Yeah, so I just chewed my foot off an escaped from playing WoW (I didn't think it was possible for a game to make raid tanking boring) so now I'm looking for a class to try.
I definitly want to be some sort of fighter class so this seems like a good place to ask a few questions. I played a paladin in WoW, so for this I was looking chiefly at the Shadowknight/Paladin and the Berserker.
I'm looking for something that can do a little more than just be a tank, maybe put out some damage, but still be able to do the job when the need arises, but I can't seem to get a good feel for the classes just with a few one-sentance blurbs and a spell list.
Is the berseker like they're portrayed in typical games? Able to dish out damage but dying relativly easy? Or can they still be chosen as a functional tank?
Or with shadowknight, would I always be a second chair tank because the class seems to be more offensivly oriented?
If I play a paladin, I won't be forced to be a healer will I? And if not will I be like a WoW paladin, able to soak up damage and stay alive almost indefinitly, but hit like a 2 year old with a wiffleball bat?
Is this the kind of game where if I'm not a major specilized tank class (guardian I'm assuming) I won't get to do so in raid situations?
Just wondering before I start getting serious with a char. Don't have the countless hours I used to to feel out every single class anymore.
