No offence to any LPN's out there, we just got a bad one.
Went to the Dr yesterday as we are 4 weeks away from this baby coming and have weekly visits from now on.
I'm sure some of you know that we didn't want to know the sex of the baby. We had done so well and didn't know for 8 months.
Yesterday the LPN walks in to take vitals before the Dr. and says "Oh so you're having a boy then?" O.O
Wintaru: o.O
Biancataru: O.o
LPN: >_> <_< er...or I guess we're calling it "the baby?"
She then proceeded to try to cover up her mistake and failing miserably.
I comforted my crying wife while we waited for the Dr. After the visit we were able to rationalize it and be excited about it :D My parents are freaking out for sure. So after 8 months of doing so well, we know and can announce that I'm having a boy! :D
Is it just me, or would you think the LPN should know that you NEVER start a conversation with an expectant couple by announcing the sex of the baby? In the off chance that the couple may be old fashioned and may not want to know? Hell even the ultrasound tech (we had another ultrasound done to determine the size, I'll get to that in a minute) asked before measuring leg length to make sure something didn't show up that shouldn't.
On to the size, my wife is at 36 weeks, meaning she has 4 weeks to go. Our child...quite frankly...is a behemoth at 8lbs already O.O He could be larger than 10lbs if she goes to 40 weeks so he's going to check everything and if in 2 weeks all is well she will be induced so I could be a daddy very soon :D
That's all I had, a little bit of good news, a little bit of great news, and a little bit disgruntled. Carry on ^^
