Something to carry them in, naturally Smiley: wink2 ...Plus my dice/counters, extra sleeves, newly acquired cards, yadda yadda.

I usually take two decks with me for FNM (unless I'm playing draft, then just one). I like having a spare deck for friendly games between matches so I don't get tired of playing the same deck all night. Plus it's a chance to test out new decks without making a tournament out of how much my new idea sucks in practice.

Sure. Just a nicer looking 'bag' Smiley: grin

I understand it doesn't appeal to you. That's cool. Just figured I'd ask in case you saw anything in your days that struck you as a snappy idea. Well, I mean besides throwing all your stuff in a bindle or whatever.

Yeah, that doesn't really work for me, I've never been a fan of the fancy deckboxes, sleeves, foils, signatures or altered cards and I don't even really care about black or white bordered cards. Just about the only preference I have is that I still prefer the old pre 8th edition card frames for Legacy decks.

I'm all for the nice bag though, I've been eyeing a Freitag bag but the €190 price tag is keeping me at bay.

It's a lot of money for a bag made of old truck tarps, seat belts and bicycle tires.

On a sidenote, Khans spoiler season is starting up.
Other than Morph, and come into play tapped wedge lands there's now 2/5 new mechanics revealed in Raid -ETB trigger if you attacked this turn, RWB/Mardu and Prowess -+1/+1 until end of turn for each noncreature spell you cast, RWU/Jeskai.

Joph, love the taste. Seriously. If I cared to bring my cards anywhere I'd use something just like that. Have you tried looking in thrift stores locally? Cause here I see stuff like that pretty frequently.

There's a big monthly flea market we're going to in a couple weeks (first weekend of the month) and I'll see if I spot anything there. I'd not I'll likely go for the Chinese military binocular case because I like the look and size of it.

All aboard the hype train! Onslaught fetch lands will be reprinted. Badly needed price drop and more freedom in modern is a good thing and it could make Khans boxes economically viable to buy with 5 mythic rares worth $20+ even accounting for the pricedrop.

edit: Fetches printed at rare, not mythic rare as I was expecting. That makes them much, much more widely available and may even see them drop to $15-25, glad I sold my Pollluted Deltas for over $100 each a while ago.

Got six figures to blow on an MTG card, but could never find someone willing to ask that much? Look no further. Smiley: laugh

If that video of the surprise discovery of an Alpha Black Lotus card has you itching to play Magic: The Gathering again, then do we have an offer for you. Pristine Comics in Federal Way, Washington — the same store that auctioned a copy of Action Comics #1 for a record $3.2 million — is selling the highest-graded Beta Black Lotus card in existence.

The asking price? A mere $100,000.

As Pristine Comics details on its website, the card is rated 10 by Becket Grading Services, which it argues is more comprehensive than Professional Sports Authenticators (PSA) and Sportscard Guaranty Company (SGC).

“To compare, there is only one BGS-10 Beta Black Lotus,” the description states. “There are 34 PSA-10’s of this same card. An ungraded NM/Mint Beta Black Lotus lists for about $2400.00. PSA-10 sells for about $10,000. By comparison the BGS-10 Beta Black Lotus should command an asking price of $230,000 (when compared to the PSA-10), Or nearly a million dollars when compared to its ungraded counterpart.”

An Alpha Black Lotus card (rated 9.5 by Becket), significantly more rare than its Beta counterparts, sold on eBay last year for $27,302.

As ICv2 notes, Pristine’s eBay auction lists $100,000 as the card’s “Buy It Now” price. However, there is a “Make Offer” button, so maybe the store is open to interesting trades.
Necro Warning: This post occurred more than thirty days after the prior, and may be a necropost.

Hm. wonder how many alpha cards I even have. None would be 10/10s. Most would be 5 or under (they have been played with :p). I still find joy in watching that video, and I've seen it a few times now.

Not really played MtG in a good while (tried to get back in in '13, but lack of people to play with), I hear it is getting a board game?

Think they'd take ten million penny-lands?
