I've never followed the Nintendo console releases these past generations... are they going to cover up those sizable upgrades on the US release to make it more family appropriate?

More info coming out about this game and everything seems good so far. I might end up buying it and a Wii U before the Xenoblade Chronicles X comes out.

Considering there push to be more "Hardcore" this year, with Bayonetta 2 being released and that off the wall FPS being a wii U exclusive announced at E3 this year.(Which prominently featured a sex scene in it's trailer I believe. At the very least a heavily tattoo'd woman with no clothes on.) I don't believe they'll make it less revealing.
I caught up on all the characters and different weapons each character can use in those minute long preview vids. Super excited! Can't wait to use both impa weapons, Zelda rapier, Both lana weapons and shiek.
Setting up my Wii U at the moment. Needlessly annoying since I already had a Network ID... that caused some issues.
Hey, do you want to Create a new ID or link an existing one? *link existing ID, put in all credentials* Sorry, you must be at the latest System version to use online features. Go to the System Update and update your system. *goes back* Hey, do you want to Create a new ID or link an existing one? *link existing ID, put in all credentials* Sorry, you must be at the latest System version to use online features. Had to create a new ID just to get to the main menu so I could do a system update, after which I have to go back and delete the ID and link my real one. Nintendo still sucks at the whole account system.
Then I'll have to transfer my licenses over from my Wii to my Wii U.
I wanted to get the Mario Kart 8 bundle, but they only had the New Mario/Luigi bundle. I figure I'll grab the Mario Kart 8 game later. I picked up Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for the time being, and will see how Xenoblade Chronicles plays on the Wii U. I had 200 Wii points, but nothing is really available for that much on the Wii Shop.
I didn't realize that the GamePad would try to take control of my cable box and TV. But it asked during setup and seems to work just fine.
Hyrule Warriors will be arriving by mail some time later.
I tried out HW for 5 mins in an in-store demo... I'm just not sure as I've never played a DW game before. It feels like a game that would be good to pick up and play occasionally but not invest a lot of time in one sitting... but I'm not sure a game like that is worth the full price. Very torn.

I had a few 5 dollar gift cards from Bing for Amazon that I used to purchase it, so it wasn't too bad. I haven't played it yet though. It's in transit.
So I got my Wii U all set up. My Nintendo Network ID is Tirith (I think... there's a couple names there, that's the one on my profile). Not sure if Nintendo finally uses a single account name for friends and such or if you still have to do code exchanges...
I did pick up Mario Kart 8 while I was getting everything. It's the first one I've played since the Gamecube game. Things feel a bit different. It seems they made drifting and the bonus boost easier. I remember having to flip the analog stick back and forth to start a power drift and then release for the boost. Now it seems like the power drift is just pressing the shoulder button while turning. Not sure how that changes the mechanics yet, cause I seem to remember in the Gamecube version being able to do an opposite handed drift at times thru turns (which I seem to remember had it's benefits). Going to have to play around with it a few times and see how it goes.
I am a little bummed that you can't use the Gamepad to play Wii mode games. Would have been fun to play Xenoblade Chroniles 100% on the gamepad only, but looks like I need to bust out the Wiimote and Pad to play even if I can view it on the Gamepad.
Also, Wii U VC catalog is severely lacking. They need to step that **** up.

Yeah, I still play games like that with the visuals on the itty bitty screen... cause I'm a freak who likes tiny screens. Really wish could just full on play with the gamepad for sure.
And yes the VC needs more games. I am really confused by their failure to port all the things - at least everything on 3DS should be on there.
I didn't realize the Wii U bundle I bought was a Digital Deluxe bundle that gives 10% points back for eShop purchases.
Only until the end of this year, though.
Also, I have added you as a friend. You are correct that it's just done by ID now :). I am, of course, Vataro. Any of you other regulars feel free to add me.

Enough to give me a small bonus for stocking my VC catalog.
Breath of Fire II and Earthbound. Nothing like a couple great games to poke around with on occasion.
I'm sure I'll reach 5 dollars before the end of the year. Would have been nice if they had give it "X Amount of time after console registration" instead of just an overall end date for the entire promotion though.
