1. the mobs change jobs.. if you use that yellow liquid stuff on the AH, you can freeze them in one job.. then they pull out the lance (drg job) freeze them with liquids.. its their weakest form and easiest to kite (not sure if you knew this or not)

So says you..The Nuetral(Jobless)mode is best IMO but hey, Im no rocket Scientist.

2. rdm/nin cant 'tank/kite' at lvl 40.. the selection of gear we get is pretty pisspoor and gravity just DOES NOT like to land on those things.. so kiting as a rdm/nin is out of the question.. youll die before the first one gets below 90% hp..

You are quite wrong again..Sounds like your RDM was clueless. See following posts. RDM/NIN is an awesome kiter for this as long as you dont gimp yourself in gear and have certain magics uncapped.

It may be a good idea for you to use the "IMO" with some of your statements rather than your "I know all" attitude.

In regard to RDM kiting.

I did this, with every +INT available to me, obviously capped magic, the whole shebang, and I simply did not get gravity to land. Bind also lasts all of five seconds, and it was resisted once. This was as RDM/NIN, and I used exactly 4 shihei before everything went to hell. I was pretty much the first to die, even after using around eight hi-potions, and it all went downhill from there.

Seriously, I have yet to read a strategy for RDM kiting besides gravity (which just doesn't work) and bind/utsusemi/hi-potions (which I died in about eight or so minutes). If anyone has a strategy for this, please enlighten me.

Het Arria,

Zing was our RDM/NIN for this run so I cant say from personal knowledge but he decked himself out in evasion gear and used a jacl-0-lantern also I believe. His gravity and bind did land for the most part but your right, it only lasts a few seconds. That few seconds did buy him time to cast Ustu tho.

The mammet was never withing 20 feet of him for the most part. He tried to keep on the full opposite side of kiting area than the mob. I was the NIN kiting counter-clockwise with him so I got to see what he was doing. We both did use yellow liquids to try to keep the BLM mob from showing up.

This was our second attempt. On the 1st run, he came decked out in enfeeb gear. He says the evasion gear and jacks made all the diff in being able to keep Utsu up and to keep from taking as much damage when Utsu wasnt ready yet.

My 2 cents

Indeed, I was decked in INT and enfeebling gear and a sweet rice cake for food. Evasion gear and a jack-o-lantern sounds like an excellent idea. I just may try that, if I can manage to get Worldcut and the gang to do it again.
