Fenrir question:Follow

OK, after recieving a god awful amount of /tells asking me if I had Fenrir, and then promptly being decline for parties when they find out I lack him; After being booted from a PT in favor of, a RDM((that made 2 rdms in their PT)); After trying and failing to be a summoner and summon, and being flammed for it((Stoneskinga is useless... save that MP for cures plzkthx)); After trying to convince people to join a PT and all goes well until they ask if I have Fenrir in translation text, and my saying no, and them saying no in a translated sentence... I have come to one conclusion:

In order for me to enjoy playing SMN; In order for me to get ingo Parties; In order for me to enjoy my game; In order for me to actually get positive comments instead of negative ones, or positive ones with "...but if you had Fenrir we probably could've done a longer chain."; and in order for me to overall get out of this depression, I have come to only one conclusion:

It is time for me to pay a high level PT so let me leech a Fenrir fight. I of course still need the Primes, but i'm pretty sure I can get those done on my 53 brd in a LS i'm in... i'll push for it anyway.

If you're a SMN on Bismark and are reading this; or perhaps another job that is preferably 75 that has done the SMN battle b4 with a leech, or are 100% you can do it with a leech, please contact me. I'm willing to pay 200k to each person who participates in the Fenrir battle if gil is an issue.

However, know that 500k will be paid up front; and the final 500k after I recieve him as a summon. ((Which means you have to wait for me to actually summon him outside Windurst before I hand over the rest. Although, i'd be willing to pay up front if need be.))

I know this is a despicable act, but by god I want to enjoy my game with the job I have chosen to play. It has come to my attention that I either need Fenrirs buffs and debuffs, or i'll be passed up by alot of parties. No... by 100% of the parties that ask me, as well as being declined by those I ask when I try to start one.

If you want to help me with this, or know someone who could do this for me, please tell me so that I may get a hold of them.

Assuming I can't get the help on the Primes, i'd be willing to pay for the Primes from someone also.

My BRD is 53, but it's just useless as its current usefulness to me is over: Genkai 1, and Genkai 2. ((was easy finding a PT...))

I thought I could be 60 by now and so I would at least have some AF pieces. I was wrong.

I don't even have my AF1... Why is it NO ONE wants to go to the Cloisters? I don't even LOOK like a summoner, aside from my Himmel Stock which looks like any ordinary WHM item. As a matter of fact, I look like a WHM instead of a smn. Which, I don't mind main healing; if people would not /kick me in favor of another RDM, or pass me up for a WHM or a RDM to main heal just because I lack Fenrir.

Main Heal + Support is what I try to do, but when I get invites to main heal((Which is rare... VERY rare)) and I try to buff with some Avatar BPs, I get flammed and told "We need your MP to cure us, not save us all 3 hits!" or "We need your MP to cure, not save us all from one Bomb toss!".

I'm just tired of all this... i'm so close to my AF1, and I strongly believe the only way i'll reach part of my goal as a SMN; to actually LOOK like one, is if I had Fenrir.

I garauntee you 10:1, if I add "Fenrir: OK" to my search comment, i'd get alot of invites. Not for the shear fact his BPs at my level aren't really important because of how they need to be timed with the Moon Phases, but because "zOMG Fenreer is cool!!!1!11". I honestly don't believe I would be invited to actually use his BP's... but to let him melee, and maybe have him escort me around while I 2hr.

However; if this gets me invites, and I know for a fact it will because a galka SMN who had Fenrir in his search comment got a PT over me, then I will leech him if I can find anyone to do it for me.

You're the nicest person i've spoken to all day... Shouting for 6 hours straight for help on my SMN AF1 while seeking for an XP party this morning... and being shunned for yet another day, really depressed me to the point I just wanted to cover my computer in Thermite and ignite it. :\

Not to mention I can only get on in the morning in U.S. central time... however tomorrow, i'm off so I hope to at least, at the VERY FREAKING LEAST solo my 1k to level 49 again. Who knows... maybe even get a decent buffer for the eventual death i'm sure to recieve from DS+Curaga i'm sure to recieve again.

I've heard he is weaker at melee than Ifrit is, and I sorta don't think Fenrir can top 30s on a Rumble Crawler like Ifrit was doing. ((no other avatar hit for more than 16ish))

I have heard the arguements on Fenrir, so yes I know he isn't the strongest avatar. However, I also know if you add him to your search comment, you are more likely to get a PT... and for that reason alone, I would leech him.

EDIT: I know Spinning Dive is incredibly good, but i'm not quite that high. Thanks for the vote of confidence that i'll make it that high though... ^^;

His non-BP melee is actually better than Ifrit...? OK, now you're piked my intrest a little more. The other day I was in CN with Ramuh since our BLM left.

It was Me(smn48), whm47, rng47, sam47, and pld47.

Not only did we seriously molest everything we fought; Blazer Beetles, Rumble Crawlers, and even Mushushus with ease; we did it in ALOT LESS time than we ever did with the BLM. We also never came close to death, as opposed to when we had the blm. We also chained them left and right. Truly an amazing party... should've lasted longer than it did, but when bst and 2 more parties show up, there's not much to keep people from wanting to call it quits. ;-;

Note: This wasn't the BLM almost dying, it would be the PLD and RNG.

When the BLM left, and I started to keep Rolling Thunder up predominantly while letting Ramuh melee for a bit... everything just seemed to just die so fast... Ramuh just makes Ifrit look bad ATM on everything with Enthunderga; all those numbers adding up is glorious! ((We all melee'd btw))

But to not get off topic; If you say his Melee is better than Ifrit((whom I let melee a bit in b/t some Earthen Wards)) Then perhaps Fenrir would be a better choice then? If that's the case, I want him even more... but I just absolutely love the way Ifrit looks. Why do you think I only have a Fire Staff atm? ((getting Dark and Light soon... but just had to get a Fire because I love Ifrits design)).

OK. I'll definately give you a /tell this weekend for the AF1.

I'd like to note that it's hard to find a good LS and be supportive on them enough to ask such things asI have just laid out to you all; I'm hardly on when they are... ;-;

I have a LS with several Dynamis-friendly people, but I can't ask them because: 1) I've been gone for about a year in the game and haven't helped them in their harder times 2) I can't possibly help them aside from make their wallet bigger slightly, so it'd be a burden i'd see everyday 3) It's not my character to ask a friend something when I knew full well that gil would never be enough to thank them. ((If I didn't go AFK for this time; I probably would've been in dynamus with them... so you understand why asking them is something that is NOT in my character. I'd feel like i'm betraying them... I wasn't even able to help in their AF run today for a SAM helmet.))

Not that i'm saying anyone who helps me wouldn't be my friend. Of course you would. You would be my hero... I know that may seem a bit exagerated, but it's true. A stranger offering to help me whether gil is offered or not is truly a blessing from Altana!

I wouldn't mind getting in on a Fenrir run if they wanted to take a gimp WHM. I only need Ifrit's and Titan's whispers and I'll be ready to go.

Sadly I can't offer money for it though.

As far as not getting parties, I've never had the kind of bad luck you're having. I would say you were better off not being in those parties if they think that Earthen Ward is a useless ability.

I also think you need to be prepared to either heal a lot, or if you refuse to do so have a lot less parties. I think SMN is all about being flexible and adjusting to the party's needs. Awias would know much more about SMN than I, but this is what I've found from the short amount of time that I've been playing it.

In every PT i've ever gotten as a SMN, from Valkurm to Crawlers Nest; i've been the main healer. ((sometimes with a backup for the hard areas... like Valkurm without cure2)) I have no problem with main healing, so long as everyone realizes that I am in fact a Summoner before I am a White Mage. I'll cure for you, but if/when I have an extremely high amount of MP after each fight, I'd just like for people to not get upset when I use Earthen Ward, or Spring Water, or w/e. Hey, You guys have Skill ups you need, and so do I. ((not only that, but Spring Water is very MP/time effective.))

However, when we have a Ninja... I do absolutely NOTHING. I constantly have 700+... If i'm quick I can get off Earthen Ward before someone tells me to stop and just conserve my MP for the AoE's.

Somehow Earthen Ward isn't "Capped" or w/e like the WHM Stoneskin doesn't exactly cap for it's absorbtion. ((I honestly don't know anything about whether Stoneskin or Earthen Ward cap... but I didn't notice it while I was leveling WHM... I got hit quite a bit ^^; )) I may be wrong, so maybe everyone on Bismark but me, a few select people((like the people who have experienced these things in person)), or people who thoroughly read every topic in a forum to understand everything, are right. ((wouldn't doubt it either. i'm usually never right anyway... haha))

Another thing is I don't know why, but DS+Curaga > Earthen Ward AND Spring Water. ((wtf is with these people? Spring Water is a godsend and they know it!))

Servers are down ATM... so I can't go /invite on while working on Windy fame. ((It's almost at Ifrit+Ramuh Prime activation level, but not quite... so close.))

OK, so i've figured out the cost that I can afford, if anyone is interested in it:

20k for each Prime avatar you solo for me. ((looking for a RDM/NIN 75/37; i'll even provide a stack of Shihei on top of each 20k.))
200k to each member in the Fenrir fight they allow me to leech off of. 50k each before the battle, and((assuming we win)) the other 150k when I finally summon him in Windurst. This is so if we somehow lose, i'm not giving a million gil away if it won't be for another couple days for me to see its use. ((Y'know... in case someone dies and gets angry that we lose and decides to not do it.))

However, if it'll be a problem, I could part with it all up front... but you'd have to convince me sincerely that you won't abandon me. ((I've felt betrayed so much in this game that I don't trust many people anymore))

OK, after not getting a PT today, I had plenty of time to get My Windy fame one more level and now have activated Ifrit and Ramuh Prime.

As soon as I take down all the primes, i'll be ready for Fenrir... the only problem is, I don't know anyone who whould either invite me to a PT for one, or solo them for me for 20k each.

If any of you know someone who can do so, please let me know either in game, or by email. Or, just have them /tell me.

I'll be on the game /invite for another 3 and a half hours...

I got one party today. One. It sucked. So bad. The pld would NOT rest at all; the WHM d/c when the THF pulled the mob after the PLD said "AFK". I say he did it on purpose. I don't care what the story is; it was too convenient to not. Luckily he dropped his bomb as the PLD and WHM got back.

I left after that. 1k XP in an hour and a half? No. Thank you. I'll skill my staff up on Tabar Beaks while I wait, TYVM.

But anyway... if you know someone who can solo the Primes for me, let me know somehow. They are worth 20k each... why? Simply b/c that is the usual going rate, and if you can solo them, you don't even need 20k. :P I'll even throw in a stack of Shi-Hei if your main/sub needs it on top of the 20k.

I try, believe me. No tanks my level are usually on. We lack mages early on, and tanks mid-game. What do we lack near the end of the game so I know in advance?



Know that i'm leeching him, and that it's not particularly the kinda thing people would volunteer for, and that i'm leeching it again. The fact that people would help, even if its only for gil............ well, perhaps if you where in my place and your brain worked as weird as mine does, you'd understand. I have a very off way of thinking about things, so not understanding me one moment, but the next is just fine is normal. ^^;



I was booted from a PT today for not having Fenrir. I'm at the level where we need Dispel from SOMEONE((BRD, RDM or SMN)) to actually do good against certain mobs, so that was understandable. However; I should note that I was invited to a VERY good Party full of Japanese players this morning... they stayed an extra hour to get me to level 50.

Reason it took so long to get through 49 and to 50, was a number of reasons:

1) We had competition. Lots of it. Read on to see the #1 competition we had.

2) Didn't have Dispel but since I was invited to be a SMN instead of a WHM, then Shiva was out messing up Beetles. Stoneskin woulda been up alot more, but this Ninja... lmao This Ninja was spamming Utsusemi Ichi and Ni like nobodyes business. He never got hit except for those incredibly rare occasions which the mob got lucky. His HP never dropped low enough to care though... I swear, this Ninja made every tank i've had before; EVERY SINGLE ONE look like quite a gimp. <_<;

The WHM kept him Hasted, so that was probably one of the reasons he was soo good. For Distortion((all we did)), he used that Ninja spell that can burst with it((forgot name)) for a 100ish each time, the WHM bursted Blizzard I for 40-80ish each time, and I bursted Blizzard II off Shiva for 10-306((resisted sometimes... even on a burst. Usually hit for 200+; rarely below 200, but it did)). This PT was so great until:

3) Serket popped near the end of the PT. The people trained him around the room MPKing anyone they could; They trained Tainted FLesh, FallenMajors, Vault WEapons and those upper level ghosts to the area to kill off anyone leveling. Serket put my party in friggin red by that AoE. His AoE radius is super huge... ;-;

This is one reason I hate Garlaige: I've died a couple times to Serket in the past. I hate him so much...

They didn't once ask me for Fenrir in translation text. I told them I don't speak Japanese in translation, and they never once asked for Fenrir. This PT had EVERYTHING under control. The WHM used Erasega quite often too.

I had another PT... but god that DRG and THF were horrible. The DRG stole hate every chance he got with Penta Thrust; the THF NEVER pulled until we all had full hp/mp. This was in Quicksand Caves.

The BRD, BLM and PLD where all good though. The DRG got annoying when he started to sing in the PT. We asked him to stop, then when the brd ignored him, he started to shout his lyrics. Shortly after that, me and the brd left. I'm glad he died twice. He deserved it for ruining that potentially perfect PT.

I'm now fifty... but i'd like to PT with english speakers y'know? Sure, these Japanese party invites I get once or twice a month are OK, nya, they are godly, but even if it's once a month, i'd like to get a good PT of english speaking individuals. And in order to do that, I need Fenrir. Why is that? Because before they booted me from the PT, one of them said "The BRD is afk but the RDM has Dispel."

I realize the point is for hate... but if you'd have been there, you would see that they weren't trying to do it right. The THF and DRG where in the same building too it seems.((The DRG typed on the THFs player while he was AFK eating... wtf. eatning in a pt?)) So I don't think they where trying for any sort of strategy...

If they had any sort of strategy, then the PLD could've done a better job with the hate management. He was good mind you, even with the DRG and THF messing it all up. The pld died twice too... ;-;

Oh, and the first time the DRG died was because he backed away from the Antican when his HP hit red after spamming Penta Thrust every chance he got. He was out of range, and when I finally could cast on him by inching closer, I was silenced by that AoE. So, he was screwed. The pld died with him but oddly enough we killed the Antican with the sliver of HP it had with melee... haha The THF even tanked it with the left over hate he had and his Utsusemi. That was cool. I was hit several times before he turned to the THF, leaving me with 150ish hp. ;-; ((one more hit, and i'd be dead. he hit me for 120-160 damage each time))

The second time the pld died was to Quake going uninterruped. >_<;

The 2nd time the DRG died, was because he was stealing all the hate from the PLD with his Provoke and Penta Thrust combo. .v.

He was never situated for the SA+TA maneuver either. He was always on the side with the PLD. When the PLD moved, he did.

I am glad he died, and I should have never wasted MP curing him.

...omg that felt good! Since i'm not whm main, I can say things like that and get away with it. :O

Double Post, and sorry.

Today... I was refused entry into two parties because I did not have Fenrir. Yesterday, I was asked to join one for a brief moment before I went to farm for Promyvion Anima... and when I was asked if I had Fenrir and replied no, I was told "oh ok, nvm then.".

I only got one worth-while party lately, and that was with a taru rdm named Buddah, who BTW is an exceptionally nice fellow. I was in Quicksand Caves the otherday a couple times, the first time we had a RDM and I was asked to main heal. The second, there was a debate whether to kick me for a RDM and I just remained silent during their debate, until one of them said "***** it, let's just continue ok? I'd like to level up before I turn 100 years old!" That hurt... that hurt alot. A smn friend of mine went from 55-56 in the time it took me to get ONE party that barely got 600 XP an hour because we could not chain, and had to heal to full after each fight, largely due to no Dispel. No RDM's where on at the time, so no talks of getting rid of me for one never came up.

To be honest, I can't give you a number on how many parties I have tried to make and how many have invited me in, and have never came to be because someone somewhere always has to have Fenrir. A Rank 2, gimped level subjob warriors ask for Fenrir, and when I tell them no, told me i'm a worthless smn and to GTFO his server. Regardless of his rank and subjob, and then him telling me that was irrelevant. What he said still got to me. I can't give you a number because I have lost count after 50 from just last week alone. God knows how many people will refuse to start a PT with me this week. Assuming I even log back in this week.

Without Fenrir, am I nothing but a gimped /whm? Without Fenrir, am I nothing but a no-rate rdm? What is a smn without Fenrir on this server?! What makes him so special that a SMN with Fenrir at 55 hit 56 LONG before I even got into a crappy where I died and lost more XP than what I gained?

Someone please tell me why he is so special! Why are people like this?! I realize he has Dispelga and stat boosts at 54... but i'm not 54 yet! I'll never even hit 54 anytime soon at this rate...

Eleusynia; again, i'm sorry if i'm not on later today for the Promyvion run, this is really getting to me. A great deal of my friends are in the 70's range and I should be too, but since I lack this "GODLY" summon, i'm still where I was a year ago. People wondered why I took a leave of absence from the game? Well, this is the same reason. Fenrir.

Apparently he either makes or breaks a summoner, and it's driving me insane with the invites I DON'T get for not having him.

Uragirimono is my in-game name, and yes I still need the primes.

I just tried to solo in Ifrits Cauldron... chained to 2 real safe, but the last one berserked and ate through Carby so fast and I died... so now i'm off to Quicksand Caves to mess with some Worms. At least Carbuncle doesn't care if I don't have Fenrir.
