My deepest condolences, Spyder. If you ever decide to give PvE a shot, I'd be happy to give you a leg up on AB.
That's one of my options. The thought of starting 8 characters over after 4 years and some change is sort of disheartening though. Another option is to transfer to Vox which as far as I know is still a free one way transfer. The ability to buy characters and plat for cash is not my style, but its the worst of two evils I suppose.
My final option is spend these last two months on Venekor harvesting like crazy and stuffing all my bank boxes with resources and rares. And, spending the rest of my days in EQ2 huddled in a Guild Hall tradeskilling after the merge happens.
I really enjoy PvP.. don't get me wrong. I'm just not a fan of non-stop PvP from login to logout. Dying to raid groups every 10 steps when leaving immunity.
I knew that a merge was a possibility. I'm just disappointed that we weren't given another option first. And, I feel really bad for the hundreds of People on Nagafen who were hoping for an opportunity to transfer to Venekor because they transferred there last time and regret it. Or, rolled their new characters there not prepared for the scene there.
Ah well.. one more aspect of gaming that will fade out during my lifetime. I have almost two decades of fond memories of Role-Play-PvP. A long time run in a Vampire guild.. RP'n the death or turning of our victims and leaving cursed markers by their bodies. Playing the "Pirate" that would murder his victims on the waters and then loot them. The gallant knight who was an Anti-PK and hunted those who murdered innocent people.
One person asked me last night.. "Can't you still RP on Nagafen?"
To which I replied.. I suppose. But, creating a macro to bow and congratulate every member of the 24 man raid group that just rolled me might get a little complicated. Especially while I'm being tea-bagged and humped by half of them. :(
