For your info dry, Gween is an excellent Dragoon, warrior and bard. So what if he sucked at RDM. It was his party,SO he could use it how he saw fit. You could have left, But no as it sounds you whined and as a leader I would have booted you to. Also just because someone doesnt have a spell yet, does not mean they suck. Sometime economics just dont play in your favor. How many WHM you know dont have Erase????? Quite a few.
I don't really care if he's level 75 (or even 80 for all I care) DRG, WAR, or BRD. The fact is he did poorly at RDM and saw no reason NOT to do poorly. Yes, he was the leader...but any good party won't have a leader calling
all the shots. Any good party will talk a decision over with everyone and come to a decision. I can't tell you the last time I was the leader of a party (maybe at 12RDM) but in 99 out of 100 parties I'm the one calling the skillchain, regardless of the class I'm playing at the time. I'm not bossy, but I find a SC fast and make sure it's effective against the mob family and ask if everyone else is okay with it or has any other suggestions. They're generally enthusiastic about it.
Also, I did not know I was paying my monthly fee just to be a tool to be used by some schmuck who didn't feel like putting in the effort simply because his current job was only a sub. Guess what, you think BLM is my main? I was still doing my damnedest. I had all my spells current, was keeping hate off me and bursting every time. I even brought a bunch of yag juices to pass out to other mages (pre-41, after all). I offered him to the PLD a bunch of times but he had pineapple juices so he said he was okay. And yes, he was popping juices CONSTANTLY because the fights were lasting so long and the RDM wasn't backup healing.
It sounds like I whined? How in the h*ll do you figure that? I asked him to Dispel please. He said no. I asked, why not? He said 80K {No thanks.} I mentioned that
I had my Dispel scroll on me when I was a level 31 RDM, even when that was my highest job. All he said was "Pff good for you". At that point everyone else in the party started saying it wasn't a good excuse. One member, not me, even said something to the extent of: "Teleport-Altep, 500 gil. Scroll of Dispel, 70,000 gil. Not being in a party with a bossy, ****** RDM, priceless."
I'll stress it wasn't just that he didn't have Dispel. If he had said, "I'm sorry. It's very expensive and I'm having trouble farming for it" I probably would have bought the damn scroll for him. But that's not how he acted.
The second part of my "whining" (I'll explain it again) was after the JP PLD had asked him 7+ times, "{Enfeebling Magic} {please} {Red Mage}" and he still wasn't debuffing. He started nuking with Stone and Water doing 1-2 points of damage each time. He would blow ALL his limited MP that way. At this point my Fire II bursts were landing for about 300, which I think is pretty good for that level considering I'm an Elvaan. I pointed out that his nukes were a waste of MP and for him to please use his MP to enfeeble and backup heal so the PLD wouldn't be juicing/resting so often. He said, ********** you, I'm getting good skillups". I suggested he join a skillup party for skillups. That was when he asked me if there was anything else I wanted to ***** about (after I had made only 2 comments) and that is when I told him I'd already said enough to illustrate that he sucked at RDM. And that is when he kicked me.
One part I didn't mention was that after he kicked me from the party, everyone else disbanded his party, formed their own and invited me. The remaining members complimented me after that party disbanded. Sounds like I was the black sheep, right? If you would have booted me too, then post your in-game name so I could put you right beneath your buddy on my blist. I love partying with good people, and I don't like when lazy people ruin it.
EDIT: Yes, I realize some people can have a bad day and wind up on the bad player's list, as we saw with Ishido. But I would never posted anyone's name if they were just ******** up: missing their bursts, were off on their Refresh cycle, had trouble keeping hate, etc. It generally requires them to have a TERRIBLE attitude in conjunction with at least one of the following: a) TERRIBLE gear (e.g., a lv50 wearing lv7 gear); b) TERRIBLE skill (e.g., not Dispelling, enfeebling, or healing as a RDM); or c) TERRIBLE choice of or far underleveled subjob.
None of the 3 (even if someone met all of them) would warrant me posting their name on here. But when they start having a bad attitude about it, I start wanting to warn others.
Gween was not having a bad day.
