Ah, that last post actually explains a lot to me. I've been set in the mindset of the old EQ, running around looking in zones trying to figure out where people are camping so I can pick up groups, lol. Also, I only just a day or so ago figured out how to use the world channels... I could see people talking but had no idea how to reply, I was using ooc and obviously not getting any responses.
I have to give kudos to the developers, there are many, many improvements that I just love.... the new quest system is awesome, the way it keeps track and tells you what step is next, and actually gives out decent rewards. Tons better than the old system. Also the thing with reviving in a safe point in the same zone after you die, and keeping your body.... no more hours and hours of corpse runs and waiting for resurrections, wow. The boats are much improved, and I just love the bells. Travelling is fun, I can't believe how much experience you can get just by exploring new zones... I went completely through level 29 just exploring thundering steppes and the commonlands and nektulos, only killing the occasional pesky critter.
Kunark was actually my favorite area, I loved that land... I can't wait till they release the new version of it!
Thanks for all the input, it has explained a lot about the new game.... I'm thinking I may just retire this character and begin again, with what I know now and starting in qeynos or freeport. I never did like faydark, even in the old days, I don't know what possessed me to start this game there.
Good hunting, everyone!
