I was in a Valkurm party Friday night with a....not so good Elvaan WHM. The guy was naked - we're talking not a single piece of armor on - and at level 15 (when the party began), he was using a level 5 weapon.

That wasn't the bad part, though. The bad part is that I said no less than 3 times, "Hey, so-and-so, since the party's got two WHMs, let's work out some sort of system for healing so that neither of us wastes MP."

Nothing. Nada. Not a word. So, I figure, "Well, no system, I'll have to wing it." Over and over, I'd hit someone with a Cure only to have him follow up and waste MP. >.< It was terribly frustrating. >.<

/em slaps Ezat for giving Elvaan WHM a bad name.

I appreciate it, Meerkat, but actually, there exists a thread solely for discussion of mentions here so this forum doesn't end up entirely spammed with "OMGZ I AM NOT A BAD PLAYER" threads:

http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/forum.html?forum=35&mid=1095631104179814778&num=0

But seriously, thanks for jumping in. :) Glad I don't have to be the only one trying to keep some sanity here.

Can I add myself? Or, better yet, can I suggest a new thread? My name is not so known, so it would do the thread no good to bear my name, but how about an "I screwed up" list? That is to say... I would add myself because the other night I missed ONE refresh... and of course it was the white mage ;_; and I felt so bad about it because once the white mage goes, everyone goes. He understood, I think, because it was late and I was laggy, but still. Boo. I suck.

There. I feel better. It's like my little confessional.

Chaunchuan

My Story: She was a lvl 11 blm lfg in Valkrum dunes so i sent a invite. She arrived at camp and i examined her and noticed she had 2 Astral Rings. Her being a lvl 11 BLM with no subjob obviously pointed out that its a mule or she bought gil. I didnt bother to ask it isnt my buisness. 5 of us were at camp and she was begging for us to pull so we did and killed for exp. During the length of the party she was shouting about how the pulls are not fast enough and asking for more exp. She was also /telling another blm in our party on how he is doing a horrible job and should learn how to play the job before he gets into a party. (I thought the second Black Mage was doing a fine job). During a fight agiasnt a Goblin i lost aggro because she was nuking the hell outa it (me being a ninja/war) with her 70 HP bc of the astral rings she was down in one hit. She started yelling at all of us. I did find her a raise, after that she disbanned party (I gave her leader earlier bc she asked) now all 5 of us are partyless because our leader just dropped. We had to reform with no reguards from her.

MOXIE: Friend of mine went to do BCNM w/Moxie and a few more from LS. I dunno bout u guys but when I go to BCNM w my LS w sell everything and divide $ but when I go w groups I don't know, whoever put the orb gets the items... That's how most do it. My friend was invited to do it and apparently Moxie didn't have an orb but still lotted on on the items that belonged to her. Since 4/6 of that pt were her "friends" they said it was right even though rules weren't properly explained. Ironically my friend was invited by a pt where Moxie also happened to be but since lil miss Moxie started to bi**h about it and the leader is a "close friend" guess who they ganged up on and kicked...
If you like rules being changed at last minute for their own convenience or if you don't mind playing with naive players who get all upset and have you kicked because things don't go their way, take your chance...

Hehe. I like the confession idea. I'm not a huge fan of 'bad player' threads or 'watch out for this loser' threads, but airing one's own mistakes can be quite constructive in some situations.

I did a bad bad thing a couple of nights ago. A terrible error that cost several people their hard earned xp. Missing one refresh is nothing compared to what I did Y_Y. I can't go on, the agony of reliving it is too much to bear, but if you start up that confession thread, I'll buck up and post it in there.

This happened about a week ago now and would have really pissed me off had it not been so funny. I know this guy was on the old thread but I cant remember who put him there, Maybe Trizz?

And I'm probably going to spell his name wrong but I'm not worrying about anyone mistaking him for someone else because it is so freakin long i dont think it's possible.

Mamosunraiamyou or something like that...

I'm a lvl 50 blm/25 whm, with full MP to heal myself for a LONG time...this guy tried 2 TIMES to MPK me with a thread leech in Pashhow...

<me> Dude, you know it's going to take a LONG time for this thing to kill me, right?
<Mamo> I got a whole lot of time, you stole my crawler..
<me> You're kidding right?

No answer, just sits there healing while this leech hit me for a maximum of 9. So I just keep running around doing my own thing, the leech finally gives up and goes after Mamo...

About 10 minutes later, I havent seen him in a while so I figure I'm alone and I Aeroga a couple of leeches. He comes out of nowhere and claims one and again sits there watching it hit me

<me> Honestly, are you bored?
<Mamo> It's not nice to claim all the mobs..

ALL the mobs....2 leeches is all the mobs in Pashhow.

<me> Really, i don't care that you take one of my leeches, but to actually try to have it kill me?
<Mamo> only way to get you to leave

Now by this point I actually was low on hp/mp and I had changed my gear so my defense wasn't so high, and I was getting hit for about 18-20. Nevermind that I was really starti My WHM friend who was also there, invites me to pt with her.

<WHM> You know what's really sad?
<Mamo> what?

*WHM casts Regen II and CURE IV on me*

<WHM> that's all I have to do to make you waste another 15 minutes you could actually be making money...
<me> you got 10 seconds to take this claim...
<Mamo> or what..

At this point I called a GM, 18 people ahead of me, but I got /telled soon after. I told him what had happened. He asked if Mamo said anything while i was being attacked so I told him what happened. He said He'd look into it.

I dont know what happened exactly but about 10 minutes later, Mamo just disappeared. Maybe he just logged I dunno..but anyway, I second whoever put him on the list the first time.

Not the first time he's done this sadly. Back when I was leveling my MNK in the Jungle, this person spent about an hour training about 10-15 gobs to the Kazham zone per chance, closing down the whole damn place. After the GM's finally answered, they threw him in "jail" for one day.

Here is one player I couldnt pass up adding: Luceid;
37 or so thief with war sub. Now she is a bad player but I wouldnt warn you guys about here just for being a bad player not everyone can be great. Now this thief is aweful doesnt understand SATA still, was wearing ranger like gear (archer knife, feather collar +1, - acc + ranged acc rings, no earrings, no mantle, leather belt, body feet and leg armor that only added defense... basically the gear wasnt just bad but it made no sense on a thief. But agian thats not the biggest gripe about her she had no idea how to play and everyone in the pt was trying to tell her that she needs to SATA to the played at the mobs back she didnt get it and always wanted to trick it onto me no matter which way the mob was facing (forcing the ninja to have no hate control). When the pt asked her what was up with her gear (about 2 hours into the pt) she replied this job is a ginuea pig you wouldnt understand. She basicaaly acted like she knew it all and told us she was the thief not us and for us to do our jobs and not worry about hers. To which I replied (im pt leader) Your ginue pig our exp leech /goodbye.

I'll vouch for Ladyriku's testimony. I was in the party when it first formed, and Luceid was making my job harder more than anything. She seemed to be confused as to how SATA worked, and we had to assume some awkward tanking roles because of how unreliable and slow her SATAs were.

As for her equipment roster...Hume female, mostly Bone equipment. I don't recall seeing anything over Lv. 20 (this was a CN party) except for her Chakram (which she saw fit to use at every available opportunity).

I eventually disbanded because my LS was calling for signups for Promyvion, and Luceid made a boneheaded mistell into party chat insulting us all and saying that we were bossy and acted like we knew everything. Well, when you compare my limited knowledge to the quantity of *zero*, I can see how you'd think it was "everything". :P
#40REDACTED, Posted: Oct 18 2004 at 6:16 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I am shocked at these threads. I could understand a malicious players thread, but a bad players thread? Remember, we could have been called bad players when we started off. Or even bad players could turn into good ones if they try hard enough or we give them a chance with some guidence.

That's why this is PLAYERS TO WATCH OUT FOR, not BAD PLAYERS. It's supposed to be for people to warn each other about people who do nasty things. Please at least expend the effort of reading the first post before you get on your soapbox. I am so tired of trying to explain this.

Edit: First post has been edited to make the purpose of this thread even clearer, although I didn't think it was unclear in the first place. /sigh

Byaina, I think it's a lost cause trying to explain this thread...I understand it, but, it's obvious a few people here aren't taking the time to read it through. I know there's some discontent, but if those of you who are seething would relax and realize what Byaina is trying to achieve with this, there'd be little trouble. If you want to flame, please, click this

To stay on topic,

Please keep an eye out for Luckgirl, as I'm hearing horror stories of her Orc trains in Davoi and Ghelsba, and it's apparent she speaks little English (she's notorious for the random "+++++HP OK" tells too). I *think* she may be with Luckhero as a gilseller, but alas, I cannot prove that. Luckily, I am rarely if ever in San d'Orian territory.

Hintokeur...something

Galka PLD/WAR who I had the misfortune of meeting in Crawler's Nest. I was levelling my WHM in a fantastic party. Our WAR/NIN tank was keeping hate amazingly well from 2 blms, a rng, and a drk (wow!) when the DRK had to go. So the leader invited Hinto as a backup tank, and because the WAR/NIN was going to be leaving in a while. So this guy rolls in, and immediately starts bossing everyone around. He's so annoying that he drives off our first RNG (a fantastic player named Hyla) and the WAR leaves, so we end up with a THF and a SAM.

On the first pull of the new setup, Hintowhateverhisnameis starts telling the thief what to do and tells the thief that he's doing it all wrong; after the fight is over, the Thief is so disgusted that he disbands. Claiming that he's a level 70 SAM, he starts telling the SAM what to do too. The SAM (a nice guy) starts getting cheezed, and by now, I've already told the leader that I'll be leaving as soon as a replacement can be found since the PLD is pissing me off.

But it gets worse.

We replace the thief with a RNG, and the only worker crawlers around are right near each other: but Hinto insists that the blms can just sleep it, and demands that the RNG pull. Both me and the SAM are pretty concerned at this point, but the RNG pulls. Sure enough, they link.

5 very frantic minutes later, the SAM and one of the BLMs are dead, and Hinto is crying that he doesn't have Refresh so that's why he couldn't hold hate. (Considering we were all level 35-37, the lack of Refresh is hardly surprising).

I told him he was an idiot, raised the dead members, and disbanded. He turned a fantastic party (we were getting chain 4s before he showed up) into a complete and utter train wreck. Avoid this guy at all costs.

Sounds probable. There's a four-person Luckseries on Cerberus that has a Luckgirl in it.

I would like to add Strifff to this list for many reasons. I have known this person since the Crawler's Nest and ever since then I always run into them and something bad happens. When I was fighting beetles with my set pt Strifff was upset because there was too much competition and pulled a bunch of crawler hunters on to us. My friend died and the rest of us escaped as fast as we could.

Then just the other night we needed a ranger and invited Strifff to our party, because I believe people deserve second chances. So they come to Kuftal Tunnel and order us to move camp. We listen because the exp wasn't too good there anyway and we go to the Terrigan zone. We're in the middle of a fight and Strifff goes AFK for like 10 minutes and just as I stated I was going to kick them, they return. Then they pull a crab and we are fighting when someone runs to zone with two crabs attacking them. We all yell to zone and our black mage died. Then Strifff stays in Kuftal tunnel shouting to us "I want this exp!!" and We insisted they would die but no luck. So then we discover that of course they died and I said I would return to raise them once the zone was cleared. I get word from the black mage that the zone is clear and return to give the raise only to discover that Strifff had HPed so I question them as to why they HPed back to Sandoria. They ignored me for like 5 minutes then disbanded out of nowhere without a word.

Strifff has a bad track record with me so I figured you guys might want to watch out for them too.

I'll second (third?) Ladyriku's post on Luceid . I was playing whm in that group. We had a 59 rdm from our LS helping heal, and Luceid was pulling. My biggest problem was Lueceid kept pulling when the PL wasn't there and we had no mp. Not only once, but twice back to back. Without the PL, and the blms we had that seemed to be alergic to healing, I was under 50mp from the last fight, and here come Luceid with another. ><

Got another thf from the same level range to add too: Demondarkhalo . Same complaint too. Was in a Garlaige pt, the only member of the pt with mp, and he pulled when i had 85 mp. Next day he asks me to pt and I decline, get a /tell and invite from someone else, join that group. Demon's in it. >< This one is getting a PL from a character the nin is controlling. Well after the nin and the PL leave, we're at 5/6 members, looking to reform. Within 30 seconds of them leaving Demon disbands and uses instant warp. Not a word to us. His Viper Bite also did 105 damage the most I ever saw.

Edit: Bold errors

I have one ><

Darkknigth (or something along those lines...Darknight mispelled anyway) a THF.

I partied with her/him in CN at around lvl 39 and she/he would die on the way back from pulling. I checked her/him and found out she had no armour on that was past lvl 20 T.T and it wasnt the good kind such as leaping boots ect.

After her dying 4 times in a row on her way back from the pull i decided i'd give up and go raise my sandy fame a bit.

Then about a week later i was lvling in secret room and she/he was there talking in /say to a party telling them if they didnt invite her she/he was going to train a bunch of crawlers on them (probably would have died on the way back anyway, no NIN sub). I left my party at that point and didnt hear anymore but the leader of that party had blisted and called a GM on them.

A second Strifff (maybe for the second time even!). This person must be 14 yrs old or something because everything they say is absolutely retarded and everything Strifff does seems designed to get all the members of the party killed. He/she was some job, THF I thought and pulled a Goblin Mugger onto our level 14 party after I said, "NO!" like 4 times. Of course, "I am a high lvl RNG I know what to pull" spewed from Strifff's ignorant text. 3 of us died, Strifff types "You guys suck" then disbands.

i'm sorry to interject with an off topic post but please for the love of bastok if you cannot spell the persons name DO NOT POST.

there are far to many altered spellings of popular names that if you aren't sure you could be ruining a good players reputation.

legolas...leglolas .... leggolas....legollas...
darkknight...darknight....darkknihgt...darknite...

Sorry about that.

On a plus note i don't have any new people to add to this list recently. lucky me.

Thanks for posting Winawer, I was actually considering saying something about Hinto, but didn't really have enough solid evidence of him being really horrible until you posted what happened when I left. This is Hyla, btw.

To add to Win's story...our party was chaining like crazy before Hinto came along. Our War/Nin had utsusemi and held hate just fine, which was a task with two blm and a rng. When Hinto showed up, he insisted that since he was a pld, he MUST tank. Backup was just not good enough for him. Since the War wanted to DD, we finally conceded. His Galkan MP started to shine through immediately. Our chain 4s quickly dimished to resting after EACH fight so that he could regain MP. Each time he was poisoned, he spammed party chat with {Poisoned} until he was cured.

I finally was fed up but stayed to grab my level, which was 500xp or so away. I tried to get a ranger to replace me, but he was afk, so I grabbed a Sam. Hinto asked me who was replacing me and I said "Sam/War" and he said "great, i like samurai better than ranger anyway." I joked with him saying "wow, that's the first time i've ever heard anyone say that" and he said "maybe because I am a lvl 70 1 ok?" (Spelling was atrocious, btw). So my cynical self says "Funny, you don't act like one" <disband>

/sigh why do morons always believe they can convince everyone otherwise?

That's pretty vague, and validates my point. Unsavory is very subjective to each person and can simply mean 'I don't like their playing abilities," or the like.
