It's a shame the Victini we get now isn't the "good" one with the two signature moves.

Supposedly we can't get V-create unless we get the Victini from the movie promo that has yet to be announced in the states.

V-create looks so overpowered though.

No, that's just a limitation to transferring pokemon via Pal Park. You can trade them just fine (I traded a Vaporeon with Surf/Waterfall from Platinum to SoulSilver), prior to Gen V.

I'll find out tonight if it still works with Gen V; I'll try to trade my Vaporeon to my brother's White game from my SoulSilver.

HOLY HELL.

180 power.
Reduces speed, defense and sp. def by one stage.
Slightly damages pokemon on either side of your opponent in double/triple battles.

And NO drawbacks--no recoil, lost speed, etc. It does have 95% accuracy but OH WAIT, Victini gets +10% accuracy from its passive.

It is, that's why the Victini will be non-breedable and banned in official tournaments. So sayeth the Pokemon Overlord!

I still haven't decided which starter to choose. The game's just sitting in my DS, unplayed...

Starters really aren't that great in the end of things. They're good to have for the initial play-through, but that's about it. Some might argue the usefulness of Blaziken or possibly others, but these days especially there are so many better options.

You can eventually get all 3 starters pretty easily making trades on the GTS anyway.

I'll tell you what, if you get Tepig, I'll check if the level 1 Ferroseed I placed on the GTS is there. If so I'll send it to you via WiFi Club.

Edit: Nevermind, I managed to get a Zorua for the trade. Just have to check if it's a hacked one of not. If I get another Ferroseed egg the offer is still valid.

If I remember reading correctly you cannot get pokemon from the older 5 games until you beat the League Champion in Black/White. After that the Pokemon Transfer system is activated by an in-game event, you can still trade pokemon between Black and White as normal though.

I was under the assumption that the Pokemon Transfer system was like Pal Park in past game, but trading was still available, like in Gen IV games.

If they removed the ability to get pokemon with HMs on a new game, I'm going to be a tad upset since some of my best pokemon had HM moves.

There is the feature but it's on route 15, which is pretty near the end of the game-ish, meaning a bit before you would be heading to the E4.

Yeah, but that's just straight-up transferring the pokemon to your new game. With every other game in the past I've gone out and caught some random crap level 5s and traded them for all of my the pokemon I've had since Silver, regardless of HM moves.

Quote pyramid go!

Anyway, you aren't able to get any of the older pokemon until you get the National Dex after beating the game, or if you have a friend that already beat the game. You can't even see them on the GTS.

Yeah, but you don't see any previous gen pokemon until you beat the E4, and that's when you get the national dex. Plus is it even possible to put a gen 5 on a gen 4 or less game.

no its not

a few clarifications for people posting above

1) you can not trade from ANY old game to the gen 5 games. you must use the transfer minigame once you unlock it.
2) You can not transfer any pokemon with HMs, this is mainly due to the fact some of them have been removed/changed i believe. Its very easy to just remove them in the old game before tranfering though(i mean how many of you really used heart scales in the old games? go use them now to transfer them!)

I'm really getting irritated how enemy pokémon are constantly able to "avoid" my attacks that are 100% accurate. There have been quite a few times where'd I'd miss about four times back to back to back with moves that are not supposed to miss at all... At first I thought, "well, maybe that particular one is holding bright powder, or has some special ability that gives it evasion." No, it's every goddam battle... where I will miss a move like Fire Punch, and the enemy will in turn land a perfect Hypnosis, or get my pokémon confused whereas I can guarantee it will hurt itself every single turn until it wears off.

Nothing like having almost all 6 of my pokémon owned by a trainer with one that is ten levels lower than any of mine due to sheer luck.

Yeah I like how they changed "missed" to "avoided" it confused me for awhile then I realized what they did (i c wat u did thur!). I hate the rng with confuse/sleep. I swear to god I hit myself with confusion 4 times in a row. Also I've been hypnosised, switched, then immediately hypnosised again.

Whenever I confuse someone they either never attack themselves and just go through it, or they snap out of it after 1 turn. Same with sleep, sleep never lasts for me.

That's similar to the problem I have with crits. I NEVER get them when fighting a trainer or gym leader. Nope, instead I get them when I am trying to catch the pokemon.

I hate that they made the second gym Normal types. I mean, really? You're gonna make me go to the next area to catch some fighting pokemon/train them just to backtrack to the gym?

If you really need to search for a fighting type to beat a normal type gym then there is something wrong with your current team. Anyway there should be a NPC or scripted event nearby that will give you the Rock Smash TM.

This, to the left, where you will soon go into a forrest, there is an npc if you talk to her she will give you rock smash. I made herdier learn it and bam, deadfeinted fighting pokemon.

I was told that the leader's pokemon were very tough. Have I been wasting time? D:

My current team:
Dewott
Roggenrola
Wombat
Blitzle
Herdier
Drillbur

I was gonna bench Drillbur and Blitzle for the two fighting types outside the forest.

What moves do Roggenrola and Drillbur know? If Woobat still has Psybeam then you should be able to wipe them out easily.

Woobat does. I can't remember their moves right now (I'm in class, lol). I'll take a shot at the gym when I get back to my room then.

The problem with Woobat and Psychic types is that the leader's pokemon I think both know Crunch, which will rape Psychic types (such as my Munna) :(.
