I logged on sort of late, so I didn't get to hear about any horrible training deaths. I set to work grinding out some of my remaining quests in the Commonlands and dinged 25. Then I saw some necro OOC'ing a request for help killing General Drull for the "Brining the Light" quest.
I sent him a tell and told him I would lend a hand, and he asked if I had the quest. I did, but I had only gotten it and completed the first step, setting it aside with the mindset that since it was a heritage quest and likely more difficult than normal I would wait till it was almost greyed out to work on it. Well the necro said he'd run me around to get me caught up while we looked for more folks, so that's what we did.
When we got me all caught up, a guildie asked if anyone needed help with anything, and I asked if he'd like to help us with General Drull. He said sure, and ran his 70 defiler and troub to us, mentored down and we entered the instance. I had no idea what to expect, and next thing I knew we were overrun with orcs. Long story short, we used some fancy tricks to beat down the orcs and the General, and returned to Cannix for the turn in.
I was shocked to receive two achievement points from the turn in, but what was cooler was that our quest dinged the guild to level 58. There was much wooting, although I scarcely understood what was going on.
Then I stood around chatting with my guildie, which was good, because I'm about 45 levels lower than most of the guild and it was cool to get to know someone other than DSD a bit.
It was a very fun night for me, and I can't wait to level up more and see what else EQII has to offer.
This concludes my essay.
