Good morning, happy campers.
So, you've heard me talk over the last few days about the baby assassin that I rolled and have been leveling. Well, as most of you know my main is a 70 SK. I tank a lot. Every group I am in and most raids I am in, I am the MT. This is fine and expected. I love tanking. It's fun for me. However sometimes I like a break from the responsibility and just want to do other things. This is why I roll alts. So that I can load up and let loose some times without having to worry about carrying the entire group. So I started this assassin and for 3 days in a row now I have ended up in groups that could not find a tank. And the reaction has always been the same - "Damn guys. We can't find a tank. Oh well, the assassin can just do it." "Hey the assassin should be able to hold aggro" or "How about the assassin tank until we find someone?". Give me a break, people! I'm not playing an assassin because I want to be on the front lines! I should be all "sneaky sneaky stabby stabby in the shadow from behind" not carrying the banner at the forefront! Gah.
Last night was the last straw. They didn't even ask first. I join a group and they can't find a tank. After a few minutes one person says "Ok so who is going to tank then?" and the group leader responds, "The assassin will do it". I blinked a couple times at my screen and finally just said, "No. No, he won't." and camped to desktop without another word. Maybe because I mainly play a tank so it doesn't ever come up, but are scout often expected to tank? I mean, for you scout players out there, do you log in expecting to get asked to tank? Is it unreasonable of me to not want to tank when I roll a damn character who I created specifically so that I could take a break from tanking?
How was your evening?
