Anyone notice that there are a couple of "Holier then thou" people on this forum? It's kinda scary, people come here to post their opinions then some *** comes along and points out how they are wrong in every way. I thought an opinion was the posters own thoughts.. how can they be wrong? I know I'm going to get rated down... by one person in particular, who is the biggest *** on this forum, but oh well. I just find things like that interesting. It's like they think everyoe else is beneath them... quite entertaining really... Ok.. you may now go back to your regularly scheduled flaming and general **************

If people want to post opinion thats fine.
If people want to post opinion posing as fact and slandering a large portion of the bismarck community well... people are going to be unhappy.

Opinions can be wrong. Happens all the time. If you share your opinion in an open forum, you're giving a green-light to anyone who disagrees to share their own opinion, and tell you why they believe yours isn't as valid.

I think it was more in reference to people who disagree for the sake of disagreeing, not because they believe otherwise.

actually opinions cant be wrong..

i belive cats > dogs... thats my opinion..

now if i said it as "cats ARE greater than dogs" stating it as a FACT.. thats when its not longer an opinion and can be treated as 'right and wrong'

otherwise, my prefernce for cats over dogs.. or my opinions about rdm.. or my thoughts concerning other things... theyre all opinions and thoughts and prefernces... not facts.. and therefore can not be right or wrong

No, you're just wrong because you're an idiot.

That aside...meh. I mainly disagree these days to get people riled up. Funny to see people lose it when something they care about is brought under fire. Dragoon post, anyone? >.>

EDIT: *hopes he's not the biggest ******* on these forums...* >.>

Oh, I know man :) I'm not trying to be one of those people here, lord knows there's a lot of that going on. All I'm saying is that when it comes to expressing opinions on the internet, you always have to go into it assuming someone will disagree with you, even if for no better reason than they think they see a chance to 1-up someone.

In terms of personal preference, no, an opinion can't be wrong because the valuation is arbitrary.

Not all opinions are about preference though. An opinion is a belief held without factual knowledge. It could be your opinion, for instance, that cats are more intelligent than dogs. That's an opinion that can be proven or disproven. Stating it as fact doesn't change it's status as an opinion, because it's not based on factual knowledge, just your personal observations.

You're all cool and all...just...don't do it around me, k? ;) :P

Ok, even I'll take some responsibility on that issue if it's being dished out. The person who fanned the flames is just as responsible for keeping the fire going as the guy who started it, eh? Gotta <3 that humble pie. Yum!

As for people posting their opinions, sure. By all means, feel free. Just always do your best to back it up with facts, not heresay or because it's "public knowledge." I love having a civilized debate on certain issues and people presenting differences of opinions opens floor to new thought and ideas. So, I think with a solid foundation in facts, differing opinions are a plus for everyone. :)

[Edit]: Stupid typo. ><'

Just to make this more clear.. no one that has posted thus far was the "one person"

As far as opinions being wrong, they simply can't be. Now if someone stated their opinion as fact, as someone posted earlier then yes, it can be wrong. I'm just sick of people arguing for the sake or arguing and to make themselves feel smarter or more important then they really are

Ok you made a post to say you were mad at someone, but you're not going to tell us who it is. What's worse than a flame thread? An anonymous flame thread lol. All eyez on me i guess. That's really... mature.

Want me to pass her a note at recess?

Can your dad beat his dad up?

Grow up.

As rudely as this is stated, I kind of agree with this person.

If you have a problem with visitors of the forum, why don't you send a PM instead of posting a thread anonymously referring to them and garnering community support?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding though :)

*sighs* This post wasn't about starting a flame war, or pointing fingers, which is why I haven't and won't mention anyone's name... because it is simply my opinion. I just think it is sad when people come here for guidance, to pose questions, or simply write soething, and they are berated. It's just sad. And I respect the opnion of the last two posters, but in my thoughts I think you misunderstood.. but oh well ^^ No worries

I'm simply disagreeing with Kalani on the fact that people disagree just for the sake of disagreeing.

...

even though I really don't disagree at all.
