so i was wondering, what payement methods are there, are there tradeskills and which ones if any? and what are the main differences between EQ and EQ2 and which would you recommend to me?
Payment methods...you mean exchanging money for goods and services? I'll assume that. You can pay for things from other players by either direct trade live with the player, mailing coin or products to a player, visiting their home and buying items directing from a sales box the player has set up, or buying goods from a player via an NPC broker who takes a little extra coin as a commission fee for facilitating the deal.
Tradeskills...let's see: Weaponsmith, armorer, carpenter, provisioner, sage, alchemist, tailor, jeweler....woodworker? I think thats all of them. You can also be a tinkerer or transmuter as a secondary tradeskill. I recommend you visit the fine folk at
EQ2 Traders Corner for all of your tradeskilling needs.
The main difference you'll find between EQ1 and EQ2 is the dedication requirements. EQ2 is somewhat less "hardcore" than EQ1. It's not quite as "arcade easy click-n-watch" like WoW, but it isn't nearly as difficult as EQ1. It sort of hovers in between the two in difficulty. The mentoring system means you won't have the problem of outlevelling your friends anymore. The achievement system works differently. The world is smaller, but with a greater amount of instanced content. A lot more variety too. We did the math recently...between all the classes and races and due to the betrayal system there was 400+ possible race/class combinations. Good stuff.
