...what happened?? We've been talking about the sudden lack of interest over in the Moronathon thread for over a week now and nobody outside of the committee has breathed a word, which leads me to believe that nobody outside of the committee is even reading anymore. There were a lot of people posting originally who thought all this stuff was a great idea and who have apparently lost all interest in it, so if someone could please tell us committee members, so we know what we're doing wrong, we'd really appreciate it.

It's ok Dawn, we forgive you. ;)

Anyone else? There have been at LEAST ten people who expressed interest in the first place and it's really sad to me that that's just died down all of a sudden. Can anyone at all give any reason they were once interested but aren't anymore, or why they were never interested in the first place?

Yes, I'm still interested, though I keep missing the dates.

While it may be Spammy, Maybe a Post in which the topic is:

Moronthon Part Veloute! Oct. 3 2004

And the main message would be:
9PM EST/6PM EST
House of the Hero, Windurst Walls
Be There or Be.... Some...where....else

Guys, please. I'd really like more input. I'd hate for this idea to die. :(

I basically say the same as DawnTreader. I've been busy with other things, and I finally got some quality time in-game yesterday afternoon and today. Also, I work for another website, so I've recently been doing a lot of development there and I haven't come by Allakhazam much lately. ;)

OK! I have an idea....

I know a lot of people keep telling me they just "forget" until after it has pasted.

Would It help any if we had like a reminder message? Maybe I can send everyone who signed up a message an hour or two prior to the event to remind you?

(we need MORE feedback!!!!!!!)

Heck, the way I am, you should /tell me every time you see me. :P

No, I'm just kidding. I'll try to remember. Do we need more entrants, or more staff? Or both?

I'd recommend stationing someone in every major city a couple days prior to advertise... get the word out! :-) I'd be interested in laughing at everyone and being on support staff... too laggy to actually participate ;_;

Ok, so, our ideas are that we should have people posted in cities beforehand, that we should make a new thread for every new event, and that we should send messages to those who have expressed interest to remind them about what's going on? Sounds good to me. Maybe it'll help... I hope... >>

I'm not sure how much trouble it would be for everyone, but I wouldn't mind a message *in game* about the event. Unless by message that's what you meant?

I have been busy when you've had it, but I'm also confused as to when exactly they were. As Cambot said, we should have a thread for specific details.

But my computer at home is basically a paperweight right now. I hate to get on it and rarely boot it up on the weekends. So if there was a time change or an event was planned, I'd totally miss it.

If there could maybe be a list made of everyone interested and if it isn't too long..maybe someone could mail all of us with the info??

A /tell in game would be a great idea... I have a horrible memory most of the time, so if I'm ever not there but I'm online just start yelling at me and I'll come.

I did mean a message in game hehe :)

I think we can do that, we'll make a list of all those who have ever expressed interest in the events and we can hammer out a way of sending out "Reminder" messages either through POL messages or just sending /tells.

Should we try this??
(Although not this weekend, well I cant anyway, as it's our Thanksgiving and I will have family stuff on sunday ; ;)

I have a suggestion...

Make a Moronathon Linkshell, then dispatch sackholders to major cities before the event for advertising and distribution of pearls to participants. You could update the LS message (that... thingy that comes up when you log on to a LS! ><) with time and date info.

So are we going to try this again??

Or should we just give up and cut our loses? (I'd really like to keep trying but if the support and participation aren't there, there's not much we can do ; ; )

I would be willing to help in the event. Like, be one of the people standing in the zone that the groups have to find. I'm willing to help!

Yeah, I tried bumping the old discussion thread and only got a couple of answers. /sigh I'd say yes, let's try it again, but as someone (Demoncide I think) pointed out in the last thread, we probably shouldn't try it for this weekend. Next weekend, then?

Next weekend it is then....if it doesnt work out then maybe it's time we laid the idea to rest (In other words, if you thought this was a good idea and wanted us to keep going, PLEASE show up so we dont waste our time AGAIN).

date and time?

I wont be able to show up most likely <due to differing scheduals from the normal NA player> but if I can make it I will be there

and I will also try to bring a friend or two

I'll have to assume for now that it will be Sunday Oct. 24 @ 8:00, our usual time, although this week is not good for the committee.
