I'm a vet from FFXI and WoW, and I recently did the Direct2Drive download of EQ2 and the first few expansions (all but the most recent one). I needed something new, something that felt bigger and better.
I always liked the idea behind EQ, for a short stint I had played the PS2 online game Everquest Online Adventures. It was a little much to wrap my head around at the time, but it seemed like a great game.
Now, I want to try out EQ2. But the thing is, I'm not too sure on race/class.
Race, I just don't want to look silly. Some of the races look pretty odd.
Class is the more difficult choice for me, because I came from a diverse background in FFXI and WoW.
In FFXI, I was a White Mage (healer). Loved it. Tried DD classes, and couldn't get into them.
In WoW, I tried healing classes (priest, druid) and couldn't get into them, but I loved DD classes (high level Warlock and Hunter). I also enjoyed tanking somewhat, having a Paladin in the 50's as a tank.
So I'm torn on what I want to do. Also, I was trying to decide on a good server to be on. I like to RP, but the RP servers on WoW were no different from regular servers. No one ever really acted, was just the same old "LF2M (instance) need tank and heals for (Boss) paying 2g".
I like spellcasting, I like healing, and I like being useful with debuffs. Part of me was looking the Necromancer way, but I also want to be desired in parties. I also thought the bard classes (Troubadour and Dirge) looked nice, like opposites. From what I could tell, Troubadours buff, Dirges debuff.
So what all, from that make-up, would anyone say is a good race/class/server for me to go on?
