awesome on the extension, means I can play tonight until my eyes say it is time for sleep XD

I won't be on at 4:30 CST to sign the charter (won't get home myself until around 5:30-6cst), however if you add me to friends list and can catch me later in the evening I'll give ya some gold for the charter.

You guys make it sound kind of fun, but I just can't seem to get into it.

Any big reason why?

I've seen some in the world chat try to link it to WoW (WoW clone), but having played WoW for many years it feels nothing like WoW (other then questing = EXP/Gear).

After reading this thread I logged in to the beta last night. I had a pretty good time. I even tried to log in this morning for a bit before work but I think they were doing a mini-patch. Quite a few things have changed since the last time I logged in and it seemed more fun. And I participated in a couple of invasions, those were pretty cool.

Eh who knows, maybe I'll end up buying it after all.

Although this beta ends tomorrow, there are supposed to be 2 more betas before the Feb 24 early release... so you still have time to try stuff out and decide :).

Yep, pre-orders get perks and get in a week early.

KT: According to the Rift website, all you need in order to have access to Head Start is a pre-order key, which I assume you would get if you preorder through Steam. However, I don't know if that's the case for sure. I also don't know if you'd be able to dl the client through Steam prior to March 1st even if you were granted access through the key.

Here's a thread someone started a couple weeks ago on the topic, though there's no info in there that I didn't just tell you. I have posted in it, however, to try to clarify the point that I mentioned above.

Also if anyone on Lotham wants to give the Fae instance a go (maybe an allakhazam group if we have enough?), I wouldn't mind healing for your group. You'll have to post here or pm me though, because otherwise I don't expect to play much more Rift this beta. I want to avoid burning out.

t.t servers are down for a bit.

Questions for you all:

Anyone having an issue with music? Mine goes in and out as i move my Mouse around, move around, open map/bag/any thing.

Where can I find a PvP vendor?

I haven't noticed an issue with music, but I haven't tested it either.

The pvp vendor for Guardians is in the north of Sanctum, the far northern area. They're around where in-person queue for and get quests for warfronts. I didn't notice anything I was able to buy, and it didn't seem like I was going to be able to do so anytime soon.

QQ server down +1.

For Defiant it's nearly the same PvP vendors near the battle master in Meridian.

I know.

Smiley: frown;

I got an email today saying if I sign up and pay for 6months ($60) right up front, it is only like $10 a month (have till March 15th). And as long as you don't cancel your account and stop playing, it will always be at that $60/6month deal. Pretty sweet deal imo.

That's one of the founder's subscriptions options. I personally will be going for the 3 month plan.

No idea if anyone checks this topic any more, but I'm off to Trion Worlds' Gamer Day tomorrow, a day for playing and discussing Rift with the developers. Anyone have any questions for me to ask? We have a thread in the main Rift forums, but it's stickied and I don't think many people check it Smiley: smile

I did notice, and I am jealous.

I liked a couple of the questions in that thread, actually. As for any other questions...

Are there plans to add more dungeons across all levels? I'd love to see a new available dungeon every 4-5 levels, and of course a variety of 5-man dungeons in addition to raids at the level cap.

Any plans for new open world pvp events? What about other Warfronts? The Black Gardens is interesting, but I'd like to see a more CTF-style map. I'm also curious what other kinds of Warfronts might be possible.

hm. I did see the sticky.

Lucky you.

Do they plan to add a Looking For Group tool?

Doing it the good old way of spamming Chat channels is great and all..but spam gets boring. Would be nice I I could flag my self with a comment and others could search and see me/others for dungeons and what not.

Oh man, what a trip. Got a ton of information to write up in an article that should be out in the next day or two. To answer some of the questions here, no immediate plans for lower level dungeons - after release Trion plans to keep rolling out end-game content first. One of the new warfronts is a Capture the Flag, but I don't know if it's Whitefall or Port Scion. And a definite yes in interest for a dungeon finder (cross-shard, in fact). Although they have concern about killing the social aspect of the game, many people will not go into instances without a group made for them. Not sure what exactly it'll be, but they will be looking to make one.

You know what would rock as a dungeon group finder?

Make it a channel or queue you could join and actually see who is available. Allow for players to create a small note explaining the roll they would like to fill or what offspecs they have available. Kind of like the note in FFXI. Crafting a good "Looking for Group" note could help weed out people who are idiots.

You see a guy named LOLPOOP or IPWNURMOM you can pretty much save yourself the joy of grouping with them. Also it should have the ability to cross server friend people. So if you found a good tank or healer they will show up at the top as people you prefer grouping with. Also it should have an ignore so you can weed out windowlickers.

One can only dream.

If they dont have a cross-shard friend list, then im not really keen on a cross-shard PUG system.

I'm sorry, were you worried about not finding a good healer?
