's part was a bit low.

To see how human nature actually plays out...lmfao...Sioux, thanks so much for your little tale there.

It's so humorous that you brought that up, because Larry David actually plays out the EXACT same situation or something such as that at a doctor's office on his series Curb Your Enthusiasm on HBO. I suggest everyone go watch that episode, if you can find out which one it is, and see what ole Larry does.

Basically, if I remember correctly, he is nice to someone in that episode who fucks him over at the doctor's office. So, later in the show, when he's faced with that same person again, he in turn fucks her over.

Moral of my story, if there is one...(I'm a little intoxicated, since I just got my degree today. =P )...if someone stabs you in the back, do some common courtesy the next time you see them, and stab them in the front. ~.^

I myself know nothing of Sky, because I'm still stuck on ZM4 like a big loser, but I know something of human nature, and there's a reason I'm a misanthrope.

Take care. ^^

Ok, whoever killed it, killed it. Youre not gonna change this fact by trying to get everyone on the server to think less of DIAMOND. Things are gonna happen, the strong move past it and say "hell, we'll get him tomorrow, not a problem."

Probably the best thing about Sky is that when you first enter it, the floor makes the cool little patterns under your feet when you walk. I generally run around up there for a while watching that before I do anything else.

Of course, I like shiny objects too.

Hello Everyone,

I have come here to say my 2 cents and move on.

I sincerely wish this event had never happened and wish that this topic would die.

I am a Sackholder for DIAMOND and I took it upon myself to attempt to diffuse the situation if at all possible. We were in the same zone looking for Zip and we had sent Elfry to look for Zip in another part of that zone. We then claimed Steam Cleaner and were in the midst of killing him when Elfry informed us that Zip was up. For 10 minutes we got constant updates that he was up and then Elfry told us we need to hurry because another LS (RD) had shown up. We then, once SC was dead made haste to assist with killing Zipacna.

Once we arrived we noticed that the other LS (RD) was there and Elfry had just shadowbound Zip once we got to where he was. Once Elfry brought Zip to us we instantly started receiving hate tells and people shouting cuss words at us. Oce Zip was dead I asked KPP to please take it to tells so I could find out the reasoning behind the problem.

I first, as he says in the original post, asked him to calm down. He then proceeded to cuss me out. I then asked him to explain and he did. I thanked him for helping Elfry out, but also informed him that it was their decision to do so. I honestly tried to calm KPP down and see if he could be mature enough to talk like an adult, but he continued to cuss me out.

At that point I had really heard enough from him, even though I wanted to resolve the issue in a calm manner, and informed him that because he had refused to stop cursing at me that I would add him to my Blacklist and to have a nice day.

Some have said that this was a dishonorable event, you are entitled to your opinion, but in the end that is all it is. In no way does our LS promote any kind of "dishonorable acts" against any other LS out there. I can proudly say that I do everything I can to help anyone whenever possible, and our LS tries to do the same on a very regular basis.

Anyway, I am very tired and need some rest. I sincerely hope that by making this post that some of you can understand where I am coming from and end this whole thing.

Moral of the story. If you be nice to people, chance are they will think "It's your own damn fault to helped me." or "You are dumb." Nothing can be done to change the fact, you guys need to move on if i were you. Don't let this get into you, and i am certain not everyone in the server is like "them". There are nice people. Try advoid to make a same "mistake" again next time.

That sounded nice to treat them back. But you don't need to do the same they did to you. Since now gil sellers are training people whoever gets claim in sky. If you ever see them got train just sit back and be "smart", get some popcorn and watch the show. Seems being nice to them is a "your mistake" in their book anyway. They won't appriciate your help.

I would have been happy to let this topic die. As I stated in my earlier post, were anonymous players, and would have been happy to go back to that state. But your post shows I was right to bring this in the open.

At least we agree on the what happened that evening. We obviously totally disagree on the meaning of what happened. When you take out the nice words and rational explanations, you still find no apologies, no solutions, no admission of wrong doing. Basically, the Dorkz are at fault for being the nice guys. This is what was infuriatiang that night and none of your words were diffusing it.

If you truly think you did nothing wrong, then this is your philosophy. But at least, people are now aware of it, and will be cautious in dealing with you or your ls.

I woulda have frankly settled for an public apology, and would have forgotten the whole deal: as people said Zippy will pop again. I have seen none that night, and none here.

This paragraph makes me giggle. I don't know you or yours, or have any dealings with RenkeiDorkz in any means, but this is by far one of the most idiotic things I could ever hope to read on these forums, and it has made my day so much brighter because of it.

I'm going to try to wrap my head around this, so bear with me for a second.

You, Kingpopof, are angry at Dragonice and apparently all of DIAMOND, because you lost an NM pull, correct? This NM is Zipacna, an NM used to pop a God, correct? Still with me?

A ranger named Elfry zooms in, obviously going after Zipacna - the NM you had intended to pull. Not pulled. Intended to pull. You had not engaged, hell, as far as I know, you had not even gotten close to the mob.

A catch! Elfry grabs aggro, which you and yours so graciously take off Elfry's hands. A kind gesture, to be sure. Elfry, in turn, proceeds to claim Zipacna, the object of his attention at the time. The mob that is no longer the object of your attention. Because, after all, you took the detector, remember?

So, DIAMOND proceeds to claim Zipacna and, obviously, defeat it, while your attention is erstwhile engaged on a mob you willingly attacked, that you were under no obligation to attack, and, that in all honesty (not to mention common sense) you should not have attacked. Pardon the excessive commas. I'm rather fond of them.

I fail to see where the problem lies. So you payed a kindness to a sole ranger that, if he was skilled enough, was in no danger whatsoever. Big deal. He was in no way obligated to return the "favour" in kind, and it would have been quite silly for him to do so.

Elfry wasn't in any way, shape, or form in the wrong for continuing with the mission he was sent to do. Just like you are in no way, shape, or form any more noble for graciously taking the aggro off his hands.

All I see from you is a tirade against somebody that beat you to a pull. The "public apology" bit is quite ludicrous. What's he going to apologise for? Being faster at a pull than you? Are you going to make everybody that beats you to a pull publicly apologise? If so you might want to make one thread and just keep it going. You'll have a large list in no time.

Yeah, bring on the karma campers. Have the fuckin' balls to show yourselves, eh? I wish I could be big and bad an anonymously (and feably) try to gouge somebody's posting karma on boards. Go ahead and rate me into oblivion. It just proves I hit a nerve, and that's all I came here to do. Congratulations for being predictable.

Thats about the way i read it too.

I can also say not everyone is overly competetive, last time we were at Zip we got some /tells asking where we were to avoid confrontation. I forget which LS it was but they were very polite.

Yes this is how it should, and most of the time does happen.

If one LS is at one god pop mob, the other LS goes to a different one to avoid any problems with stealing etc.

We have done this many times and have also recieved the same courtesy in return. In the long run it avoids drama and posts like this.

Sadly not everyone follows this, I guess you could call it etiquette, in sky.

King P.

If you have beef with someone, please deal with that person directly. I do not engage in dishonorable behavior nor is that the practice of my linkshell DIAMOND.

Dragonice is a exceptionally nice guy, if you had engaged him in a coherent dialogue instead of cursing him out, I’m sure the out come of this matter would have been better. The common practice for something like this would have been to return the good deed you voluntarily made by saving the life of Elfry, by either letting you know of a spawn time for a trigger NM or assisting in some other matter.

Instead of seeking to blast a linkshell on a public forum, try opening up a discussion between the parties at hand, this helps out linkshell relations, which to me is more important than a singular trigger NM.

I’ve heard nothing but good things about you King P. and I’m sure I’ll continue to hear them. I hope we can move on to bigger and better things from this confusion.

he entire situation had to do with elfry, but yet the post is titled "dragonice, diamond, and unhonorable behavior". now is it very honorable to try and ruin the immage of a linkshell because one person did something you didnt agree with? you didnt even mention elfry in the title of the post. why doesnt it read "bad player alert, elfry" or why didnt you add elfry to the bad player list.

Did you even read the post? It clearly mentions 3 people. Elfry, Dragonice, and Elite.

You talk of how Elfry could have done this, and could have done that. That's exactly the point! He didn't. The resulting conversation after the battle gave Diamond a chance to explain and act properly. They didn't.
