I posted something kind of like this last week but I talked to tech support for my pc and they have no clue how to answer anything so I was hoping someone here could. By the way, its an eMachines T5246.

I want to install more RAM on my pc to EQ2, this is what tech support gave to me:

Installed: 2048 MB DDR2 667 MHz (PC2-5300) memory (two 1024 MB modules)
Expandable to: 2 GB (two DIMM slots; maximum memory is installed)

So does that mean that the maximum memory is installed, or can I take out the 1024's and add in two 2gb chips and will it recognize the added memory?

Thank you in advance.

Yes, since you just have 2 memory slots, you can take out the two 1 gig sticks and put in two 2 gig sticks.
