Someone post tomorrow on what servers you all roll on. I'll play with yas for a few hours each night if peeps are on (I get home at around 6 central, should be able o log in around 6:30 and stay till about 10 or so).
PvP/PvE doesn't matter to me, I fail at both lol.

Yeah apparently you get your first 3 souls for you class pretty early so I have been working tree combo's on the Zam calc.

Ranger/Marksman/Nightblade looks neat.

So does Ele Sum/Storm Caller/Chloromancer.

or maybe Inquisitor/Justicar/Warden....

Looking forward to trying all the possibilities. Eventually you will have enough souls to pretty much have a PvP set, Pve solo, PvE group and variations on support/DPS/Tank/heals.

Looks like a cool system. Also I bet it will be a nightmare to balance for PvP. But I'm not worried about any of that. Just want to enjoy a new world to cruise around in and fun combo's to try.

I had something whipped together that was Beastmaster/Reaver/Paladin and was all PvP-ish but totally solo friendly.
Then I hit the 50 cap and was all "noooo! so much else is needed" XD

Alright, then it's time to post some builds! Two are mage builds and one is a melee rogue build. I'm interested in others' opinions - I've only done them up to level 33, with 44 points spent. For all 3 builds I have basically ignored the 3rd soul. I'm not sure if this is a good idea or not, but it seems to me I'd rather get higher up in 1 skill tree and partway up a 2nd then only partway up all 3.

Elementalist / Stormcaller Mage - http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=0zqys.VtMxdszz.VGzt
Stormcaller / Elementalist Mage - http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=0zqys.VtMx.VGztr0so
Bladedancer / Assassin Rogue - http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=0MVMp.VVdVzsoR0dz.0VRrz

I'm thinking about changing out Riftstalker for Ranger in the rogue tree, for a pet instead of the jump move (and access to another 5% crit in the tree itself).

Not sure if it is just on my end, but the calculator seems bugged...
All the specs you listed just link me to blank trees :3

Works fine for me! If you have firefox, odds are one of your add-ons is blocking it.

I have a Guardian warrior (18) and Defiant Mage (22) on Faebright (PvE), spelling might be wrong. Not going to reroll on a PvP server, sorry... I just don't have the time to level up a new character while continuing my reviews. If you want to hang out on my server you're more than welcome to Smiley: grin

Edit: It might be RP, actually.

Servers are up, make a Guardian on Lotham if you're interested in joining me and Allegory.

Edit: Apparently my friends decided on Guardians for now, so that's what I'm going with. Sorry if that throws anyone for a loop. Since the racials are set to be changed, they figured might as well stick with Guardians for this beta.

I have 2 characters, Vataro the mage and Vataroh the rogue. Mostly playing Vataroh. Guardian on Lotham of course.

Servers are currently down for maintenance, but are supposed to come back up soon.

I got a:

Riftblade/Champ/Beast Gaurdian level 7.

A Elemental/Storm/Chloro Defiant level 7

And a Marks/Ranger/Riftstalker Gaurdian level 8 so far.

I like to try out classes so that might continue into a cleric when the servers come back up.

So far the noob zones are nice. Interface is easy to use and customize with no add ons. Its like having Bartender built in. Game was smoother earlier when I played. When prime time kicked in and they starting popping rifts hard and stress testing I did get some small lag spikes. Nothing unexpected about beta there. Playing on Ultra but I have a pretty beast rig. Frame rates are stable around 30-45 generally.

I like the graphics and art style so far. Character customization is ok but a bit limited for faces as you can make them fatter at the top or bottom but not really granular to the extent of some games with more prefabs built in. I still had some fun on each character playing with all the sliders and options.

Non of my characters struggled much through the early zones. Which is to be expected. I did not die until I hit a Rift on my Ranger and went a little to crazy with DPS on a sub boss. I walked it off (Soulwalk) and popped back up which was nice to get credit for the PQ.

Defiant side is swarmed after noob zone with the Gaurd side being only slightly less so.

Lore wise I like both stories ok. Gaurds seem to be zealots somewhat. While Defiant are more pragmatics who get in trouble for pushing the bounds of nature with machines.

Ranger is by far the fastest killer of the group so far. He just blows the holy living hell out of everything. Fun class will probably need adjustment(aka nerfbat). I can see them being hell on wheels in PvP with the speed boost from Marks on swift shot and the ability to shoot on the run very fluidly.

So far I am loving it. Shiny new feeling is there. Not worried about groups or endgame. Just enjoying the ride which is always my favorite part of the game despite raiding heavily in WoW at times.

My dwarf is (iirc) Reaver/Guardian/Warlord and it seems each has the same ability but with a different name XD ('cept Reaver's).

If you go to your class trainer you can buy more Specs for 30g. Not sure if you are limited to the 3 you picked for the new spec, or if you can re-pick 3 Souls again (I paid for it thinking it would wipe me current Tree >.>)

The other option is the one to respec. It seemed free, or maybe the 1st time is.
And I think I will just stick with 2 Souls, as playing around with 3 seems awesome..but with only so many points each level (maybe you get more the more you level, per level?) trying to put points in all 3 seems like a bad idea at the start.

I think at some point there will be viable builds that put points in all 3, but as far as I'm concerned the 3rd one is just for whatever special starting ability it has (for example, as a rogue I took Riftstalker as my 3rd soul because it has a blink move, which is awesome).
